This article is about a Rider in Kamen Rider Geats. |
- "What I want, is to be emotionally stirred. (俺が求めているのは... 感動だ。, Ore ga motomete iru no wa... kandōda.)"
- ―Ziin's post-transformation catchphrase.[src]
Ziin (ジーン, Jīn) is an audience member of the Desire Grand Prix and Ace Ukiyo's supporter who transforms into Kamen Rider Ziin (仮面ライダージーン, Kamen Raidā Jīn). During the third Desire Royale, he transforms into Kamen Rider Ziin Gazer (仮面ライダージーンゲイザー, Kamen Raidā Jīn Geizā).
History
Background
Ziin was born sometime in the distant future and acquired a Laser Raise Riser. Around this time, he became an audience member of the Desire Grand Prix and watched many games, including the ones in which Eisu Yakumo was a participant. One day, he choose to invite a high-schooler named Ace Ukiyo into the game and became his supporter.
Divergence Arc
After the Riders cleared out the first wave of the School Game, Ace was called to the viewing area where Ziin was watching. After saying how much entertainment he had brought him through his fight against the Game Master and that it was a honor to meet him, a rather confused Ace demanded to know who he was. He explained that he was one of Ace's supporters, and implied he was the one who got Niramu to give him the Command Buckle, saying he was looking forward to Ace continuing to be the undefeated champion of the game. After the two shook hands for a moment, he pulled Ace over, and wished him luck in finding out who he was, and why he exists, much to Ace's annoyance.
Ziin would continue to watch the Desire Grand Prix from the viewing areas, watching the first half of the Jyamar Ball round with Kekera, saying that if Keiwa Sakurai, who he was supporting, was the Dezastar, he didn't want Keiwa getting a secret mission and getting more Raise Buckles. During the intermission between the second half of the round and the sudden death overtime, he visited Ace again in the game area, asking him if he missed his mother. He would later reveal that he had done research into Ace's family, and found that his parents were called Mika and Issei Ukiyo, and that he had a seemingly normal childhood. When he asked Ace why he was looking for Mitsume, Ace asked him back who the audience members of the Desire Grand Prix actually were, and he revealed that they were travellers from other dimensions, who go to their world just to watch the show. Ace responded that he thought Ziin was worth keeping an eye on, Ziin said the same to him, saying to himself that Ace, and his past, was getting more and more intriguing.
During the Timebomb Game, Ziin was visited by Beroba in his viewing area, prompting him to pull his Laser Raise Riser out and ask her to leave as only Rider supporters were allowed in there. However, she shrewdly responded by saying that she had already found a Rider supporter in the form of Michinaga Azuma, forcing Ziin to put his gun down.
Ziin later tells Ace that he believes the recent lack of Jyamato was part of Beroba's plans as Buffa's new supporter. Discovering that she was up to no good, Ziin confronts Beroba who had just stolen Chirami's Vision Driver. Declining Beroba's offer to join her, Ziin transformed and defeated both Buffa and Nadge-Sparrow without breaking a sweat, however Beroba ultimately escapes.
- "Yep, that's right. Just as how you people view Ancient Greece and the Sengoku period as entertainment, your world is a pool of entertainment for us."
- ―Ziin confirming that he and his people came from the future.[src]
After Ace and the others were tasked with retrieving Chirami's Vision Driver, Ziin joined Ace as a fellow Rider and helped him fight the Jyamato. As Michinaga arrived, Ziin stepped aside so that Ace could fight him. Ziin watched until Beroba joined him on the sidelines, telling her that she needed to return the Vision Driver due to their rules as time travelers. However, Ace overheard them, to which Ziin confirmed that what Ace heard was entirely true. With their secret out, Beroba transformed and destroyed the garden, annihilating everyone in its radius. Fortunately, everyone else was able to escape back to the supporter rooms, where Ziin and Ace watched the Special Program.
Lamentation Arc
With the Jyamato Grand Prix now underway, Ziin admitted to Ace that he was willing to do whatever it took to get their game back. However with Ace's fatigue hitting him due to his usage of Boost MarkII, it prompted Ziin's curiosity to look into Ace's background where he noticed that there was previous Dezashin named Eisu Yakumo, who was also named "Ace". Ziin confronted Ace and was able to confirm that the latter had been reincarnating for the past couple thousands of years.
After Ace had gone off on his own and put himself in danger, Ziin arrived to protect him from Beroba and the Jyamato Riders, but was ultimately defeated himself. After being saved by Keiwa and Neon, Ziin admitted to Ace that he put himself in danger because he wanted to put himself in the shoes of the people of that era, to know what it felt like at death's door. As they talked, Ziin learned that Ace felt his current life was a curse, but still strived to "live in the moment". Upon learning what Ace meant, Ziin gave his Laser Raise Riser to Ace, allowing him to access LaserBoost Form. Afterwards, Ziin decided to return to the future and find a new purpose in life by "living in the moment" just like Ace.
Ziin later returned following Ace's recent discovery of his mother as the Goddess of Genesis, where he expressed his disappointment of Ace letting things end this way.
Yearning Arc
The Grand End was about to start, and the people from the future have to go back to their future, Ziin, who was together with Ace, decided to say goodbye saying that even apart, he will still be still his fan, and leaves with Kyuun.
Genesis Arc
He later returns to the present and visits Ace's shrine and meet up with Tsumuri about the new DGP, one in which helps support people's wishes for happiness and asks her if she would become a navigator if asked. She accepts the offer and Ziin leaves the shrine.
God Jyamato Crisis
After assisting Niramu in recovering his memories, the God Jyamato finally breaches the future era. Ziin attempts to fend off the invader, but is impaled by one of its tentacles and is seemingly killed, much to Niramu's horror. [Geats Extra: Kamen Rider Gazer] However, the God Jyamato's existence is later nullified, and future Ace confirms the restoration of the future era, meaning Ziin can likely be restored. Post-Series & Other Events
Kamen Rider Outsiders
When Foundation X member Ecole transformed into Kamen Rider Zein and used the Dimension Zein Card to reset the current dimension, Ziin came back from the future and approached George Karizaki. Despite George telling him that the world was going towards its end, Ziin announced the new Desire Royale while looking at the dimensional crack in the sky.
Personality
Ziin is a friendly supporter, aiding Ace whenever he can, such as giving background intel on the Desire Grand Prix and the Jyamato. Additionally, Ziin is capable of getting along with other DGP supporters, such as Kekera, despite themselves being rivals to one another.
However, a flaw about Ziin was that as a person from the future, he had no understanding of emotions or even real death. As such, he motivated himself into trying to get emotionally moved by going to the past and seeing all the drama that unfolded, as everything in life in the future, even a person's lifespan, is predetermined. He only started to understand the real meaning of emotions when he witnessed Ace about to be killed. This culminated into him trying to put himself at death's door by protecting Ace at his weakest, and learning to "live in the moment" from Ace. This makes him now seeking the meaning of his life, while now hopes from his heart for Ace's wish to get back his mother's happiness, even willing to give out his Laser Raise Riser to Ace for his wish.

Ziin's primary form is accessed by inserting the Ziin Raise Riser Card in the Laser Raise Riser.
Compared to the DGP Riders, Ziin's specs are significantly higher than an Entry Raise Form. Aside from being an expert gunslinger, Ziin's main power is his ability to change the vectors of matter and energy in any direction, allowing him to walk on vertical surfaces by changing the direction of gravity. He can also activate the Support Mode of his Riser and shoot a platform for another Rider (Such as Geats) to ride on.
Kamen Rider Ziin consists of the following parts:
- Ziin Head (ジーンヘッド, Jīn Heddo): The head.
- Ziin Ear (ジーンイヤー, Jīn Iyā): The helmet's ears. It is equipped with various information-gathering functions through dimensional observation and serves as an ultra-high-definition radar.
- Ziin Signal (ジーンシグナル, Jīn Shigunaru): The dimensional stabilizer. The entire body is constantly monitored, and if a problem is detected, a corrective program is promptly generated and properly processed to maintain a safe transformation state.
- Sentinel Blue (センチネルブルー, Senchineru Burū): The compound eyes. The simultaneous deployment of multiple views makes it possible to constantly check the trends of supported target.
- Inrealiser (インリアライザー, Inriaraizā): The input device. It is equipped with a function that reads the "Design Ability" (デザイン力, Dezain-ryoku), the power possessed by the Rider to produce and coordinate their ideal self, and transmits this information to the Outrealiser, a design device for output on the chest.
- Ziin Caller (ジーンコーラー, Jīn Kōrā): The audio output device. Equipped with a function to convert the intentions of the Rider into voice, communication between Kamen Riders is achieved by voice chat.
- Outrealiser (アウトリアライザー, Autoriaraizā): The output device. The information read by the Inrealiser, a design device for input in the head, is output as the Kamen Rider's ability.
- Vectolancer (ベクトランサー, Bekutoransā): The special device. It has the ability to change the various vectors of matter and energy in any direction, making it possible to walk on walls by changing the direction of gravity, or evade attacks by changing the trajectory of bullets.
- Monochromer (モノクローマー, Monokurōmā): The armor, composed of cubic Meta Materials, provides excellent shock absorption due to its flexibility to expand and contract approximately 1,000 times. This makes even a direct hit from a tank gun nearly ineffective.
- Raise Riser Belt (レイズライザーベルト, Reizu Raizā Beruto): The belt and energy device. By establishing a private network through the virtual world with the Laser Raise Riser, they receive a wireless energy supply. A holder for the Laser Raise Riser is equipped on the right side.
- Designerly Arm (デザイナリーアーム, Dezainarī Āmu): The arms. It has a structure that extends and strengthens the arms of the human form through the Design Ability of the Rider, and produces tremendous arm strength according to their intention. This is refined each time the Rider is deeply moved.
- Dimension Hand (ディメンションハンド, Dimenshon Hando): The gloves and hand device. It specializes in ultra-precision shooting using the Laser Raise Riser and can extract items from the virtual world into the real world.
- Designerly Leg (デザイナリーレッグ, Dezainarī Reggu): The legs. It has a structure that extends and strengthens the human-shaped legs through the Design Ability of the Rider, and produces tremendous leg strength according to their intention. It specializes in aerial attitude control during jumps with long flight times.
- Dimension Foot (ディメンションフット, Dimenshon Futto): The boots and foot device. By generating an energy field in the sole of the foot, it creates super instantaneous force and super jumping power. Special moves can be activated by converging the energy to a super-dense concentration.
This form has the following finishers:
- Laser Victory (レーザビクトリー, Rēza Bikutorī): Ziin charges the Laser Raise Riser and fires a blast of blue energy.
- Laser Charge (レーザーチャージ, Rēzā Chāji): Ziin charges energy to his legs as he delivers numerous kicks, before delivering one final roundhouse kick.

Relationships
Friends & Allies
- Ace Ukiyo/Kamen Rider Geats: Ziin is a massive fan of Ace, and acts as his main supporter, giving him regular secret missions to help him in the Desire Grand Prix. However, the relationship is rather one sided, as Ace seems to not care much for Ziin, and finds him rather weird at times, for example when Ziin revealed the truth behind his parents, or when they first met. Despite this, Ziin will still support his idol whenever he can, and finds him very interesting, especially his past and his reasons behind participating in the game. After Ziin manages to uncover the truth about Ace, Ace warns him that his life is not for Ziin's entertainment, although Ziin remains steadfast in his support to witness Ace's reunion with Mitsume. In the end, Ace would help teach Ziin the importance of 'living in the moment' after he was saved from their near death experience, and this would drive Ziin to return to the future, to try find true purpose in his life, instead of obsessing over Ace's, leaving on much better terms than before, with Ace telling him to come visit him again at some point.
- Keiwa Sakurai/Kamen Rider Tycoon: Ziin first met Keiwa when he was digging into the truth behind Ace's origins, however he couldn't provide him with any information when he asked Keiwa what he knew about Ace.
- Neon Kurama/Kamen Rider Na-Go: When Ziin asked her about what she knew about Ace, she explained that all she knew was that a previous wish he had made to see his mum was declined, which gave him the clues he needed to piece together that it was one of Ace's previous lives who did it, finally unearthing the truth behind his past.
- Michinaga Azuma/Kamen Rider Buffa: Ziin is reminded on how Michinaga and Beroba are similar in a way of their rivalry with himself and Geats.
- Tsumuri: After Ace's death, Ziin invites Tsumuri to become a navigator again for a new DGP and she gladly accepted it.
- (Kamen Rider) Kyuun: Kyuun fights alongside Ziin & Kekera against Beroba. Although they cooperate well in battle, Kyuun is rather wary of Ziin to the point of warning Neon to not become too involved with him, as he could become a danger later on.
Desire Grand Prix
- Niramu/Kamen Rider Gazer: Ziin goes to Niramu for answers on Ace's origin & wishes, in which the latter finally confirmed his suspicions. It's later revealed that Ziin & Niramu already known each other at least from Sengoku Era.
- Samas: to be added
Enemies
- Jyamato: to be added
- Jyamato Riders: to be added
- (Kamen Rider/Premium) Beroba/Kamen Rider Glare2 (II):: Ziin pulled his gun on Beroba when she went into his viewing area, with him demanding her to leave, as he did not know of Beroba's status as a Rider sponsor through Michinaga's re-entry, and not just as a Jyamato sponsor. In the end however, Ziin did back down, once Beroba revealed she was now Michinaga's supporter. Currently, they still battle each other as Ziin wants for Ace to be the Deza-shin once more.
- (Kamen Rider/Premium) Kekera: Ziin and Kekera watched the first half of Jyamar Ball together, and seem to get on rather well. The two are also pretty competitive as well, as they support different competitors in the DGP. When the Jyamato Grand Prix began, Ziin, Kekera and Kyuun team up against Beroba.
- Daichi Isuzu/Kamen Rider Nadge-Sparrow: to be added
- Nemeru/Kamen Rider Gazer Zero:
Behind the Scenes
Portrayal
Ziin is portrayed by Fuku Suzuki (鈴木 福, Suzuki Fuku), who previously portrayed Shotaro Ishinomori in Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki. As Kamen Rider Ziin, his suit actor is Danki Sakae (榮 男樹, Sakae Danki), who was also the suit actor for Kamen Rider Ginpen.
Etymology
Ziin's name is derived from jīnto (じいんと ), a Japanese onomatopoeia that indicates someone is impressed or moved emotionally.
Notes
- Ziin's finger snap in his transformation pose was a direct result of Suzuki working with the director to appear stylish while standing next to Ace.[3]
- The stance that Ziin holds his Raise Riser Card is a homage to how Shotaro Hidari holds the Doubledriver.[4]
- Out of all the users of the Laser Raise Riser, Ziin is the only one with a physical suit and suit actor in his transformed Rider state, as all other users are CGI models. He is also the only DGP Supporter whose color does not match his chosen rider in any way, his highlights being blue as opposed to Geats' red. However, the DGP Supporters' secondary color (white) matches Geats' white.
- Due to the nature of his Rider form, Ziin has used it far more often than the other supporters, with a grand total of eight episodes followed by Beroba at four, Kyuun with two, and Kekera at only one.
- Ziin Gazer uses the same base suit as Kamen Rider Gazer but with Kamen Rider Ziin's color scheme and a retooled helmet.
