Yuto Sakurai (桜井 侑斗, Sakurai Yūto) is a man from a dark alternate timeline who transforms into Kamen Rider Zein (仮面ライダーゼイン, Kamen Raidā Zein).
In his past, he was also Kamen Rider Zeronos (仮面ライダーゼロノス, Kamen Raidā Zeronosu, Masked Rider Zeronos) in the past but did not fight for love. Eventually after losing Zein to Ecole, he returned to being Zeronos once again to fight against Foundation X.

History[]
Background[]
This version of Yuto Sakurai comes from a post-apocalyptic future where he lost the people he cared about, though the fates of his Airi Nogami and Deneb were never elaborated upon. Because humanity in his future have lost control, he was summoned into the present day by Zein and was chosen to be its vessel and user of the Zein Driver to transform into Kamen Rider Zein in hopes of subjugating mankind.
Becoming Zein[]
In Sakuya Tachibana's office, Yuto enters to receive the Zein Driver while Horobi is ambushed by a revived Tenjuro Banno as Bronzedrive. Just as Horobi was about to be finished by Bronzedrive, Yuto transforms into Zein and somehow stopped time, immobilizing Banno as he invokes Muteki Gamer's Hyper Critical Sparking, beating the psychopathic scientist within an inch of his life. Fearing for his life, Banno attempts to escape, only for Zein to use the Haouken Xross Saber to launch the 10 Seikens at him, destroying his Humagear body in the process. [ep.3 The Battle Fight Resumes and Zein's Birth]
After the battle, Yuto reveals himself as Kamen Rider Zein, with Foundation X agent Ecole having recognized him as Kamen Rider Zeronos. Former Roidmude commander Brain befriends Yuto and follows him to BOARD, which allows Brain and Banno, who survived the brutal beating from Zein, to spy on Zein's inner circle where they finally learn of Zein's master plan: relaunch Kamen Rider Chronicle to recruit Ride-Players in hopes of eliminating malice. In truth, this is a pretext for Zein's goal of using the game to send mankind towards the path of self-destruction. When Nico Saiba objects to this plan, she is held at gunpoint by Tachibana, leading to Horobi immediately falling out with his fellow heroic Riders. Yuto reveals that Horobi choosing not to annihilate humanity was the cause of his dark future. Tensions rise even further when the Ark possesses Horobi, transforming into Ark-Zero and easily overpowering Kamen Rider Garren. However, Yuto would personally confront the Ark and transforms into Kamen Rider Zein. Zein viciously dominates Ark-Zero as he prepares to use Blade King Form's powers. However, Kamen Rider Brain takes the deathblow meant for Ark-Zero, as the Roidmude calls him out for his brutal and callous behavior knowing that if he kills Horobi, along with the Ark will not excuse him from becoming the same kind of evil he's opposing. This causes Yuto to relent and de-transform. However, Garren unlocks his own King Form and destroys the weakened Ark-Zero with his Four of a Kind finisher, injuring Horobi. In the aftermath, Zein hijacks Yuto's body and introduced itself to its now-former allies, Zein then mimics Nico's voice as it tricks Genm Corp. CEO Tsukuru Koboshi into relaunching Kamen Rider Chronicle while Horobi, Brain, and Tachibana can only look on in horror as Zein proceeds with its plan into motion. Zein continued to possess Yuto's body as he used Kamen Rider Chronicle to eradicate malice, until he gets defeated by Kamen Rider Zero-Three.
Release from Zein[]
After Kamen Rider Evol-X saved Yuto by teleporting away, Yuto is no longer possessed by Zein and suffered from memories of Zein eliminating a Ride-Player. Evol-X prasied him by label him as "The Kamen Rider who keeps destroying till the end", only for Yuto to retort that he was fighting to change the apocalyptic future, not to destroy everything.
Later in a rooftop, Yuto was urged by Zein to eliminate more malice, he questioned Zein by if doing that could change the future, Zein replied that future will be change, which gave Yuto the determination. Deciding to change the flow of time, Yuto pulls out a Blank Zein Card, converting it to Dimension Zein Card.
Their conversation eventually got interrupted by Zero-Three, forcing Yuto transform into Zein to fight them once more. Zein used GeatsIX's Zein Card and power of Genesis to gain advantage during the fight, however still got hit by Zero-Three's All Rampage Blast finisher from Zero-Three. As Zein struggled weakly on the ground, Zero-Three predicted Yuto's future and found that Zein was the culprit for the extinction of mankind in the future. Yuto also realized this and deliberately took Zero-Three's Big Bang finisher, taking the opportunity to completely release Zein's control.
Yuto then intends to throw Zein's power into the dimensional crack before anyone else can get it, making it disappear forever by using Dimension Zein Card. Unexpectedly, the sudden appearance of Evolto and Ecole made the situation out of control: the Evolto-possessed Joseph Rando firstly subdued Gai Amatsu who was present, and then after transforming into Evol-X, he took the card in Yuto's hand and handed it to Ecole. Ecole picked up the Zein Driver that had fallen to the ground when Yuto got defeated, transformed into the second Kamen Rider Zein and used the card, intending to reset the current dimension. When Yuto was about to be executed, Brain, with two Toki Meki Bridal Gashats inserted in his Humagear Module, suddenly stepped forward to stop Zein. Although he was overpowered by the opponent and was thrown into the dimensional crack and disappeared, he successfully restored Yuto's original memories. Zein continued to walk towards Yuto to kill him, only for Yuto to summon the ZeroLiner and retreat. After that, Evol-X also retreated with Zein. [ep.6 Love & Peace and the Dimension's Savior]
Personality[]
This Yuto Sakurai is a gloomy, nihilistic, and sullen individual; a far cry from the fiery temper and heart of gold of his prime counterpart. Given that he came from a post-apocalyptic future where he lost everything, he became misanthropic and believed that humanity is a lost cause because of their capacity for malice that he willingly accepted himself as Zein's host to become the namesake Kamen Rider, using the power of every Kamen Rider so that Zein can rule the world with an iron fist.
As Kamen Rider Zein, Yuto is shown to be very cold-blooded and violent. He shows no remorse in turning Tenjuro Banno into a human pincushion using Xross Saber's powers. Shockingly, this Yuto is more willing to cross the line for the sake of a greater good when most heroic Riders are not supposed to. Had Brain not protected Horobi (while possessed by the Ark) from Zein's deathblow, Yuto could have become the same kind of monster he is fighting. Even though Brain managed to save Yuto from going down further to a dark path, this is unfortunately cut short when Zein possesses Yuto, preventing him from truly redeeming himself.
He later relented after he (under Zein's control) unwillingly killed Ride-Player and when Kamen Rider Evol-X called him a "rider who destroys everything in his path" which he denies, and ultimately allowed Zero-Three to defeat him after the combined rider revealed that the seemingly benevolent A.I. eradicated humankind in Yuto's timeline, bringing about his redemption.

Zein possesses the ability to harness the powers of every Justice Rider by utilizing the Zein Cards, which enable him to execute the finishing attacks of the corresponding Rider. Other than finishing attacks, Zein is able to utilize the Zein Cards to temporarily use the abilities of the corresponding Rider or summon their weapons. It is important to note that these Cards are rendered unusable and shredded after usage.
Stat-wise, however, Zein is almost equal to Kamen Rider Zero-Two, but he loses in overall punching and kicking power, his maximum jumping height is outclassed by Zero-Two, and his running speed is slightly slower.
Zein consists of the following parts:
- Judge Head (ジャッジヘッド, Jajji Heddo): The head.
- Zein Antenna (ゼインアンテナ, Zein Antena): The antennas. The directivity can be changed according to the environment, and a vast amount of information of multiple types can be transmitted and received simultaneously, including communication with various electronic devices and radar functions. The maximum number of simultaneous connections with external devices is 10,000.
- Amazing Black γ (アメイジングブラックγ, Ameijingu Burakku Ganma): The head armor material. It is a high-density sintered material made by blending the rare metal Astmetalum (アストメタルム, Asutometarumu) with carbon, etc., and has a hardness comparable to that of diamond and high shock absorption.
- Archaic Brow (アルカイックブロウ, Arukaikku Burou): The frontal armor. The Coulomb barrier generated by the thigh armor "Marble Cuisses" forms on the surface of the armor to repel physical attacks with repulsive force.
- Z-Judge Signal (Zジャッジシグナル, Zetto Jajji Shigunaru): The special sensor. By collecting detailed information such as the target's actions, words and deeds, the artificial intelligence Zein will use the information to judge its goodness or badness.
- Multi Compound Eye (マルチコンパウンドアイ, Maruchi Konpaundo Ai): The eyes. Real-time video data is collected from reconnaissance satellites, security cameras in the facility, and various AI-equipped devices by connecting to the network. This allows for simultaneous viewing of any location as its own view.
- Decision Crusher (ディセイジョンクラッシャー, Diseijon Kurasshā): The mouthguard. Equipped with high-quality speakers, the difference between the transformer and the synthetic voice created by the artificial intelligence Zein has been successfully reduced to 0.09%. This also allows for cognitive warfare, such as bluffing when the transformer is seriously damaged or making it difficult to identify the transformer by voice changers.
- Algorithmic Suit (アルゴリズミックスーツ, Arugorizumikku Sūtsu): The powered suit. A human enhancement system applies electromagnetic induction that activates the wearer's physical abilities and draws out superhuman strength. The information on the Zein Cards read and shredded by the Zein Driver is algorithmized through a special program, Kamen Rider Chronicle, to embody various Kamen Rider abilities and techniques.
- Equip Mantle (エクイップマント, Ekuippu Manto): The mantle. It has a built-in irradiation molding machine, Beam Equipper (ビームエクイッパー, Bīmu Ekuippā), which outputs high-definition three-dimensional objects from the irradiated surface inside the mantle. This allows various weapons and items to instantly appear from the Zein Card information read by the Zein Driver.
- Justice Jacket (ジャスティスジャケット, Jasutisu Jaketto): The chest armor. Behind its extremely strong armor lies a determination to exterminate all malice, and it has the ability to progressively release its limiter as the target's evil quotient increases.
- Assigned Arm (アサインドアーム, Asaindo Āmu): The arms. The power cable Z-String (Zストリング, Zetto Sutoringu) stretched across the Algorithmic Suit reinforces the transformer's movements and executes every maneuver with an accurate reproducibility rate of over 99.7%.
- Execution Gauntlet (エクスキューションガントレット, Ekusukyūshon Gantoretto): The hand and forearm armor. It has the ability to convert the energy supplied by the Zein Driver into destructive power, generating a powerful punching force. It is equipped with the weapon control auxiliary engine I.M.P.R.O.V.E Ver 3.0 (インプローブ3.0, Inpurōbu 3.0) that simplifies the operation of various weapons, making it compatible with all Kamen Rider weapons.
- Marble Cuisses (マーブルキュイス, Māburu Kyuisu): The thigh armor. An energy barrier generator called the Coulomb Generator (クーロンジェネレーター, Kūron Jenerētā) generates a Coulomb barrier by manipulating electrical charges and forms it on the surface of its entire body's armor. This allows the physical attack to be dispelled by repulsive force.
- Assigned Leg (アサインドレッグ, Asaindo Reggu): The legs. The power cable Z-String (Zストリング, Zetto Sutoringu) stretched across the Algorithmic Suit reinforces the transformer's movements and executes every maneuver with an accurate reproducibility rate of over 99.7%.
- Innocent Greaves (イノセントグリーブ, Inosento Gurību): The shin armor. By using the barrier developed from the Marble Cuisses on the thighs, the repulsive force and attractive force applied to itself can be manipulated to can enhance their jumping ability and maneuver speed.
- Zein Sabaton (ゼインサバトン, Zein Sabaton): The foot armor. When the Special Move is activated, by expanding the anti-annihilation field, it is possible to convert the substance that becomes a resistance or obstacle into energy. This nullifies the physical defenses and at the same time improves the destructive power of the kick.

After inserting the aforementioned Rouse Cards inside the King Rouzer, he then dashes towards the enemy and delivers a powerful downward slash, imbued with the power of the used Rouse Cards.
- Super Rider Moon Surface Kick (スーパーライダー月面キック, Supā Raidā Getsumen Kikku): Using Kamen Rider Super-1's Sincere Shaolin Fist (赤心少林拳, Sekishin Shōrin Ken), Zein holds his hand out and performs a pose before pressing the Kamen Rider Zein Progrisekey into the Zein Driver. He then knocks his opponent back before holding both his hands up in front of his head in the air, jumping and kicking his opponent, causing them to explode afterwards.
- Photon Buster (フォトンバスター, Foton Basutā): Using the SB-555T Faiz Blaster, Zein first inputs the code 1-0-3 Enter into the Faiz Blaster, converting it to Blaster Mode. He then activates Exceed Charge on the weapon, aiming it at his opponent before the weapon's muzzle flips open and begins to charge energy. Zein then pulls the trigger, firing a red energy beam that pierces through his opponent and causing them to explode.
- Justice Punishment (ジャスティスパニッシュメント, Jasutisu Panisshumento): Zein inserts a Zein Card before pressing the Kamen Rider Zein Progrisekey twice, allowing him to utilize its abilities at the cost of ripping the card into pieces for a one-time use.
- Revi/Vice Giffard Finish (リバイ／バイスギファードフィニッシュ, Ribai/Baisu Gifādo Finisshu): Zein and Ultimate Vice both become coated in red and blue energies respectively, jumping into the air and performing a flying side-kick at their opponent before magnetically repelling each other, flying at their opponent and magnetically launches them into the air. They then fly into the air, repelling themselves off their enemy while creating a red electrical rope of energy along with a blue one, connected to the enemy as they begin to spin around the latter rapidly. They then perform a flying side-kick once again at their opponent and finish it with a side-kick to the back.

Altair Form (アルタイルフォーム, Arutairu Fōmu) is the default form of Zeronos, using the Zeronos Cards to evoke the change. It is named after the star Altair in the constellation Aquila the Eagle. The "mask" is made up of two green bull's head-shaped visors, the same motif as ZeroLiner Drill, which is based on the mythological occupation of Altair as a cowherd. These form from two bull's head-shaped train cars that ride along the tracks on Zeronos' helmet. The rest of the body has a set of converging train tracks that are almost like a zipper. Altair Form has generally balanced abilities comparable to Den-O's Sword Form.
Altair Form is composed of the following parts:[3]
- DenKamen (電仮面, Den Kamen, lit. ‘Electric Mask’): The green overall bull-like mask. It is a mask dedicated to Altair Form.
- Bull's Scan Eye (ブルズスキャンアイ, Buruzu Sukyan Ai): The eyes. It can see in a wide angle within a wide range. It can distinguish human faces up to 5km away and objects as close as 0.05mm. It also has a night vision function, allowing Zeronos to see targets up to 1km away in the dark thanks to infrared irradiation.
- Horn Trader (ホーントレーダー, Hōn Torēdā): The "horns" on top of the Bull's Scan Eye. They catch air vibration waves and convert them into electrical signals, allowing Zeronos to hear wide range of sounds from 40Hz to 100,000Hz ultrasonic waves.
- O Signal (Oシグナル, O Shigunaru): The red sensor on the forehead. Allows Zeronos to detect Imagin within a range of 2km.
- Zero Breast (ゼロブレスト, Zero Buresuto): The chestplate. It is made out of Aura Armor (オーラアーマー, Ōra Āmā), and can alleviate 10 tons of impact.
- Zero Rail (ゼロレール, Zero Rēru): A rail-shaped mold that runs vertically and around the chest and head. It has the same shape as the rails on Zeronos’ head, and is used as a track for whenever the DenKamen moves.
- Aura Skin (オーラスキン, Ōra Sukin): The bodysuit. It can be considered Zeronos' ‘skin’, and an aura covers it. It has excellent defensive capabilities and reduce currents of 500 volts as well as mage caused by diamond-hard cutting edges.
- Zero Gauntlets (ゼロガントレット, Zero Gantoretto): The forearm armor that stretches to the back of the hands. They are a type of Aura Armor that allows Zeronos to withstand shocks from executing special attacks.
- Wrist Bangles (リストバングル, Risuto Banguru): Golden bracelets around the wrists. They enhance the energy dissipation effect of the mind and body, improving the secretion of adrenaline, therefore improving athletic ability.
- Zero Cuisses (ゼロキュイス, Den Kyuisu): The thigh armor. They discolor depending on Zeronos' form. In Altair Form, they take on a green coloration.
- Zero Poleyns (ゼロポレイン, Den Porein): The knee armor. Increases destructive power of knee kicks.
- Zero Greaves (ゼログリーブ, Den Gurību): The shin armor. They are a type of Aura Armor that protects the shins from any attack.
- Ankle Bangles (アンクルバングル, Ankuru Banguru): Golden anklets around the ankles. They have the same effect as the Wrist Bangles.
- Zero Sabotons (ゼロサバトン, Den Sabaton): The feet. They are a type of Aura Armor that protects the insteps.
