Yuichi Saito (斉藤雄一, Saito Yuichi) is Miyuki Tezuka's friend and the chosen owner of the Card Deck that Tezuka eventually took up.
History[]
He was an excellent pianist, who had lost his ability to play when a mugger (later revealed to be Takeshi Asakura) broke his hands. Shiro Kanzaki later appeared before Yuichi to offer the restoration of his hands by becoming a Rider, but Yuichi refused and was eaten by the monster GuldThunder as a result. This led to his friend Tezuka taking the Card Deck, contracting Evildiver and becoming a Rider to avenge his friend by ending the Rider War.

Yuichi is portrayed by Takashi Nagayama (永山たかし, Nagayama Takashi), who later portrayed Koji Hotei in ROGUE.

- Tamotsu Shinohara, designer of the Mirror Monsters, had designed a conceptual artwork for the Survive Form of Kamen Rider Raia, along with a Rider which was contracted to GuldThunder (4000 AP) instead of Evildiver - presumably the Rider form that Yuichi would have assumed if he did not refuse the offer to become a Rider. This other Rider was named Kamen Rider Blade, preceding the official Kamen Rider Blade. Its first appearance is in the "妄想戯画" (Tamotsu Shinohara's Giga Fancy) part of Uchusen (宇宙船) tokusatsu magazine Vol.104. The design is later included in artbook ICON: Tamotsu Shinohara Character Art Works.
