Yoko Nakamura (中村 ようこ, Nakamura Yōko), better known under her stage name Yōko Shimada (島田 陽子, Shimada Yōko) was a Japanese actress who portrayed Hiromi Nohara in the original Kamen Rider.
Shimada passed away on July 25, 2022 from complications of colorectal cancer.[1]
Biography[]
Shimada began her acting career in the 1970 drama Osanazuma, before she was casted one year later as Hiromi Nohara in Kamen Rider. After her role in Kamen Rider, Shimada went to star in several movies and drama series.
Shimada would later became the first Asian Actress to win a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress category while also was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in the 1980 miniseries Shōgun as Mariko Toda.
