The Transformation Belt Vision Driver (変身ベルト ヴィジョンドライバー, Henshin Beruto Vijon Doraibā) is the transformation device used by Kamen Riders Glare, Glare2, and Gazer.
There are two copies of the Vision Driver. One makes whoever possesses it the current Game Master and transforms the user into Kamen Rider Glare/Glare2, while the other is reserved for producers and transforms the user into Kamen Rider Gazer.
User Variants[]
Design[]
The Vision Driver is composed of the following parts:[1]
- Biometricser (バイオメトリクサー, Baiometorikusā): The biometric authentication device. Fingerprint authentication is used to identify the person transforming and login. Re-authentication is required to activate special functions.
- Vision Reader (ヴィジョンリーダー, Vijon Rīdā): The card reader. By reading the Providence Card and performing higher dimensional customization according to the user's authority, it is possible to transform into a Kamen Rider with various characteristics.
- Vision Reactor (ヴィジョンリアクター, Vijon Riakutā): The degradation furnace. It extracts dark matter from a pseudo-black hole that remains uniform in an internal minimal state and converts it into clean energy. In addition, the front display shows a conceptual model of the furnace operating conditions.
- Charge Up Line (チャージアップライン, Chāji Appu Rain): The belt band. It deploys when the Driver is set and is secured to the user's waist. It also has extremely high flexibility and shear strength to withstand intense combat.
- Providence Card Holder (プロビデンス カード ホルダー, Purobidensu Kādo Horudā): The Providence Card carrying holder. It is located on the right-hand side of the Vision Driver, and one Providence Card can be set in it.
- Upgrade Assemble (アップグレードアセンブル, Appugurēdo Assenburu): The expansion slot. It upgrades Kamen Riders by drawing out the functions of various Raise Buckles that have been set in it. It is also possible to deploy expansion equipment to the Kamen Riders placed under remote control.
Functionality[]
Transformation[]
To enable transformation, the user places their thumb on the Biometricser for authentication. A user whose fingerprint does not match a person who has permission to use that Driver will not be able to transform. Beroba was able to bypass this security by using her Laser Raise Riser to replace her thumb's fingerprint with Chirami's. Suel's status as the founder of the DGP may make him exempt from this restriction, as he was able to use Niram's Vision Driver without issue.
After authentication, swiping the Providence Card in the Vision Reader initiates the transformation. The transformation effect uses a circular diagram, as it passes over the user, forming the armor and drones that glam onto the suit. It differs from user to user, as Glare uses a purple version, Gazer uses an all gold, and Glare2 uses deep purple version.
In the case of Mimei, since she is borrowing the powers of Glare, she can bypass the authentication process completely, allowing her to use Glare's powers without hindrance.
Finisher[]
- Main article: Finisher (Geats)
To initiate a finisher, the user swipes the Providence Card in the Vision Reader after transformation. Swiping it once will initiate the Delete finisher, while swiping it twice will result in the Shut Down finisher.
Brainwashing[]
By re-authenticating after transformation, Kamen Rider Glare/Glare2 can order the Hypnorays to attach to nearby Riders using Desire Drivers, turning them into GM Riders that completely obey the user and can be controlled remotely. By inserting a Raise Buckle in the Upgrade Assemble, the user can transport it to a GM Rider's Desire Driver and transform them into the corresponding form.
Colus activated the brainwashing function without having to transform into Glare. He also used it against civilians, resulting in the targets changing their attire and becoming obedient like the GM Riders.
DGP Management[]
The Game Master's Vision Driver is used to manage the Desire Grand Prix, including changing the rules, creating games and Jyamar Areas, eliminating players, setting Secret Missions, and sending Mission Boxes. Managing the DGP only requires possessing the Vision Driver, not authentication.
Accessing the Goddess of Genesis[]
A Vision Driver is used to transform eligible candidates into a Goddess of Genesis. It also allows the user to teleport to the Room of Goddess of Genesis and user her to grant the desires written on Desire Card. Unlike creating a Goddess of Genesis, travelling to her realm and granting a desire does not require permission to transform with a Vision Driver, only wearing one. Initially, a single wielder of a Vision Driver was able to use the Goddess of Genesis's power. However, after Colus stole Girori's Vision Driver and used it to grant his wish, Niramu changed the system so that both Vision Drivers were required. Suel is able to travel to and from the Room of Goddess of Genesis, as well as force people out of it.
Memory Storage[]
The Vision Driver stores a record of the memories of its previous users named the Eyes of Truth (真実の眼, Shinjitsu no Me). These memories can be accessed and experienced by subsequent users. Like travelling to the Goddess of Genesis, this function only requires wearing a Vision Driver, not authentication.
Fourth-Dimensional Portal Creation[]
The Vision Driver allows the user to open a portal between different time periods. Zitt used this function to invite VIP audience members to the present so they could support Da·Paan and Tycoon in their fight against Geats.
Artificial Lifeform Creation[]
After collecting a tear from Tsumuri containing her power of genesis, Zitt used it with his Vision Driver to create a copy of her, Black Tsumuri.
Users (chronological order)[]
Producer Variant[]
User | Kamen Rider | Episode Obtained | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Suel | Pre-series | Long before the start of the series, Suel used his Vision Driver to transform Mitsume into the Goddess of Genesis. At some point, it was passed on to Niramu. After Samas takes the Vision Driver from Niramu, Suel uses it to initiate the Grand End and transform into Kamen Rider Suel Gazer in order to battle Geats. When he is defeated, Suel returns to the future along with the Vision Driver.[Yearning F: The Nine-Tailed White Fox!] The Driver is later returned to Samas after Zitt is sent to the present. [Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness] | |
Niramu | Pre-series | Niramu presumably was given his Vision Driver when he became the Game Producer of the DGP, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Gazer. During Niramu's battle with Ace at the end of the Jyamato Grand Prix, Michinaga defeated both of them so that he and Beroba could take their Vision Drivers. [Lamentation F: The Last Judgment] Both Vision Drivers were eventually retrieved by Ziin, who then returned Niramu's Driver.[Yearning V: Pure White Destruction] After his second fight with Geats, Niramu confronted Suel but was shot by Samas, who took his Vision Driver before giving it to Suel.[Yearning F: The Nine-Tailed White Fox!]
After Niramu was reanimated in the future, he was shown to have his Vision Driver back. He then used it to send Future Ace back to the past to stop the God Jyamato. He would then lend it to Beroba to deliver his message to the past riders. | |
Beroba | Lamentation F: The Last Judgment | After Michinaga defeated Ace and Niramu, both he and Beroba took the Vision Driver and used them to grant Michinaga's wish. Michinaga later returned Chirami's Vision Driver so that the two could fight, while Beroba retained Niramu's Driver. After Kekera retrieved Chirami's Driver, he and Beroba used the Drivers to grant their wishes. Afterward, the two returned both Drivers to Ziin.[Yearning V: Pure White Destruction]
She would later receive the driver from Niramu before he disappeared, and used it to travel to the past. | |
Samas | Yearning F: The Nine-Tailed White Fox! | When Niramu confronted Suel regarding the next Goddess of Genesis, Samas shot Niramu and took his Vision Driver before giving it to Suel. The Driver was later returned to Samas after Zitt was sent to the present.[Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness] |
Game Master Variant[]
User | Kamen Rider | Episode Obtained | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Girori | Pre-series | Girori was presumably given the Vision Driver when became the Game Master some time before the start of the series, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Glare. Girori temporarily lost the Driver when Colus held Tsumuri hostage to force him to hand it over before imprisoning him. After being freed by Ace, Girori killed Colus in a swordfight and took the Driver back.[Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale] After Girori was removed from his position by Niramu, the latter recovered the Vision Driver.[Conspiracy IR: Fox Hunting] It is assumed that after he became Game Master again later in the series. | |
Colus | Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale | Colus served as the Game Master in the past, and presumably possessed the Vision Driver until he retired. During Girori's tenure, Colus infiltrated the Desire Palace and held Tsumuri hostage to force Girori to hand over the Vision Driver, which he used to brainwash Tsumuri and transform the Desire Grand Prix into the Desire Royale before imprisoning Girori. After being freed by Ace, Girori killed Colus in a swordfight and took the Driver back. | |
Chirami | Divergence VI: Pursuit! Catch the Chirami Demon! | Chirami was given the Vision Driver offscreen when he was appointed to replace Girori as the Game Master, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Glare2. Chirami was later defeated by Beroba, who took the Driver from him.
| |
Beroba | After defeating Chirami, Beroba took his Vision Driver so that she could visit the Goddess of Genesis, though Niramu would reveal to her that both Vision Drivers were now necessary to grant a wish. When Chirami attempts to take his Driver back, Beroba uses her Laser Raise Riser to change her fingerprint into a copy of Chirami's, allowing her to transform into Glare2 as well.
| ||
Michinaga Azuma | Lamentation IV: Bonding LaserBoost! | After Beroba was defeated by Geats, Michinaga took the Vision Driver from her so that he could travel to where the Goddess of Genesis was kept. It also granted him control of the Jyamato Grand Prix, allowing him to create the Bullfighting Game.
| |
Ace Ukiyo | Lamentation F: The Last Judgment | During a battle with Michinaga, Ace is able to take the Vision Driver from him and reunite with his mother. During Ace's battle with Niramu soon after, Michinaga defeated both of them so that he and Beroba could take their Vision Drivers. [Lamentation F: The Last Judgment]
After Ziin retrieves the Vision Drivers from Beroba and Kekera, he gives the one formerly possessed by the Game Masters to Ace so that he can visit his mother. Ace lost the Vision Driver when Suel forced him out of the area housing the Goddess of Genesis.[Yearning V: Pure White Destruction] | |
Kekera | Yearning II: Geats' Aim of Attack | Kekera retrieved Chirami's Driver after the latter was killed by Buffa. He and Beroba later use both Vision Drivers to grant their wishes before returning them to Ziin.[Yearning V: Pure White Destruction] | |
Suel | Yearning V: Pure White Destruction | When Ace visited his mother for the second time, Suel forced him out of the realm and took the Vision Driver. He then used it to transport the Goddess of Genesis to the normal world. When Geats transformed into Boost MarkIII and attempted to reach her, Suel disappeared along with the Goddess of Genesis, returning her to her usual location. | |
Zitt | Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness(offscreen) | Zitt was presumably given the Vision Driver after becoming the Game Master. After capturing Tsumuri, he used it to transform her into into a new Goddess of Genesis. He later uses the Driver to open a portal to the future, allowing in VIP audience members who hope to see Geats' defeat.[Genesis VII: Where Wishes Go] After gathering a tear from Tsumuri, he uses it with his Vision Driver to create Black Tsumuri. [Genesis VIII: Goodbye, Michi] |

Portrayal[]
The voice of the Vision Driver is provided by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (松岡 禎丞, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu), who also voices Suel and the Laser Raise Riser.[2]
Notes[]
- While the Vision Driver can utilize Raise Buckles, it is the first Driver in Geats to not use them as the main means of transformation, instead relying on the Providence Card.
- When the DX Vision Driver was first revealed, the transformation jingle for Glare had a different background music. This was later changed to match its appearance in the TV show.
- The DX Vision Driver's Biometricer is a simple button rather than a fingerprint scanner.
- In the show, the Biometricer only needs to be touched once, and the Rider form accessed is dependent on the user's fingerprint. The toy version instead has to be pressed a certain number of times to change the mode: once for Glare, twice for Gazer, and three times for Glare2; there is a workaround that if a Raise Buckle is inserted into the Upgrade Assemble, the belt will remember the last Rider selected.
- The Feverslot, Command Twin, Powered Builder, and Jyamato Buckles, as well as the Laser Raise Riser, are all announced as "Great" by the Vision Driver.
- Raise Buckles that produce their own sounds do not require manual activation after being inserted into the Vision Driver's Upgrade Assemble. Instead, all of the Vision Driver's sounds play automatically after the Raise Buckle is inserted.
