Tsunenori Aoki (青木 玄徳, Aoki Tsunenori) is a Japanese actor best known for his role as Aguri Kusugami
in Garo: Yami wo Terasu Mono. He portrayed Ryoma Sengoku/Kamen Rider Duke in Kamen Rider Gaim.
Biography[]
Aoki signed into Dolce-Star as a model first, before making his acting debut in the Prince of Tennis musicals. He made his television debut in Garo, and later Kamen Rider Gaim the same year. Since then, he has acted in films, dramas, and on stage.
In 2018, Aoki was subject to a scandal which resulted in an hiatus. He returned to entertainment in 2020 and signed with a new agency.
Personal Life[]
- Due to him having been type-cast as characters with serious and cool personalities, Aoki found it hard to get rid of that when portraying Ryoma Sengoku.
- Ryoma's transformation pose was created by Aoki when he was he a child.
- Aoki watched Denko Chojin Gridman as as child.
- Aoki married dancer Yuki Teresawa in 2023. Their first child, a son, was born in October 2023.[1]
Legal Issues[]
In April 5, 2018, Aoki was arrested for sexual assault, later admitting that his inexcusable actions were due to his alcoholic intoxication at the time. This resulted in him being let go by his agency and many of his appearances canceled.[2] Dolce-Star then announced that Aoki's contract was going to end anyway, as Aoki was planning on transferring to a different agency during the time of his arrest. 15 days after his first incident, he was caught on camera for (his now second act of) indecent assault, later stating his intoxication for the reason once again. [3] The police dropped all charges at the end of the month, and Aoki took a hiatus from entertainment. He made a comeback two years later with a new agency.
