Tsumuri (ツムリ ) is the current navigator of the Desire Grand Prix. She was Mitsume's temporary successor as the Goddess of Genesis (創世の女神, Sōsei no Megami) until Ace absorbed her powers.
History[]
Background[]
Tsumuri was personally created by Suel to manage the Desire Grand Prix as its navigator, sometime after the death of Miiru. Designed to take her place, Tsumuri had powers similar to her predecessor Mitsume given by the management. [Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness] Upon her creation, Niramu assigned her as the Navigator for his Desire Grand Prix and taught her about the world's "reality". Daybreak/Encounter Arc[]
For the last six months of 2022, Tsumuri had been recruiting new players and navigating them through the Desire Grand Prix. In the final round, Tsumuri sent the final contenders Ace Ukiyo, Michinaga Azuma, and Takeshi Goutokuji into battle, later declaring Ace as Deza Shin before continuing her job to recruit others.
As the next edition of the DGP began, Tsumuri was tasked with inviting Ace back for the tournament, though she began questioning his motives as he was attempting to test the DGP's wish granting ability. After informing everyone at the Desire Temple during orientation, she oversaw the first round of the Treasure Hunting Game, which had six Riders left remaining.
Tsumuri also kept account of the rule violators, warning Keiwa Sakurai not to publicly disclose the Desire Grand Prix to the public. She is also asked about the whereabouts of the eliminated players, responding that she believes only the Jyamato know. After Kanato Sumida and Morio Koganeya were individually eliminated, she collected their Desire Drivers and announced their disqualifications.
During the final round, Tsumuri unexpectedly called the four players left to face the Saboten Knight Jyamato. The Jyamato proved to be resilient in spite of the efforts of the other Riders. She and the Game Master provided the players unique eggs to hatch new Raise Buckles. Ace received the Monster Buckle, which he then utilized to take down the last boss. After declaring him the winner, Tsumuri was horrified by what he had written on the Desire Card, but was compelled to relent and grant him his ideal world, to make her and Girori his family.
Conspiracy Arc[]
In the reset world, Ace became Tsumuri's younger brother, and Girori became their father, which she was very upset about, openly talking to Girori about how she wanted Ace to be eliminated for it. As a new round of the DGP began, she went out with Ace and gave Desire Drivers out to the new participants, including Michinaga. She continued to watch on as the first round commenced, and many of the Riders were either eliminated or killed by the Pirate Jyamato. She was then sent halfway through the round to give Neon Kurama a new Driver and re-enter her into the game as a late entry, due to the amount of eliminations in the first round, and because her father was a sponsor of the game.
During the second round of the game, she got trapped in the Jyamato Labyrinth along with the Riders and several civilians, including Keiwa. She was paired as Win Hareruya's civilian to save, and as Win tried to sabotage the game to ensure Ace would be eliminated under orders from Girori, they would eventually make it to the top of the castle, where they found the book containing the key to the code needed to escape, and a voice recorder with recordings of the Jyamato language on it, discovering that they had been left by previous participants who had failed to escape. Ace soon made his way there and stole the book, with Tsumuri stepping in to stop Win and Ace from fighting each other. In the end, she was able to escape with the rest of the Riders and civilians.
As Win's attempts to sabotage Ace and prevent him from winning continued to fail, Girori became more and more paranoid of him winning, bending the game's rules as he pleased in order to stop him. Throughout this, Tsumuri continued to follow the game's rules, questioning her superior whether it was right to rig the game against Ace, still standing for staff neutrality. Girori ignored her, and after he eliminated Ace himself as Glare, she would still honor Ace's first wish to "play in the DGP until he dies", and gave him back his Driver and Core ID once he had regained his memories. When Keiwa and Neon confronted her and Girori about the secrets they are hiding, Tsumuri suggested that it was finally time for the Riders to know, however she was silenced by Girori, who then left.
As Girori became more petty and manipulated the game to not end upon the elimination of the boss and setting up the "Fox Hunt Game", she eventually aided Ace from behind the scenes by bringing him food and then brought Ace, Keiwa and Neon their qualification entries into the next game, which was compensation by DGP staff for the unfair game they were forced to play. Upon being questioned about the nature of the DGP, Tsumuri reveals that the players are in fact on a popular reality game show to entertain the wealthy sponsors and people in the audience, revealing the cloaked cameras and observation areas around the Desire Temple.
Divergence Arc[]
As the new round of DGP restarted as an entertainment show, Chirami was brought in as the new Game Master while Tsumuri introduced the rules for the upcoming Desastar game, warning the players that each round will end with each player voting to disqualify someone as the secret Desastar. During the third round, she reported to the players about letters being sent by the Jyamato while announcing the Time Bomb game.
After the end of the bombgame, the continued absence of Jyamato forced Chirami and Tsumuri to make their own fourth round. However that resulted in an opportunity for Beroba to steal Chirami's Vision Driver. Due to this circumstance, Tsumuri announced to the players the termination of the game and the voting. Wanting to reveal the truth of the Desire Grand Prix to Ace and the other players who were interested in hearing it, Niramu did not allow it and ordered them to take back the Vision Driver from Beroba. The operation failed, and Beroba was successful in resetting the world to her own vision.
Lamentation Arc[]
With the beginning of the Jyamato Grand Prix under Beroba's administration, the DGP staff can only monitor the Jyamato from behind-the-scenes while being forced to rely on the Riders to deal with them, who selflessly protect the city with no reward. While Ace helps to protect the Lightning Festival, he asks Tsumuri to help run it and get the event moving forward in spite of their current crisis. During the Sengoku Game, Tsumuri accompanied Chirami who tried to take back his Vision Driver, but carelessly had his fingerprints copied by Beroba. During the Bull-fighting game, Tsumuri was shocked to hear of Neon's backstory.
Yearning Arc[]
With Michinaga's victory after Ace and Niramu's apparent death, Tsumuri questioned Chirami why he continued to recruit new Riders despite the game being unable to continue. After being responded that it was for the sake of entertainment, Tsumuri, depressingly, re-recruited Neon, Ben, John, and several other players back despite knowing the cruel fate that awaits them should they die. With Buffa on the loose and Chirami presuming Ace dead for good, Tsumuri's wishes for Ace's return, which is then granted due to her innate connection with the Goddess of Genesis. Although she is happy that Ace is back, he is taken back by the fact that he is now against the Desire Grand Prix.
Genesis Arc[]
After Ace defeated Suel and prevented the Grand End, the newly reformed Desire Grand Prix under Ace's ownership had Tsumuri once again take over as navigator. However as the Jyamato still existed, Tsumuri and Ace investigated the Jyamar Garden and discovered that Daichi Isuzu had taken up the work left behind by Archimedel. With the Jyamato still a threat and both Beroba and Kekera still in their era, Michinaga and Keiwa are both recruited back into their fold to help the fight. However Michinaga and Keiwa's relationship falls apart when Michinaga accidentally kills Keiwa's sister Sara Sakurai. Wanting to actually protect people, Keiwa approached Tsumuri for it and she granted him the power of Bujin Sword Buckle, allowing Keiwa to enact a crusade of revenge and bring back all the sacrificed victims. In an effort to truly bring that to light, Keiwa kidnaps Tsumuri for the new Game Master Zitt, who forcibly transforms Tsumuri into the Goddess of Genesis, though trying to resist the process, Tsumuri lose her will as result, allowing Zitt to capture her and grant Keiwa's wish.
However this backfires as the wish brought back all killed players, which also included criminals such as Kazuo Numabukuro and Kirito Asari, as well as the notorious criminal group the Gang Riders, leaving the world into a chaos, though Tsumuri's will slowly recovers, she can only watch the people remain in panic and Keiwa continue falling to the dark side. During the duel between Geats IX and Tycoon Bujin Sword, Tsumuri manages to escape with the help of Win Hareruya and return to Ace, who then absorbs all of Tsumuri's powers and becomes the God of Genesis himself, reverting Tsumuri back to the original appearance as the Navigator. After Suel returned from the future and started the Final Desire Grand Prix, Tsumuri and Ace once returns to the house they lived with Girori after the first day of the game, surprising to see the latter's return. When the game of the second day begins however, Black Tsumuri has controlled Tsumuri's body in the moment where everyone has leave the Desire Temple and manipulates her into killing Ace, not knowing that it was part of Ace's plan. After the shooting, Ace reassured to the devastated Tsumuri that everything was going to be okay as he set off for his final battle with Suel.
After Suel was defeated and Ace reset the world, Ziin and Tsumuri set up a small shrine at a temple for Ace, and thanked him for protecting the world. Although the world may have forgotten him, she never will, and neither will Ziin.
The four aces and the black fox[]
Tsumuri reports the appearance of the Jyamato Tree created by Mela and Melo towards the participants of the Desire Grand Prix to deal with the Jyamatos. When the world was divided into four, Tsumuri was forced to go into one of the world, which affects her clothing to become torn and feels weird on Ace of Luck's actions to escape from battle by relying on luck and not fighting back. After the three fragments of Ace was captured by the Jyamato, Tsumuri later realized the identities of the duo and restrain Ace of Heart in the Desire Temple, not letting him to fight, but she released him after hearing the words of Tanba Ittetsu. When Mela destroyed the world with his powers as XGeats, Tsumuri delivers the Oneness Raise Buckle to Ace. When Melo tries to use the bomb to destroy the world again, Tsumuri appears and defeats her with a kick. With Mela being defeated by Ace and the world was reverted to normal, Tsumuri welcomes Ace's return along with the Riders.
Encounter with Kamen Rider Gotchard[]
Tsumuri went to support the Riders when she receives the message of Jyamato appearance, but feel astonished when she see the three Riders becoming Chemies, she then host the Chemy catching game for the Riders and alchemists. After the inicident ends, she returns to the shrine of Geats to continue protecting it.
God Jyamato's awakening[]
When the Riders encounter the new appearance of Queen Jyamato, Tsumuri reports to Ace and Daichi its existence, though she feels shocked of its ability to give birth to a child as Jyamato originally does not posses such functionality. When Ace from future appears, Tsumuri soon recognizes his origin due to his usage of fourth-dimensional portal, though she was surprised for the return of Beroba from the future. After Michinaga successfully changes the fate of Haruki, who will become the God Jyamato in the original future timeline, Tsumuri is seen to welcome the return of the Riders alongside with Sara and Daichi.
Project Outsiders[]
In the shrine for Ace, Tsumuri finds a plague with the wish of Kuroto Dan on it, who hopes to have a child of his own. Curious of it and knowing his past, Tsumuri visits Kuroto at the game area of a game created by him, the two later went to the location of Zein, who has just defeated a Ride-Player, Tsumuri witnessed the battle between Zein and Kuroto who transformed into Genm Hyper Fumetsu, where Kuroto suddenly detransform by himself after he use the Gashacon Bugvisor to absorb the data of the Zero-two Zein Card, which has been executed by Zein. Zein grabs Kuroto when the latter suddenly ask if his wish can come true if he prays, Tsumuri admits it and Kuroto responded that he will give up his name of god to pray for his wish, but he was crushed immediately by Zein just after he inserts some data from Bugvisor into his Humagear Module. Tsumuri griefs for Kuroto's death, when Kamen Rider Zero-Three appears and absorbs a tear drops from her eyes to revive Kuroto as a human using Life On Big Bang, which put Tsumuri on surprise, she later become astonished as she heards Kuroto's explanation for his wish is to create a new life of his own, by using the powers of super A.I. and the Goddess of Genesis.
Personality[]
Tsumuri is a game navigator who generally speaks in a soft, refined, yet monotone way, though she can be cheerful and excited on some occasions, such as in the start of a new game, when presenting the Desire Grand Prix as the world's saviors from the Jyamato. Tsumuri also can display some disappointment, as seen with Takahito Taira's elimination and Ace's wish for her to be his older sister.
Tsumuri does not favor one participant over another, following orders to stay neutral to all players. However, with Girori's order to eliminate Ace, she becomes more hesitant in doing so. Beneath her unflappable nature however, Tsumuri carries strong sense of fair play, and is dedicated into enforcing the Desire Grand Prix's rules fairly, shown in her stopping the fight between Ace and Win, and becoming defiant of Girori's abuse and rule-bending in an attempt to eliminate Ace, proclaiming to him that the secrets of the Desire Grand Prix should no longer be kept a secret. Additionally, she shows immense care for the players, not wanting their lives to be at harm and wasted, even praying for Ace to return.
Whenever she is conversing with Girori during his time as the Game Master, Tsumuri showed a level of caution around him, being hesitant to defy his authority. However, Tsumuri held no circumspections whenever she converses with Chirami, pointing out his flaws and becoming annoyed of his antics. Additionally, she becomes more frustrated with Chirami's actions, such as her bewilderment to the Game Master's decisions to waste many civilian lives to defeat Buffa in order to restart the Desire Grand Prix.
When Colus hacked her for the Desire Royale, Tsumuri's personality and appearance drastically changed to be more gothic and outgoing. She reverted back to her old ways once she was freed by Girori.
Powers and Abilities[]
Former Powers[]
- Reality Warping: As she was designed to become the successor to the Goddess of Genesis, Tsumuri had a portion of the Goddess's powers embedded within her as part of her creation. This allows her to warp reality and shape the world to her desire, similar to Mitsume and Ace. Though her powers were initially limited, they would continue to develop as a result of her growing compassion towards the DGP participants, ultimately culminating in her full awakening with her strong desire to be with Ace's side. After her will echoes with Ace's and Keiwa's, her powers were all transferred to Ace, no longer possessing this power.
- Life Restoration: Tsumuri can revive dead players just by holding their Rider Core ID as long as said IDs remained intact, as shown when she revived Ace Ukiyo via holding his ID Core. With her powers awaken, she can revive lives when her powers echoed with other's wish.
- Raise Buckle Creation: If needed to, Tsumuri can create new Raise Buckles with her willpower, as seen with the Bujin Sword Buckle on Keiwa Sakurai's request.
- Teleportation: Tsumuri was seen to be able to teleport herself and Zitt to Keiwa's hideout when she resisted the process to become the Goddess of Genesis.
Abilities[]
- Combatant: Tsumuri managed to fend off a few Ninja Jyamato when Chirami was apprehended by Beroba.
- Fourth Wall Interaction: On two occasions, Tsumuri looks at and talks directly to the audience to recap the previous episodes' events.
- Willpower: With Tsumuri's resolve to stay by Ace Ukiyo's side, she resisted Zitt's control to temporarily halt her transformation into the second Goddess of Genesis. Despite this, her transformation was already underway resulting in her appearance being altered, and much of her conscious will being suppressed. [Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness] However, her consciousness began to recover over time, seemingly as a result of Ace's powers resonating with her own.
Weaknesses[]
- Black Tsumuri: As Black Tsumuri was originally part of herself, Black Tsumuri can possess Tsumuri to force her under her biddings.
Relationships[]
Family[]
Friends and Allies[]
- Ace Ukiyo/Kamen Rider Geats: Tsumuri initially was very indifferent towards Ace, ignoring his attempts at flirting with her. She was disgusted at Ace's wish to make her his older sister, but tried to tolerate it, however privately she still holds resentment towards Ace for making her part of his family. However, she also defies her co-worker's attempts to eliminate him, even continuing to help him, still honouring his past wishes for example, because she continues to follow her duty as staff to be neutral towards all participants, even as Girori and Win attempted to rig the game against him. When Ace revealed that his true goal in the DGP was to find his mother, and mentioned her name, she initially refused to tell him any information, however, over time, she came to support him in his goal of destroying the game, freeing her, and creating a world where everyone can be happy. When she was captured by Keiwa, and Zitt and Samas attempted to turn her into the second Goddess of Genesis, her will to stand by him and the support he had given her over time allowed her to reject the full transformation, and keep her free will intact, showing how close they had grown over time, even though she still doesn't recognize him as her brother. Under the influence of her dark self, Tsumuri shot Ace, leaving her devastated. But Ace comforts her knowing that this would happen on his path as the new God of Genesis, as he says his farewell as a human life on his way to help his comrades against Suel.
- Keiwa Sakurai/Kamen Rider Tycoon: Tsumuri shows an interest in Keiwa's wish of world peace in the first game, and she often keeps a close eye on him, especially with his communication with his sister, Sara, to make sure he doesn't leak the existence of the DGP to her. She initially held no personal feelings towards him, but by the time of his sister's death, she felt a deep sadness for him, and honoured his wish for a new buckle so he could seemingly avenge her. However, her desire to be close is later exploited by Keiwa, who kidnaps her to make her the new Goddess of Genesis and revive his sister. Eventually Ace snaps him out of that phase with Tsumuri's help and restart the world, returning Keiwa to Ace's side in the process.
- Neon Kurama/Kamen Rider Na-Go: Tsumuri originally also does not hold any personal feelings towards Neon's activities in DGP, but upon knowing the truth of her existence during the Jyamato Grand Prix, she starts to feel pity for Neon being criticized and suffering despite not knowing anything about her true existence. When Neon was being recruited to fight against Michinaga who become Jyamar Shin, she also feels hesitate to give out her ID Core and Desire Driver showing her care for not wanting Neon to suffer again.
- Michinaga Azuma/Kamen Rider Buffa: At first Tsumuri sees Michinaga as just another competitor, but after he changes his goal to eliminate all the Riders, she begins to see him as an dangerous enemy. After he no longer has that goal, Tsumuri sees him as a competitor again and later a comrade against Suel.
- Win Hareruya/Kamen Rider PunkJack: Tsumuri recruited Win as Kamen Rider PunkJack to be Morio's partner. In the Third Onscreen Game, she initially felt uncomfortable when Win's attempt to flirt with her, despite knowing this is only Win's acting. She would continue to feel uncomfortable with Win's attempts to sabotage Ace through the game, and would stop them from settling it by force in the Jyamato Labyrinth. Though she still sees Win as a fellow worker and feels unfair for Win being controlled by Girori to self-destruct just to bring down Ace, after Win returns to Desire Royale, they beings to develop friendship to help Ace finding his mother's origins. The friendship between the two of them has become deepen when Ace recruit them to become the staffs for his own DGP.

In the Conspiracy Arc, she would begin to question his deliberate bending of the rules in his attempts to eliminate Ace, as she still stood for staff neutrality, defying him by the time the final round began by honouring Ace's previous wishes and giving his powers back after he was eliminated and re-entered the game. And during the Bad End crisis, Girori returns supporting Ace against Suel.

Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
Tsumuri is portrayed by Kokoro Aoshima (青島 心, Aoshima Kokoro), who previously portrayed Alice Hiromi in Zero: Dragon Blood.
Etymology[]
- Tsumuri's name is derived from "to close the eyes" (瞑り, Tsumuri) in Japanese. The meaning of this name symbolizes her character forced to divert her attention from the oppressive nature of the DGP management.[1]
Notes[]
- Aoshima rejected the idea of having Tsumuri become a Kamen Rider, expressing a preference to concentrate on everyone else shining rather than taking on the role of a Rider herself.[2]
