  • This discussion is for where we should place this template aside from the obvious entries of X, Amazon and Shin.

    http://kamenrider.wikia.com/wiki/Template:ViewerAdvisory

I would also appreciate any feedback from the administration about any possible design changes/variants or how much we can implement this into other Tokupedia sites.

I originally saw this as a Garo Wiki only template, but there is possible content in these shows that some viewers in western countries would find objectionable.

The big factors we are going to focus on are the "Three Bs" : Blood, Breasts or Butts (Nudity) and Brutality (Violence).

    • so but what level of Blood and Brutailty determines viewer adviosory I mean their are always a little of both in each rider series even less serious ones like Fourze.

        Loading editor
    • In terms of brutality, I'm talking like the final fight in Kuuga. Lots of blood and two men beating each other to death. Nudity is something we don't see very often in this series, so that is  somewhat of a non-factor unless it pops up.

Blood does show up in this series, but we can't abuse the label for every little scrape or cut characters get, they need to get hurt REAL BAD for that.

    • I'm thinking nudity would be something like the recent ToQGer sumo wrestlers?

        Loading editor
    • Problem with that is Male Nudity is subjective....

Zanki dead and naked in that one episode of Hibiki would raise a flag, but two fat guys wearing traditional sumo garb hardly qualifies. (Unless the camera angle is at an awkward point)

    • Toqcrack
I dunno, he's pretty exposed there.

    • Isn't that normal for sumo wrestling?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, but I thought the point of these warnings was for what Western audiences, particularly parents, might not like?

        Loading editor
    • People in the west know what Sumo wrestling is. And as Zero mentions, that's pretty normal for that. And thus somewhat expected. It would be more suited for unexpected nudity.

    • Kuuga, Agito, The First, The Next, and Shin all have the advisory label, along with one specific Ryuki episode. I removed it from Gaim though. The only blood there is minor cuts, and Hase, Sid and Takatora's deaths weren't gory.

    • I have not seen Ryuki in a while..but I do recall most of the deaths were not that bloody..just the penultimate episode. (The fact they cut away in softens the blow of shock value a bit)

Gaim, while darker than previous Neo-Heisei shows is still relatively tame compared to the early Heisei era.

Blade...might qualify on the one episode: the battle with Kazuma and Joker..but the jury is still out on that.

    • I have some doubts on whether this Template can be used on Ranger Wiki. Not many instances I can recall that raise a red flag. Gaosilver bathing in the hot spring, Shinkenred being stabbed by Juuzo, and Choujin Sentai Jetman.

    • I think the most violent scene in KR that I have seen (it shocked me) was Kuuga's last battle. However, Shin was also kind of scary because of a guy mutating grossly into a grasshopper. It is inapropiate in my opinion.

And Gaim. It is indeed dark but not sufficiently bloody or violent to be added into this category. The most bloody scene in Gaim has been where Kaito's arm was hurt by Redyue and blood fell from it. However, it was instantly. Probably that one episode should get the warning template but not the whole series.

About Sentai. There have been bloody, violent, and weird scenes in it as well. (eg. Abaranger EP48, when Mikoto Amano died he released a lot of blood from his body, mouth. He was covered in it. Or GaoSilver's bath.) And I don't think Takeru being stabbed by Juuzo such a traumatic scene as Mikoto's death.

    • the deaths of the Gaorangers too. (Before their revival shortly thereafter)

        Loading editor
    • Yeah you're right. Deaths in Sentai are usually more tragic than in Kamen Rider

        Loading editor
    • Regarding Sentai: I think the only other series aside from Jetman that deserves the "advisory" warning is probably J.A.K.Q. The show, particularly early on, is really dark with a lot of deaths much more "adult" spying scenarios than what it eventually becomes (even if Sentai is typically seen as more cartoonish than Riders); let alone we have other adult matters to tend to...like the Nazi monster during the later period with Big One. Otherwise other than sometimes disturbing imagry, I don't see the need with Sentai.

    • Well I asked about Ranger Wiki because the template is up there now...so use it wisely.

        Loading editor
    • We need to have a discussion thread for the Viewer Advisory warning template on each wiki that has it, I think. It should be discussed and not just placed on pages without good reason.

        Loading editor
    • Well, Garo Wiki's are placed based on my watching of the show. But I understand if that is not enough to go on...

Metal Heroes ....we don't have enough data to confirm anything... I did see a clip of Jiban using his Perfect Form...really non-kid friendly seeing bad guys get shot up by a machine gun fire..but that was just one episode.....

Aside from Kikiader, Zubat and Tokupedia...We don't need this anywhere else..buuut better safe than sorry...

        Loading editor
    • Garo's just more violent in general isn't it? It's more the main four wikis I was concerned about - Rangerwiki, Metal Heroes, Tokupedia, and here.
