A tragedy[1] had affected the Sword of Logos' swordsmen 15 years predating Kamen Rider Saber. Fearing the Earth's destruction in the future, Hayato Fukamiya abducted Luna to obtain the Almighty Book, while his teammates were distracted by the Megid. However, Daichi Kamijo ended the ceremony and slew Hayato in a decisive battle. This tragedy caused many casualties as Touma Kamiyama lost most of his childhood memories, while swordsmen had diminished since.
History
Prelude
The Master Logos at the time, Isaac had become increasingly bored with the state of the world and wanted to break free of his family's duties, so he sought the Almighty Book to claim all the Seiken and remake the world in his image. To prevent anyone from potentially interfering with his secret alliance with Storious, he had the Four Sages eliminated discreetly, with no one knowing that they were gone until Isaac had admitted it. For the last 2000 years since the Sword of Logos' founding, Storious and his two closest aids, Zooous and Legeiel, had amassed a giant army of Megid, waiting to be unleashed into the city at Isaac's command. However, their plans were intercepted by Hayato Fukamiya, who received a dark vision from Ankokuken Kurayami that whatever Isaac had planned, it succeeded. Enlightened by this fact, Isaac told Hayato that all was for the sake of protecting the world and convinced him to help.
Hayato was promptly told about a girl named Luna, whom Isaac believed to be the reincarnation of the Priestess from 2000 years ago and acted as a bridge between Earth and Wonder World while being the guardian to the Almighty Book, and was ordered to kidnap her as Isaac desperately needed her for his plans. However as Wonder World sensed that this would spell the demise of Luna and Tassel, it had Luna choose a young Touma Kamiyama as its new guardian. Hayato began his act of kidnapping her, but discovered that Luna had become friends with his very own son, Kento Fukamiya. Though Hayato hesitated to kidnap his son's friend, he ultimately committed the deed and Storious unleashed the Megid into the city.
The War
Having ignited an all-out war, the Northern Base became shocked that Hayato was the forefront of all the chaos and dispatched to quell the civilians. As Hayato was initially successful in kidnaping Luna, Wonder World foiled the act and brought Luna back. Hayato, having become blinded by the visions he received, attacks Touma and his former teammate Daichi Kamijo, who protects Touma. This would become known as one of the most instrumental feats that would effectively end the war, as the bridge between Earth and Wonder World was closed. In the final duel, Daichi slays Hayato for his treacherous acts but comes to the realization that there was more to the war than what was let on, which led into him becoming the next Kamen Rider Calibur.
Aftermath
Both Kyoichiro Shinsen and Amane Kagami, Kamen Riders Espada and Kenzan respectively, both perished at the hands of a powerful Megid, Desast, who would later be one of the Megid sent back. Kenshin Nagamine was killed by Zooous during the war. Constant use of Onjuuken Suzune resulted in it becoming damaged, causing Tetsuo Daishinji to lose his ability to transform into Kamen Rider Slash. Touma Kamiyama, having been saved by Daichi, inherited Daichi's Brave Dragon book and lost his memories of the War.
