Takeru Satoh (佐藤 健, Satō Takeru) is a Japanese actor who portrayed Ryotaro Nogami/Kamen Rider Den-O in the Kamen Rider Den-O series until Saraba Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown, with his most recent reprisal of the role in Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER. He was affiliated with Amuse from 2006 to 2021, and is currently affiliated with Co-LaVo, a new agency founded by Amuse.

Biography

Satoh was scouted by Amuse in Harajuku while he was still in high school and debuted as an actor in 2006, staring in the drama Princess Princess D. In 2007, he was cast into the lead role of Ryotaro Nogami in Kamen Rider Den-O, and made his film debut in Kamen Rider Den-O: I'm Born!.

After the end of his tenure as Ryotaro, Satoh continued to star in multiple dramas and films, quickly expanding his popularity within the Japanese entertainment industry. In November of 2018, Satoh made his first ever overseas event at Chara Expo USA in Anaheim, California to promote his new calendar.[1].

In 2021, Satoh starred in two additional sequels of Rurouni Kenshin, titled Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning.

Personal Life

  • Satoh enjoys playing Othello during his free time. He had played a game against the Japanese world champion on live television.
  • Satoh is skilled in breakdancing, which is actively shown on Den-O through Ryutaros' possession of his character.
  • Satoh is very close with Dori Sakurada, who portrays Kotaro Nogami in the series.
  • Satoh has been playing basketball since middle school. He also has a black-belt in Shorinji Kempo.

  • Satoh starred in Princess Princess D alongside fellow Kamen Rider Den-O actors Yuichi Nakamura and Hideo Ishiguro.
  • He also starred in the live action film adaptation of the BakumanIcon-crosswiki manga. He portrayed Moritaka Mashiro.
  • Satoh's appearance at Chara Expo in 2018 would make him the second Heisei-era Rider to make an American convention appearance, with the first being Renn Kiriyama. However, Kiriyama's appearance was for Kamen Rider, while Satoh's was for his own personal project.
