This article is about a Rider in Kamen Rider Geats. |
Takahito Taira (平 孝人, Taira Takahito) was an office manager who participated in the Desire Grand Prix as Kamen Rider Ginpen (仮面ライダーギンペン, Kamen Raidā Ginpen).
History
Background
Takahito Taira is the human resources manager at an IT company. Takahito was a loving husband and father, however, his son Naoto suffered from an incurable illness.
Daybreak/Encounter Arc
Prior to participating in the Desire Grand Prix, Takahito interviewed Keiwa Sakurai for a position. While he found him admirable, he ultimately turning him down for not providing a specific goal for the future. He would be selected to participate in the second known Desire Grand Prix by Tsumuri. He reunites with Keiwa again when the two competed together, with Takahito fighting for the chance to save his son.
- "It's the end of the road for me... To die leaving behind a son in pain, what a foolish father... I just wanted to save my son...!"
- ―Takahito's final words before his elimination[src]
He reunited with Keiwa after saving him from the Jyamato and obtained the Arrow Buckle. Takahito spoke with the young man and confided his wish to him. Having obtained a Raise Buckle in the first round, Takahito was among the seven contestants to make it to the next round. In the second round, Takahito recklessly attacked the Jyamato, which led to his defeat and fatal injury. He died in Keiwa's arms, lamenting his failure to save his son.
Legacy
Takahito's death weighed heavily on Keiwa's mind. As Keiwa continued on in the Desire Grand Prix, he would use the Arrow Buckle in the following rounds. Though Takahito was no longer alive to see so, his son Naoto was able to receive surgery through a donation from Ace Ukiyo. Keiwa would visit his company the next day, learning that his family was worried about him and had filed a report with the police.
His Rider Core ID was later collected by Archimedel and fed to premature Jyamato. When Keiwa fought against a Jyamato Rider, it started to utter a line similar to what Takahito previously uttered, which Keiwa started to notice.
Takahito would later be revived offscreen by Keiwa, though the former's whereabouts remain unknown.[Genesis III: The Jet-Black Shogun] Regardless, his resurrection was soon undone with the rest of Keiwa's wish.
Personality
From what little is known about Takahito, he appeared to be a loving husband and father. However, he showed a weariness to the world, initially dismissing Keiwa's aspirations of world peace as too vague a goal.
