"Shocker? No, but I am an expert on Shutters." This article would be much better if it had a picture to go with it, another picture in addition to the one(s) it has, or a better version of a picture it has now. If you have one, won't you upload it? |
Reason: Needs individual pictures of figures. |
This article is about a toyline in the Kamen Rider Series. |
Super Imaginative Chogokin (スーパーイマジネイティブ超合金, Sūpā Imajineitibu Chōgōkin), abbreviated as S.I.C. (エス・アイ・シー, Esu Ai Shī), are a line of metallic die-cast figurines created by Bandai Spirits exclusively for works created by Shotaro Ishinomori. Though intentional, figurines do not match the appearance of their original televised or drawn counterparts and are heavily re-designed to fit towards a darker theme.
History[]
With the popularity of action figures around the world from series such as Todd McFarlane's Spawn and Bandai's other Master Grade products for adult fans, Bandai hired Takayuki Takeya to sculpt for a new line of figurines. The line debuted in December 1998 with Kikaider, which later grew in popularity and spun-off in 2000 to cover the Kamen Rider Series, starting with the original Kamen Rider.
The name Chogokin (超合金 ) was inspired by the fictitious material from the manga series Mazinger Z, to which the series received figurines adaptations from Popy. The release of the original GA-01 from the series had sparked a huge popularity craze for the line, to which even after Popy had become Bandai, still continued the line to this day.[1].[2] Today, most of the S.I.C. line are sculpted by Jun Goshima and Kenji Ando.
In 2004, a Movie Realization line had debuted, which featured Kamen Rider amongst many other popular characters in pop culture.
The S.I.C. line's overwhelming popularity brought forth many spin-off adaptations for shows including GARO. One particular line called Rangers Strike Solid was released in 2007, which was dedicated to the Super Sentai Series.
There was also a line of smaller figurines called S.I.C. Kiwami-Tamashii which debuted in 2009. This line has been discontinued since.

S.I.C. Takumi Damashii[]
S.I.C. Takumi Damashii (TD) are similar to its parent model S.I.C., they both take works created by Ishinomori Shotaro but TDs are different because they are a lot smaller and are statuettes which are sculpted in a pose already. Just like S.I.C., after the bike set TDs allowed the figures to have different poses. Moreover, S.I.C. Takumi Damashii featured as a set, which contains various character, such as Kamen Rider, Kikaider, and many other featured characters. The set also offers color variation for the character figure, aside from secret character that can be obtained in every set. Superior Imaginative Colosseum[]
In 2019, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the line, the S.I.C. line was retitled Superior Imaginative Colosseum. Under this brand, it initially began with four uniquely sculpted Rider figures, with their designs put up on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as part of a fan poll to decide which figures would be released first.[7]
