This article is about a Rider in Kamen Rider Zi-O. |
- This article is about the version of protagonist of the series, Kamen Rider Zi-O. For other versions of the character, see Sougo Tokiwa (disambiguation).
Sougo of 3 days later (3日後のソウゴ, Mikka-Go no Sougo) is a future version of Sougo Tokiwa (常磐ソウゴ, Tokiwa Sōgo) who transforms into Kamen Rider Zi-O (仮面ライダージオウ, Kamen Raidā Ji-Ō). He traveled from three days in the future to the past to help his present-day self fight Another Gaim.
History[]
Sougo is in 2013, fighting Another Gaim, after obtaining the Gaim Ridewatch, supposedly in 2018. However, after finishing the Another Rider, Sougo is transported to an unknown dimension, where Kouta Kazuraba, asks him if saving Geiz out of the Helheim Forest is a good thing to become a King.
Kouta then orders Sougo to trust Geiz' strength, transporting Sougo back to 2013, right before finishing Another Gaim, who runs away. Noticing that Kouta is the same person who gave him the Ridewatch in November 21, 2018, Sougo decides to go to November 18, 2018 to help his past self to unravel the mystery surrounding Gaim.
After Sougo from this time leaves, 3 days later's Sougo comes to 9 5 DO to bring Tsukuyomi with him, so he shows her where Geiz is, and so they can investigate on Another Gaim. As Sougo proves he can take care of both Another Gaim and its victim, Tsukuyomi and Woz, who are thinking it's the present Sougo, are confused of how he knows everything about the Another Rider and how he got the Gaim Ridewatch.
After placing the victim in a hospital, Sougo comes back to 9 5 DO, right after the present Sougo left. Future Sougo then proceeds to explain Another Gaim's backstory to a even more confused Tsukuyomi. Sougo would promptly leave, pretending to have to go shopping. In fact, future Sougo waited for his present self to engage into battle against Another Gaim, so he could secretely help him. Showing up, present Sougo is freaked out to see another himself in front of him. Both are fighting Another Gaim but future Sougo protects the Another Rider, telling that it shouldn't be defeated in 2018. [EP11: Zi-O・On・Parade 2018]
Woz guessing that the other Sougo comes from the future, Sougo gets scolded by Woz and Tsukuyomi for time traveling with no actual reason, as he could erase his own existence. Sougo then explains that, to become Ohma Zi-O, he needs both Geiz and another himself. Back at 9 5 DO, both Sougo get labels to be differentiated. Future Sougo then explains what happened to him. Giving clues to him and the others, present Sougo goes to fight Another Gaim, while future Sougo does the same by traveling back to 2013. After the fight, future Sougo comes back to his time, on November 21, 2018. [EP12: Me × My Stage 2013]
Personality[]
This Sougo's personality is the same as his main counterpart.
Powers and Abilities[]
Abilities[]
- Innovative Combatant: Throughout the course of his journey, Sougo has improved his combat skills considerably, rising from the ranks of an amateur combatant to a formidable warrior, who could contend with more seasoned warriors such as Geiz in a relatively short period of time. In regards to his fighting habits, Sougo is a resourceful and competent fighter who relies heavily upon his huge arsenal of Rider Armors and weapons. While not a fully technical fighter, Sougo approaches a fight in a composed manner and remains calm and level-headed under fire. He is a focused and cunning strategist who can adapt to most situations with innovative strategies.
- Vast Historical Knowledge: According to Tsukuyomi, Sougo excels in history, although Sougo can stumble on remembering some historical figures as Mondo Douan has shown to be more adept in this field than him.
- Keen Manipulator: Sougo has a talent for understanding how people would behave and subsequently exploiting people around him to do his bidding like how he tricked both Geiz and Tsukuyomi into watching Another Wizard's magic show with him and how he took advantage of Woz to make him cooperate with him and Geiz. Geiz considered his manipulative capabilities to be a serious threat and an indicator of his potential to become an evil demon king.
Kamen Rider Zi-O[]
Kamen Rider Zi-O transforms by inserting the Zi-O Ridewatch into the right-hand side of the Ziku-Driver and spinning the Driver 360 degrees. He accesses Rider Armor (ライダーアーマー, Raidā Āmā)[1] forms based on Kamen Riders by inserting Ridewatches into the left-hand side of the Ziku-Driver.
Zi-O can execute a finishing attack known as the Time Break (タイムブレーク, Taimu Burēku) by pressing the Ride-On Starter on their Rider Ridewatch and rotating the Ziku-Driver. Time Breaks performed in a Rider Armor are named after the respective Rider's special move with "Time Break" after it.
Kamen Rider Zi-O's ending theme is entitled "Zi-O, Toki no Oja".

- Zi-O Leap Shoes (ジオウリープシューズ, Jio Rīpu Shūzu) - Zi-O's shoes. The tip is covered with the Graphenium Bite (グラフェニウムバイト, Gurafeniumu Baito) units, increasing destructive kicking power. Additionally, The katakana for the word "Kick" (キック) is engraved on the soles.
This form has seven finishers:
- Ziku-Driver finishers:
- Time Break (タイムブレイク, Taimu Bureiku): This finisher has two variations.
- Rider Kick: A series of magenta-colored "Kick" (キック, Kikku) characters appear and circle the enemy. Zi-O then jumps high as the "Kick" characters merge into one and imprint on Zi-O's right foot as Zi-O performs a Rider Kick.

GaimArmor (鎧武アーマー, Gaimu Āmā) is Zi-O's Kamen Rider Gaim-based form accessed by using the Gaim Ridewatch in the left-hand side of the Ziku-Driver, invoking Gaim's Orange Arms. Its visor spells out "Gaim" (ガイム, Gaimu) and its shoulder pads are modeled after the Orange Lockseed.
Compared to his base form, Zi-O gains a moderate increase in punching and kicking, but a decrease in jumping height and running speed. He makes up for this with enhanced swordsmanship.
GaimArmor grants him six Daidaimaru Z (大橙丸Z, Daidaimaru Zetto, Great Orange Circle Z) themed after Gaim's Daidaimaru for melee combat and Lockseed Shoulders (ロックシードショルダー, Rokkushīdo Shorudā) that allow him to open Crack portals.
The GaimArmor bears the following parts:
- Gaim Head Gear M (鎧武ヘッドギアM, Gaimu Heddo Gia M) - GaimArmor's helmet.
- Peak Stem (ピークステム, Pīku Sutemu) - The green 'stem' piece on top of the helmet. It monitors heart rate, physical/mental damage, and other parameters, cooperating with the Ziku-Driver to maximize combat performance.
- Front Blade (フロントブレード, Furonto Burēdo) - The samurai crest in front of the helmet. It provides additional protection to the eyebrows and frontal lobe.
- Reversal Indication Eye (リバーサルインジケーションアイ, Ribāsaru Injikēshon Ai) - Gaim Head Gear M's visor that spells out 'Gaim' in katakana. Sensors with a 270° viewing angle are built into the compound eye.

- Multi Dai Armor (マルチダイアーマー, Maruchi Dai Āmā) - The orange sections of the Gaim Head Gear M. It is composed of multiple metal sheets superimposed on top of each other, raising defense. By using electromagnetic force, the metal sheets can escape pressure akin to a cushion, greatly increasing durability.
- War Frame (ウォーフレーム, Uō Furēmu) - The frame that surrounds and supports Gaim Head Gear M. It is so strong that even if it's slit by a sharp blade, no scratches will be left.
- Squash Breaster (スカッシュブレスター, Sukasshu Buresutā) - GaimArmor's chest plate that resembles Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms' face. Gives Zi-O excellent swordsmanship, and allows him to utilize up to six swords at the time.
- Lockseed Shoulders (ロックシードショルダー, Rokkushīdo Shorudā) - The shoulder armor which takes the form of Lockseeds. It contains a beacon that receives a signal from the Gaim Ridewatch when it activates. The inbuilt Seed Core (シードコア, Shīdo Koa) energy source then creates a space-time interference in order for the GaimArmor to appear above Zi-O before lowering down, allowing transformation into GaimArmor.
- Dai Dai Gouraiwan (ダイダイゴウライワン, Dai Dai Gouraiwan) - The upper-back sections attached to the GaimArmor, it resembles Gaim Orange Arm's shoulder armor with Daidaimarus attached. Supportive AI is installed on this section, predicting wearer's movements and acting in conjunction, acting as extra arms that can slash enemies.
- Dai Dai Sleeve (ダイダイスリーブ, Dai Dai Surību) - The lower sections of the Lockseed Shoulders, it is composed of multiple metal sheets superimposed on top of each other, raising the defense power. By using electromagnetic force, the metal sheets can escape pressure akin to a cushion, greatly increasing durability. Additionally, they act as holsters that can store two Daidaimaru Z (大橙丸Z, lit. 'Great Orange Circle Z') swords, Daidaimaru replicas, in them.
- Glass Slide (グラススライド, Gurasu Suraido) - The skirt armor. It is composed and acts the same way as the Dai Dai Sleeve. The 'Reversal Arms' on it absorbs and reduces side damage.
- Dai Dai Gouraitai (ダイダイゴウライタイ, Dai Dai Gouraitai) - The lower legs. Protects lower legs and increases leg strength, allowing Zi-O to withstand recoil from high altitude falling and kicking. Holds a set of Daidaimaru Z's on each.
This form's finisher is the Squash Time Break (スカッシュタイムブレーク, Sukasshu Taimu Burēku): This finisher has two variations.
- Zi-O slashes the enemy with the Daidaimaru Zs before trapping them in an badly drawn orange sphere.
- Zi-O slashes the enemy with the Daidaimaru Zs, causing him to split into mulpitle pieces and explode.
- Zi-O slashes the enemy with the Daidaimaru Zs two times, followed by an X-shaped slash with both blades, causing him to explode.

Behind the Scenes[]
Portraya[]
This version of Sougo Tokiwa, as well as his main counterpart, is portrayed by So Okuno (奥野 壮, Okuno Sō).
Etymology[]
Sougo Tokiwa's name is a combination of (時, Toki), meaning time, and (大言壮語, Taigensougo), meaning to exaggerate[4]. Evidently, the producer of Kamen Rider Zi-O has denied Sougo's name to be a play on Tokiwa-sō, the place where Shotaro Ishinomori lived and started his manga career during 1956 to 1961.
