Sota Fukushi (福士 蒼汰 Fukushi Sōta) is a Japanese actor known for playing Gentaro Kisaragi, the main rider of Kamen Rider Fourze.
By a few months, then 18 year old Fukushi beat Kento Handa as the youngest lead actor cast in the Kamen Rider Series, a record which he would hold for four years before being eclipsed by Shun Nishime when he was cast as the hero of Kamen Rider Ghost at the age of 17.
After the end of his series and two Movie Wars, Fukushi had played Kamen Rider Fourze in a voice-only role in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Space Sheriff: Super Hero Taisen Z
. Kamen Rider Fourze was voiced by replacements in later appearances, starting with the 52nd episode of Kamen Rider Wizard. Fukushi would later return in 2017 to play Gentaro in the flesh with Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL: Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders.
He reprises Kamen Rider Fourze in Kamen Rider: Battride War. [1] However in Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis, Fourze was voiced by replacements.
Fukushi's parents have been mentioned to be fans of the Kamen Rider franchise. Fukushi has said he only tried out for Fourze to try and make them happy. [2]
In 2018, Sota starred in a live-action film adaptation of the popular manga series Bleach, playing the main protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki, which also reunites him with his Fourze Rider co-stars Ryo Yoshizawa and Erina Mano, who played Uryu Ishida and Orihime Inoue respectively.
