This article is about a reimagined take on a rider in the reboot film series, Kamen Rider The First and Kamen Rider The Next. |
- For the original version, see Shiro Kazami.
Shiro Kazami (風見 志郎, Kazami Shirō) is an alternate version of the original Shiro Kazami from the original Kamen Rider V3 TV series.
History[]
Kamen Rider The Next[]
In the movie Kamen Rider The Next, Shiro is rewritten as the former president of the rising IT enterprise ExaStream, converted into a cyborg by the nanobots designed by Shocker. Being one of the two surviving members of the experiment, Shiro is enticed by the promise of power, code named Hopper Version 3. Unlike Riders 1 and 2, V3's body was modeled around using the nano-technology that grants him far greater abilities than the original Hopper design. Eventually, Shiro becomes so deeply corrupted by his new power to the point of neglecting Chiharu's well-being.
Takeshi Hongo and his student Kotomi Kikuma encounter Shiro during their investigation of Chiharu's disappearance, with Shiro revealing himself to be a member of Shocker to Takeshi. Alongside Chainsaw Lizard and a group of Shocker Riders, Shiro attacks Takeshi, proving too powerful for Takeshi to defeat alone. Just when Takeshi was nearly defeated, Hayato appears to rescue him, to Shiro's initial surprise. Annoyed, Shiro continues his hunt for the Double Riders, feeling enjoyment at showing off his powers to them.
Upon learning of Chiharu's "death" though, Shiro's vanity dissipates, becoming afraid of Shocker's ruthless actions. To Shiro's horror, Chiharu was also exposed to the nano-tech, and currently suffering from its side-effects, somehow becoming a murderous "ghost" in the process.
Given a psychic message from Chiharu, Shiro is convinced that she wishes for him to stop Shocker's latest plan. While Takeshi urges Shiro to honor Chiharu, Shiro found himself unable to resist Shocker's evil, being scared of the consequences.
In hopes to save Takeshi's life, Shiro appears before Hayato, requesting that he stop Takeshi's reckless actions. Left alone at a bar, Shiro silently contemplates his actions.
Having witnessed the Double Riders' courage, Shiro ultimately decides to honor his sister's wish, becoming Kamen Rider V3. Though successfully defeating Chainsaw Lizard's forces, with the nanobots destroyed, Shiro was ambushed by his sister Chiharu, who through a combination of the nanomachines and severe damage from an attempted suicide has mutated into a horrific monster. Ultimately, as the process she underwent is irreversible, he has no choice but to free Chiharu from her pain, using his V3 Punch to end her life. Soon after, Shiro decides to start his life fresh like Takeshi and Hayato had.
Kamen Rider Zi-O: Final Stage[]
Personality[]
Prior to Shocker's corruption, Shiro showed himself to be a cheerful figure with a charismatic personality, deeply caring for Chiharu as her older brother. Upon his conversion into Shocker's soldier, Shiro became a cold-hearted figure obsessed with power, losing most of his kindness and morality. Cutting ties with society, Shiro showed little care toward Shocker's victims, being proud of his newfound cruelty. Believing himself to be the strongest being alive, Shiro gained a sick desire to murder the Double Riders, seeing it as a means to enjoy his power.
Through his lingering love towards Chiharu though, Shiro slowly began to question himself, as well as Shocker's motives. From Kotomi and Hayato's words, Shiro realized who he had become; a shallow figure deluded with the power given to him by the nanobots. Once learning of Shocker's involvement with Chiharu's plight, Shiro's distorted sense of pleasure and vanity dissipated, growing fearful of the situation. Though learning of Chiharu's wish for Shocker to be stopped, Shiro still found himself unable to disobey the organization, too afraid of their combined strength. Instead, Shiro acted solely as a bystander, at best only requesting Hayato to stop Takeshi from fighting Shocker's troops, no longer wishing for their deaths.
By witnessing Takeshi's heroic resolve and Hayato's selfless loyalty however, Shiro ultimately mustered the resolve needed to face his fears, not wishing for anyone to suffer as Chiharu did. When seeing the pained state Chiharu was burdened with, Shiro tearfully put her out of her misery, bearing a heavy burden upon himself. Although saddened, Shiro decided to continue living his life, learning what true strength and kindness is.
