Shinnosuke Tomari[1] (泊 進ノ介, Tomari Shinnosuke) is a former elite police officer and detective who lost all his motivation after he accidentally injured his partner during the catastrophic Global Freeze. Recent events, however, have slowly started to put his life back together again after his demotion into the Special Investigation Unit.

After finding his resolve, Shinnosuke alongside Mr. Belt, his partner/manager Kiriko Shijima, and the Shift Cars, he fights against the Roidmudes as the warrior Drive (ドライブ, Doraibu). Once he hears of his predecessor's legacy as a Kamen Rider, he embraces the name Kamen Rider Drive (仮面ライダードライブ, Kamen Raidā Doraibu).

In an alternate timeline where Shocker rules the world after the defeat of the Double Riders by Kamen Rider #3, Shinnosuke was among the Riders that were brainwashed and served them. He wielded the title Shocker Rider Drive (ショッカーライダードライブ, Shokkā Raidā Doraibu) and dropped it after his defection as mentioned in the Rider Grand Prix. [Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3]

History

Pre-series

Shinnosuke's 24th birthday is stated to be on Christmas Eve 2014; placing his date of birth as 24th December 1990. His father is a police officer and explained to Shinnosuke the hardships of working as a cop. His father was later killed in the line of duty while on a case during Shinnosuke's middle school years. Global Freeze

Experiencing technical difficulties

Shinnosuke firing the fateful shot during the Global Freeze.

Six months prior to the series, during the "Global Freeze" incident, Shinnosuke and his partner Hayase were tracking criminals known as Neo-Shade. During that day, the public had received a hostage message from Neo-Shade demanding a large amount of money. With careful deduction, Shinnosuke had found out about the true criminal, the Copycat Pirate. The two are able to find his location and they confront him. The man is revealed to a talk show host, Koya Nishinori. Shinnosuke was about to arrest him before a sudden appearance of Roidmude 005. Nishinori runs, and unbeknownst to Shinnosuke, was captured and horrified by the monster. Shinnosuke finds and arrests Nishimori.

After receiving reports of Neo-Shade stationing themselves in a building while taking hostages, the two rushed to that building. During the evacuation, he ran passed through a policewoman that he would met months later. During Global Freeze, Shinnosuke and Hayase were chasing down a couple of Neo-Shade criminals and was ambushed. Hayase was cornered in between a flammable generator and one of the two criminals. Panicking, Shinnosuke pulled out his gun and tried to aim at the criminal, but due to the Slowdown effect, he accidentally shot the generator, causing it to explode and in the process, causing some pipes to collapse. As he tried to save Hayase from the falling pipes, the Slowdown effect happened once again, causing him to be unable to save his partner from being crushed. Shinnosuke thus lost his motivation as a police officer, and was transferred to a special investigations unit. [Episode 0: Countdown to Global Freeze] [Why Did My Time Stop?]

Present Day

Inheriting the Kamen Rider Name

A slack-off police officer, Shinnosuke is sent to investigate a "Heavy Acceleration" case involving Roidmude 029. Shinnosuke realizes he's fighting a monster, so the Drive Driver gives him the ability to transform into Drive. By utilizing his Tire Exchanges, he defeats Roidmude 029. With the sudden return of Roidmude 029, Shinnosuke theorizes that his powers are connected to the Roidmudes. Visiting his injured partner Hayase, Shinnosuke receives encouragement from the latter and realizes the truth of the victims left behind by Roidmude 029. As Drive, he destroyed Roidmude 029 permanently with the latter calling him a "Kamen Rider". In a heated discussion with Kiriko and Shinnosuke in the background, Mr. Belt approves of the naming scheme of Kamen Rider, thus dubbing Drive as "Kamen Rider Drive". [Why Did My Time Stop?] [What is a Kamen Rider?]

Shinnosuke as Drive would later face countless Roidmude threats along with the enforcer/bounty hunter, Mashin Chaser. As the Roidmude threats getting stronger, Drive would gain access to new forms, weapons and Shift Cars. He also led to multiple secrets that the Drive Driver knew of, starting from Rinna being the Drive Pit's assistance to Krim Steinbelt's past as well as the creation of Roidmudes. Eventually sometime later, Mashin Chaser would be revealed as Protodrive, Shinnosuke's predecessor that was brainwashed by the Roidmude Executives.

Joining Forces with Mach

Dead Heat = Dead Meat

Debut of Drive Type Dead Heat

In the second year of his employment in the Special Investigation Unit, he was introduced to Go Shijima, Kiriko's younger brother and the new Kamen Rider Mach. While potentially more powerful than Drive, Mach boasted a huge ego (it turned out that Go took the Mach Driver prematurely in a stint of rashlessness. Although the two Riders butt heads many times, they nevertheless form a respect for the other, as evident from Go nicknaming Shinnosuke "big brother."

Soonafter, Shinnosuke gained access to two new forms: Type Dead Heat (where he can share its powers with Mach along with the purpose to combat against Heart Roidmude's Dead Zone), and Type Formula (which allows him to move at the speed of G-Force where he first used to put a stop on the crazed Mashin Chaser, at the same time seemingly killed him in his second usage of the form). [Where Did That White Kamen Rider Come From?] [Why Won't My Little Brother Put On the Brakes?] [Why is Rinna Sawagami Nervous?] [What Can Be Spoken By the Irregular Dead?]

Humanity's Hero

Shinnosuke is forced to transform into Drive in front of civilians, revealing his identity as Kamen Rider Drive not only to just the rest of the Special Unit, but his former partner as well. When revealing the Drive Pit to Gen and Kyu, Captain Jun appeared himself and revealed he and Krim were colleagues and decided to make Drive's secret identity public. Eventually, this would had made into a massive turmoil in his life one by one, starting with several Roidmudes (especially Roidmude 001) infiltrate the police ranks and contemplated to destroy him (as well as other Riders) from inside. [Why Has a New Battle Started?]

The Return Of The Senior, Chase

Shinnosuke was told that Chase is still alive after his last battle. Alongside Kiriko, he went to visit him. But, they came at the wrong time as Heart also came to meet Chase. Shinnosuke transformed into Type Deadheat and outclassed Heart, but got knocked out by Chase in his Mashin Chaser form, resulting his right arm to be broken. Soon, when Sword Roidmude returned, Shinnosuke was unable to do anything and right at Kiriko was about to be stabbed by Sword, Chase appeared and saved her. Witnessing Chase's decision to return as a Kamen Rider, Shinnosuke asked him to defeat Sword Roidmude. After his win against Sword Roidmude without killing its host, he was told by Chase to arrest the criminal and left. While Kiriko confused of Chase's immediate leaving, he told her that Chase was only embarrassed.

Roidmude 001's Plans and Drive's Suspension

On the next day, after Shinnosuke was introduced to the Ride Boosters, he was called by the HQ. Shocking him and Kiriko, Brain, under the guise of a consultant from the Paranormal Science Institute named Mr. Noumi, was introduced to work alongside with them. Without noticing what Brain was doing or Roidmude 001's plan, Shinnosuke attacked Brain on the rooftop to get answers. He realizes too late that Brain's plan was trick him into attacking him so he could be framed for attacking a "human" and be unable to fight as Drive again. He later got suspended by Nira, including being suspended to transform into Drive as well.

Worsening Shinnosuke's problem, Go was revealed to be the target for the new Roidmude, Seeker Roidmude. With the help from Chase to make an attack drama towards Nira, he had his suspension erased and able to fight again.

The Haunt of the Mysterious Past

Shinnosuke learned a case which involving the death of his father, Eisuke Tomari after dealing with Open Roidmude for the first time. Begging for Nira to join the case, he was at first allowed to join in exchange for doing order from him. Soon, Shinnosuke out of rage attacked Open Roidmude, only to have Go attacked him instead for unknown reason. With Chase coincident intrude, Shinnosuke was scolded by him during battle when Chase protected Shingo Maruya from Open Roidmude's harm, making Shinnosuke realized the error of his deed.

Soon, Shinnosuke flee alongside Chase and took Shingo under Tokujo's protection. Chase told Shinnosuke that Shingo's memory had been manipulated by Roidmude 001 after Shingo revealed that he suddenly remembered a Heaviness on the day of his last robbery because of Open Roidmude. Later, he faced Open Roidmude once again and won the fight with the aid of Chase. At last, Shinnosuke learned the truth of his father's death because of Chase's returning memory and Yukari (the girl he saved from Open Roidmude's attack), revealing Roidmude 001 is the true culprit.

Drive alongside AkaNinger

Shinnosuke was alerted by the sudden appearance of a Heavy Acceleration. As he goes to said location in Tridoron as Drive, he witnessed the NinningersIcon-crosswiki and mistook them for the cause of the Heavy Acceleration, having arrived late while the true creator, Youkai BuruburuIcon-crosswiki had already fled. After fighting the Ninningers, AkaNingerIcon-crosswiki tried to reason with Drive, only to be handcuffed as the others vanished. While AkaNinger was interrogated, he temporarily vanished before returning as his civilian form, Takaharu and tried his best to convince Shinnosuke the truth by bringing him into the battle of his teammates against the Youkai. When AkaNinger slashes him, Shinnosuke and Mr. Belt witness a Spider Viral Core, wondering what just happened until KyuemonIcon-crosswiki, a silver-haired man and two other Roidmudes appear as they fights Drive alongside his comrades. After the Ninningers destroy Buruburu, Roidmudes 057 and 016 grew into giant proportions, capturing Drive as their hostage until the Ninningers summon Shurikenjin to rescue him before eliminating them a with Shurikenjin UFO.

Suddenly, they realised that they are from another world and if something older exists in this world, it will quickly vanish. With Kyuemon taking her leave, the Ninningers are captured by police forces and labelled as public enemies. Shinnosuke remembered Roidmude 089 but none of the police forces including Mr. Belt prioritize the case, having entirely shifted to the dimensionally displaced Ninningers. After spying the Ninningers in their Ninjutsu dojo, Shinnosuke confront Takaharu and decided to help him, first by evading police forces. The leftover Hitokarage in Drive's world attacked until Kiriko rescues them in a minivan. Kiriko shows them the silver-haired man (Roidmude 089)'s photo, which Saijo found on the internet. The man himself is a late scientist named Doctor D that died 40 years ago.

Searching for clues in Doctor D's old lab, they were joined by Mach, whom saved them from Hiruchameleon. Go as well had made some research into the history and using the photos he found, Shinnosuke finally solved the case until the lab itself destroyed by Turtle Bazooka with Tridoron saved them. Regrouping with the other Ninningers, Shinnosuke and Mach revealed Shocker as the true mastermind. Once the Ninningers and Kamen Riders have transformed, they fight the Shocker armies and finally eliminated them, restoring UFOmaruIcon-crosswiki, YoshitakaIcon-crosswiki and TsumujiIcon-crosswiki back into existence again. After several encouragements, they part ways as the Ninningers vanish via a green aura.

Super Hero Taisen GPIcon-crosswiki

Due to a timeline alteration by Shocker in 1973, Shinnosuke, Special Unit Police Force, and most of the Riders who were heroes become brainwashed villains into doing Shocker's dirty work of capturing the Rider resistance, which only leaves Blade in being captured and Kotaro Minami still being Kamen Rider BLACK and resisting Shocker's reign. Yuto and Go are still the same prior to the timeline alteration, and the alteration results in the existence of Kamen Rider 3. Kotaro (as Black) fought against Drive when he protects children who resist Shocker. However, he is damaged by Drive when taking a stray attack from him that would have hurt the kids. Kotaro then finally manages to make Shinnosuke remember who he is and regain his original timeline memories. Kotaro then rescues Kiriko from falling at a great height after some Shocker members attempted to kill her when they learn that Shinnosuke didn't follow orders. Back in the Drive Pit, they discuss about the existence of why Kamen Rider 3, known as the "Rider who should never have existed" existed after Shocker altered the timeline. During their conversation, they're surrounded by Shocker's agents to capture the Drive and BLACK, but they managed to escape from Shocker as they split up during their escape. After that, he joined up with Yuto Sakurai and Go Shijima to find Kamen Rider 3.

He first fights Kamen Rider 3, but then helped, as he realized that Kamen Rider 3 is now on the run from both Shocker and Rider resistances led by V3, so he decides to help Rider 3 clear his name as "Rider", with the help of Yuto and Go. He, Rider 3, and the other primary Riders later participate in the Rider Grand Prix, and after, accompanied by most of the good Riders, including Kotaro who returns as RX, fought Shocker, with the help of a Super Sentai Team, Shuriken Sentai NinningerIcon-crosswiki, as they combines the OtomoNin into ShurikenjinIcon-crosswiki to defeat Rider Robo that was created by Shocker. Just as Drive witnesses the battle, Yoshitaka IgasakiIcon-crosswiki, The Last Ninja and grandfather of Ninningers gives him an OtomoNin Shuriken: Tridoron, which transforms Tridoron into OtomoNin Tridoron. Shinnosuke joins the Ninningers as they recombine their OtomoNin into Shurikenji Tridoron. Together they fought against the Rider Robo once again and execute their finishing move to destroy it along the History Modifying Machine inside it. With the destruction of Rider Robo and The History Modifying Machine by the hands of Shurikenjin Tridoron, the history recreated by Shocker has been undone and Kamen Rider 3 won't be able to exist any more. Kyoichiro says goodbye to Shinnosuke and his comrades. After the original timeline is finally restored, both Shinnosuke and Kiriko are saddened over Go's death as they mourn him and they will never forget the sacrifice Go made for the Riders.

D-Video Special: Kamen Rider 4

The timeline is altered once again after the events of Super Hero Taisen GP, where time itself is stuck in a strange loop on April 4, 2015. Shinnosuke, after recalling previous events, attempts to fix the disruption in time along with Zerenos and Faiz though their attempts inevitably fail with Go's death followed by time resetting itself back to April 4th, 9:55AM over and over again, as Drive and the Riders fight increasing odds from Shocker. Desperate to save Go, Shinnosuke sacrifices himself in one of the time loops to ensure the safety of his friend's life at the cost of his own. Upon the fourth loop, Shinnosuke realizes the situation he was in.

Personality

Shinnosuke was once an elite officer within the force with his partner Hayase, known for his great detective skills. He inherited his sense of justice from his father, who said police officers have the heaviest burden of all: protecting the people. Ironically, during this time, he had a problem of being too passionate with his work, often getting dangerously close to pummeling criminals to a pulp unnecessarily.

However, after accidentally injuring his partner, he turned into the very opposite of his former self due to immense guilt. He became constantly lacking of motivation and lazy, contributing to his demotion to the special investigations unit. He is seen constantly running off to laze around, and more often seen eating milk balls than actually working, with milk ball eating being a sign that Shinnosuke's brain is "stuck". Even after becoming Kamen Rider Drive, he has yet to fully return permanently to what he refers to as "top gear", remaining aloof and takes situations and other matters lightly often, although this is seen to be improving and he takes his role as a Kamen Rider more seriously.

Under his aloof attitude and lazy facade is a man who holds a strong bearing of justice. Shinnosuke refuses to see people around him be hurt and would be more aggressive in his dealings when such time comes, eventually shifting into "high gear" mode when clues to cases connect and/or when he is about to confront a criminal or a Roidmude. His appearance while under this attitude is often shown with him straightening his tie. However, this attitude adjustment is temporary and he will revert to his normal lazy self when cases are solved. If he feels particularly demotivated, his tie will mysteriously loosen itself for him.

Shinnosuke can also be a bit self-centered, hating his own date of birth, December the 24th, due to having received only one gift that represents both his birthday and Christmas presents [What is in the Belt's Past?], and dislikes riding shotgun on any automobile-themed vehicle, due to his affinity for driving. [How Was That Decisive Moment Captured?]

He would often say "I'm done thinking about it!" whenever he has come to a conclusion. Whether these conclusions are helpful (throwing away his hesitation to help people) or not (forgetting his problems to continue lazing around) is a matter of luck.

Revolving around his father's death 12 years before the Global Freeze, Shinnosuke acts very recklessly and in a hot-headed manner as he pursues any possible clues that might lead him to whomever killed his father, to the point of nearly killing Heart.

As Drive, Shinnosuke has the archetype of a proud, snarky superhero, creating puns or bantering his opponent when he has the opportunity, apparently toying with his opponents. While he initially sees Chase as no more than an annoyance, he grew to respect the Roidmude due to Chase's unique sense of honor and comradeship. When he learns that Chase was Protodrive, he is more than willing to give the Roidmude the benefit of the doubt, and often seen trying his best to redeem Chase. As such, the decision eventually to having to finish Chase off due to the Roidmude being on the brink of having actually harming innocent humans, causes him great regret.

Similar to Faiz, he would often grab his right wrist with his left hand, then close his right hand and flick it open as a hand gesture.

When particularly spirited to fight a Roidmude, he will lean on one leg and say "Let's go for a ride!" (ひとっ走り付き合えよ!, Hitoppashiri tsukiaeyo!)

Types

Kamen Rider Drive's forms are called Types (タイプ, Taipu). Some Shift Cars alter the suit based on a certain attribute, whereas other Shift Cars arm Drive with a certain element or weapon, by changing the tire on Drive's suit for a Tire Exchange (タイヤ交換, Taiya Kōkan). These two types of Shift Cars can be used in conjunction with each other, but some Tires can only work with certain body Types.

After turning the Advanced Ignition on the Drive Driver, Drive can perform one of two actions in each Type: Lifting the Shift Car placed within the Shift Brace between one and three times initiates either a special ability or an attack, while pressing the Igniter on the Shift Brace and lifting the Shift Car once unleashes the Type's Full Throttle (フルスロットル, Furu Surottoru) finishing move.

Kamen Rider Drive's ending theme is entitled "Don't lose your mind".

All versions of this Type bear a tire across Drive's torso. While changing Shift Cars, upbeat jazz music plays.

File:Tireless.png

Type Speed Tire-less

This version of Type Speed is briefly seen during both Drive's transformation and Tire Exchange, the latter specifically after the previous tire is ejected and before the new tire gets attached in its place. When Imitation Drive robbed the Max Flare Tire in Type HIGH SPEED! The True Power! Type High Speed is Born!, the real Drive was left stuck in this state until Mach mistakingly struck him with his Kick Macher attack.

In the case of an incompatible user, such as Kiriko, attempting to access the Drive System, a transformation into the tire-less Kamen Rider Drive is briefly achieved. However, once the Type Speed Tire (タイプスピードタイヤ, Taipu Supīdo Taiya) attempts to combine with the Type Speed body, the transformation is immediately rejected. This prompted Kiriko and Mr. Belt to find a candidate who could successfully handle Drive's power and maintain the transformation. [How Were the Special Investigation Unit Selected?]

Type Speed

Type Speed

"Drive: Type Speed! (Upbeat jazz music)"
―Transformation announcement[src]
  • Height: 199 cm.
  • Weight: 102 kg.

Ability Perimeters:

  • Punching power: 6.0 t.
  • Kicking power: 10.4 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 32 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 5.7 sec. (1.8 sec. at full speed)

Type Speed (タイプスピード, Taipu Supīdo) is Drive's default sports car-based form. Accessed through the Shift Speed Car, this form bears the Type Speed Tire (タイプスピードタイヤ, Taipu Supīdo Taiya). This form debuts in episode 1.

Out of Drive's Types, this form has the most balance in terms of strength and agility, which also makes it his most frequently used form.

Drive's special ability in this form is, as the name implies, speed. When he lifts the Shift Speed Car three times, Drive is able to move incredibly fast and perform high velocity attacks. He can also perform the Turbo Smash (ターボスマッシュ, Tābo Sumasshu) attack, where Drive makes the Type Speed Tire rotate rapidly as he skids towards the enemy and trips them up into the air. Afterwards, he unleashes a barrage of rapid punches onto the falling target, making an image of a speedometer appear from the resulting series of punches. Alternatively, Drive can skip the tripping portion of his attack and go immediately to its punching portion.

This Type's Full Throttle finisher is the SpeeDrop (スピードロップ, Supīdoroppu), where Drive focuses power into his right leg, making it glow red as he slams into the enemy with a flying kick.

  • A variation of this finisher has four spinning tires manifest to surround the enemy while Drive turns his back to the target as Tridoron races around him, focusing his power. The tires then fully close in on the target, making the target shoot forwards towards Drive, who instead jumps at Tridoron and kicks at it, making him bounce off of it and kick the target. Drive then keeps bouncing off Tridoron and kicking the target in a pinball-like manner until he comes in with the final kick, skidding to a stop.

Stat-wise, Type Speed Flare's punching and kicking power is slightly more powerful than Type Speed. However, its jumping height decreases slightly and the maximum running speed is much slower in comparison.

In this mode, Drive is empowered with fire-enhanced abilities, covering his hands and legs in flames with every attack, as well as allowing him to manifest a fiery construct of the Max Flare Tire for him to kick at the enemy where it produces a flaming cyclone that shoots the target skyward. Type Speed Flare's Full Throttle finisher is the Flare Stream (フレアストリーム, Furea Sutorīmu), where Drive launches a barrage of fireballs from the Max Flare Tire towards the enemy.

  • During the fight against Kamen Rider Lupin, Drive finishes the Rider off by using an alternative of the SpeeDrop (スピードロップ, Supīdoroppu) Tridoron variation. Four spinning tires manifest to surround the enemy and bombarded Lupin with his while Drive turns his back to the target as Tridoron races around him, focusing his power. The tires then fully close in on the target, making the target shoot forwards towards Drive, who instead jumps at Tridoron and kicks at it, making him bounce off of it and kick the target. Drive then keeps bouncing off Tridoron and kicking the target in a pinball-like manner with flaming strikes, though this is notably slower compared with Type Speed's version until he comes in with the final kick, skidding to a stop.

Stat-wise, Type Speed Shadow's punching and kicking power retain the same force as Type Speed. However, its jumping height increases very slightly compared to Type Speed and, while still very much slower than Type Speed, it can still run faster than both Type Speed Flare and Type Speed Spike.

In this mode, Drive is empowered with enhanced stealth capabilities which allow him to duplicate himself and can manifest energy constructs of the Midnight Shadow Tire to throw at the enemy. Type Speed Shadow's Full Throttle finisher is the Shadow Shuriken (シャドーシュリケン, Shadō Shuriken).

Stat-wise, Type Speed Hunter can throw more powerful kicks and punches than the first three Tire Exchange modes and Type Speed. However, it has a slightly decreased jumping height compared to Type Speed, and is among the slowest of the Tire Exchange modes.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Justice Cage. Type Speed Hunter's Full Throttle finisher is the JustiSmash (ジャスティスマッシュ, Jasutisumasshu), where after trapping the enemy in his weapon's Energy Prison, Drive uses projections of Tridoron's tires to launch himself at the cage, then upwards and back, making a loop before sliding at the cage with a punch, the cage lifting seconds before Drive can smash into it, destroying the enemy.

Stat-wise, Type Speed Mixer has slightly weaker punching power than Type Speed Vegas, but it also has slightly stronger kicking power than the aforementioned Type. However, it has the worst jumping height and running speed among the Tire Exchange modes.

In this mode, Drive can fire a salvo of quick-drying cement from the Spin Mixer Tire at the enemy to bind them in place. Type Speed Mixer's Full Throttle finisher is the CannonCrete (キャノンクリート, Kyanonkurīto).

Stat-wise, Type Speed Monster has a very strong attack power, throwing more powerful kicks and punches than even Type Speed Hunter. However, it has about the same jumping height as the aforementioned Type, making it among the slowest of the Tire Exchange modes.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Monster and can make the Massive Monster Tire emit its tongue to lash at the enemy. Type Speed Monster's Full Throttle finisher is the MonsCrunch (モンスクランチ, Monsukuranchi), where Drive has the Massive Monster Tire's tongue shoot out and bind the enemy in place before dragging them in to be crushed in-between energy constructs of the Monster.

Stat-wise, Type Speed Cab has the same offensive power as Type Speed, while also possessing the same agility stats as Type Speed Flare.

In this mode, Drive can generate a teleporting portal from the Dimension Cab Tire that separates a portion of his body from the rest of himself to use for multiple tasks. Type Speed Cab's Full Throttle finisher is the Dimension Branch (ディメンションブランチ, Dimenshon Buranchi).

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Rumble Smasher. However, in Type Speed Dump's first (and possibly only) usage, Drive was unable to control the Rumble Smasher, which resulted in him being dragged along for the ride as the out-of-control weapon lifted him off of his feet and all over the place.

  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 6.3 sec.

The ambulance-based Shift Mad Doctor Car allows Drive to upgrade Type Speed into Type Speed Doctor (タイプスピードドクター, Taipu Supīdo Dokutā), which bears the first aid-themed Mad Doctor Tire (マッドドクタータイヤ, Maddo Dokutā Taiya). This mode debuts in episode 6.

Stat-wise, Type Speed Doctor has the weakest offensive stats, weaker than even Type Speed, has one of the worst jumping heights, and is among the slowest of the usable Tire Exchange modes for Type Speed, making it overall one of Type Speed's worse Tire Exchange modes to be in an active fight.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Cure Quicker. Type Speed Doctor's Full Throttle "finisher" makes Drive hover in the air as medical equipment appears around him, which is then used to remove whatever ailment is affecting him, such as poison. The downside is that, true to its name, Mad Doctor's healing is excruciatingly painful.

Appearances: Episode 6

All versions of this Type bear a tire on Drive's right shoulder. While changing Shift Cars, urban hip-hop music plays.

This version of Type Wild is briefly seen during both Drive's transformation and Tire Exchange, the latter specifically after the previous tire is ejected and before the new tire gets attached in its place.

Type Wild

Type Wild

"Drive: Type Wild! (Urban hip-hop music)"
―Transformation announcement[src]
  • Height: 197 cm.
  • Weight: 123 kg.

Ability Perimeters:

  • Punching power: 8.1 t.
  • Kicking power: 14.1 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 21 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 7.2 sec.

Type Wild (タイプワイルド, Taipu Wairudo) is Drive's dune buggy-based form. Accessed through the Shift Wild Car, this form bears the Type Wild Tire (タイプワイルドタイヤ, Taipu Wairudo Taiya). This form debuts in episode 6.

In terms of Drive's Types, this form has much more physical power than Type Speed, boosting his strength significantly and allowing him to use power-type Shift Cars like Rumble Dump with relative ease. As an added bonus, since all of Type Wild's tires are attached to Drive's right shoulder instead of around his torso, Drive can use his new strength to perform powerful shoulder checks and guard against attacks much more easily using his right shoulder. In exchange, Type Wild cannot jump nearly as high as either Type Speed or any of its Tire Exchange modes, nor is this form able to run as fast.

Drive's special ability in this form is enhanced strength and defensive capabilities. He is also capable of performing two different attacks.

  • Over Wild (オーバーワイルド, Ōbā Wairudo): After Drive lifts the Shift Car once, he uses the Type Wild Tire to shoulder check the enemy with enough force to send them flying.
  • Pile Break (パイルブレイク, Pairu Bureiku)

This Type's Full Throttle finisher is the WilDrop (ワイルドロップ, Wairudoroppu).

Stat-wise, Type Wild Dump is basically an exaggeration of Type Wild's stats: excellent offensively and does poorly agility-wise, making this form the second slowest out of all of Drive's known forms.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Rumble Smasher. Unlike Type Speed Dump where the Rumble Smasher goes berserk, Type Wild Dump keeps the Rumble Smasher in check thanks to Type Wild's much higher strength. Type Wild Dump's Full Throttle finisher is the DriRumble (ドリランブル, Doriranburu), where Drive slams the Rumble Smasher into the target while it is spinning at high speeds with incredible force.

Appearances: Episodes 6, 8, 19

Stat-wise, Type Wild Wrecker has weaker offensive stats, but does better agility-wise compared to Type Wild Dump.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Capture Hook. Type Wild Wrecker's Full Throttle finisher is the Wrecker Wind (レッカーワインド, Rekkā Waindo).

Appearances: Episodes 7, 11, 14-15, 17

The ambulance-based Shift Mad Doctor Car allows Drive to upgrade Type Wild into Type Wild Doctor (タイプワイルドドクター, Taipu Wairudo Dokutā), which bears the first aid-themed Mad Doctor Tire (マッドドクタータイヤ, Maddo Dokutā Taiya). This mode debuts in episode 9.

Stat-wise, Type Wild Doctor has some of the best agility stats seen in any of the Type Wild forms, except for Type Wild itself. However, it has the weakest offensive stats out of Type Wild's Tire Exchange modes, though the kicking power is only marginally better than Type Wild itself.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Cure Quicker.

  • Kicking power: 11.2 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 26.1 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 7.4 sec.

Type Technic (タイプテクニック, Taipu Tekunikku) is Drive's garbage truck-based form. Accessed through the Shift Technic Car, this form bears the Type Technic Tire (タイプテクニックタイヤ, Taipu Tekunikku Taiya). This form debuts in episode 9.

In terms of Drive's Types, this form sits in-between Type Speed and Type Wild based on offensive power. As for agility stats, Type Technic is marginally slower than Type Wild, yet can jump higher than the aforementioned Type.

Drive's special ability in this form is being able to analyze and manipulate machinery, as well as near pin-perfect precision that allows him to swiftly react to any changes in the battlefield via analysis. He also gains eyes in the back of his head, allowing Drive to perform two tasks at once and narrow down potential blind-spots.

This Type's Full Throttle finisher is the Technidrop (テクニドロップ, Tekunidoroppu).

Stat-wise, Type Technic Braver has greater offensive power than Type Technic alone, to the point of producing more power than Type Wild. However, it has reduced agility stats.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Ladder Expander. Type Technic Braver's Full Throttle finisher is the Rescue Down (レスキューダウン, Resukyū Daun), where Drive makes the Ladder Expander grab the enemy and drag them in his direction close enough for him to unleash a powerful side kick into the captured target's chest.

Appearances: Episode 9, D-Video Special: Kamen Rider 4

Stat-wise, Type Technic Gravity is the slowest form Drive can ever use at this point. However, it still can jump higher than Type Wild Dump. Also, despite having a somewhat lesser jumping height compared to Type Technic Braver, it is stronger in offensive power than the aforementioned Tire Exchange mode.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the 10-ton Weight. Type Technic Gravity's Full Throttle finisher is the Impact Ten (インパクト10 (テン), Inpakuto Ten).

Appearances: Episode 9

Type Technic Winter

―Activation announcement[src]
  • Height: 203 cm.
  • Weight: 146.9 kg.

Ability Perimeters:

  • Punching power: 9.1 t.
  • Kicking power: 15.3 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 15.6 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 11 sec.

The ice resurfacer-based Shift Road Winter Car allows Drive to upgrade Type Technic into Type Technic Winter (タイプテクニックウィンター, Taipu Tekunikku Uintā), which bears the freeze-themed Road Winter Tire (ロードウィンタータイヤ, Rōdo Uintā Taiya). This mode debuts in episode 14.

Stat-wise, Type Technic Winter has less punching power than Type Technic Braver or Gravity, but more kicking power than Type Technic Braver. Winter's jumping height is fractionally better than Type Technic Gravity and can easily be overlooked, and is also barely faster than the aforementioned Tire Exchange mode.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Frostreamer.

Appearances: Episode 14

With the invention of the Mach Driver Honoh, the Drive Driver has undergone improvements to better combat the growing Roidmude threat. Drive's first upgrade is the Next System (ネクストシステム, Nekusuto Shisutemu), which allows both him and Mach to use a special hybrid Shift Car/Signal Bike. His second upgrade is the Advanced System (アドバンスドシステム, Adobansudo Shisutemu), which utilizes supplementary Shift Cars that allow Drive to maintain performance levels while transformed over prolonged periods of time.

All versions of this Type bear a tire across Drive's torso and the DH Kourin (DH-コウリン, Dī Aichi Kōrin, short for/lit. "Dead Heat Rear Wheel") on his right shoulder. While either changing Shift Cars or entering the Dead Zone state, suspenseful chase music with squealing tires as accompaniment plays. Unlike Mach, even though Type Dead Heat bears a Kourin Signal, the DH Kourin does not change into a different one whenever Drive initiates a Tire Exchange.

File:Dead Heat Tireless.jpg

Type Dead Heat Tire-less

This version of Type Dead Heat is briefly seen during Tire Exchange, specifically after the previous tire is ejected and before the new tire gets attached in its place. It was also glimpsed briefly during his first transformation into Type Dead Heat using the incomplete Shift Dead Heat Shift Car.

Type Dead Heat
KRDr-Drivedeadheat

Type Dead Heat

"Drive: Type Dead Heat! (Guitar solo)"
―Transformation announcement[src]
  • Height: 200 cm.
  • Weight: 107.1 kg.

Ability Perimeters:

  • Punching power: 15.3 t.
  • Kicking power: 23.7 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 36.5 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 3.2 sec.

Type Dead Heat (タイプデッドヒート, Taipu Deddo Hīto) is Drive's motorcycle and sidecar-based form, which has the physical characteristics of both his and Mach's Rider Systems. Accessed through the Shift Dead Heat Car, this form bears the Type Dead Heat Tire (タイプデッドヒートタイヤ, Taipu Deddo Hīto Taiya). This form debuts in episode 16.

In terms of Drive's Types, this form scores much higher in every Ability Perimeters compared to many of his other Types: surpassing Type Wild Dump in offensive strength, Type Speed's average speed, and the highest jump measured overall. It also allows Drive to function in a Super Heavy Acceleration field, but with the drawback of his Ability Perimeters being significantly reduced.

Drive's special ability in this form is being able to emulate Heart's Dead Zone (デッドゾーン, Deddo Zōn) state by turning the Advanced Ignition, which raises his combat capabilities to an incredible degree. Compared to Heart, Type Dead Heat's Dead Zone ability is superior. However, using this ability can overload Drive's Rider System if the DH Kourin's meter redlines. Once the system maxes out and the Type Dead Heat Tire's treads burst, the operator will lose control over their actions.

Because of the way Shift Dead Heat is designed, this form lacks a proper Full Throttle finisher. Instead, Drive uses the Dead Zone ability to defeat his enemies either with raw power or by generating a red energy tire to kick at the target. Afterwards, he can press the Igniter to initiate one of two attacks.

Appearances: Episodes 16-18, 20-22, 26

  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 3.3 sec.

Stat-wise, Type Dead Heat Flare has minimal gains and disadvantages from Type Dead Heat: barely doing more damage, yet having a marginally lowered jumping height and running speed.

In this mode, Drive is empowered with fire-enhanced abilities. Type Dead Heat Flare's Full Throttle finisher is an enhanced version of the Dead Heat Drop (デッドヒートドロップ, Deddo Hīto Doroppu), where Drive is coated in flames during his Dead Zone-powered attack.

  • Kicking power: 28.6 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 47.1 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 0.200 sec. (0.120 sec. at full speed)

Type Formula (タイプフォーミュラ, Taipu Fōmyura) is Drive's Formula One car-based form. Accessed through the Shift Formula Car, this form bears two Type Formula Tires (タイプフォーミュラタイヤ, Taipu Fōmyura Taiya). This form debuts in episode 21.

Core Driviar-N

Core Driviar-N

In terms of Drive's Types, this form has much more power than Type Dead Heat, allowing him to throw stronger punches and kicks, as well as function in a Super Heavy Acceleration field better, than the aforementioned Type. Also, despite the bulky upper armor, it has a huge jumping height and monstrous running speed beyond even the speed of sound ranging from 500m/s to 833m/s. All over Drive's body are stickers with the names of all eighteen Tire Exchange Shift Cars that aren't Type Formula-esque, similar to a real Formula One car bearing various stickers of their sponsors. If his Power Gail Wing (パワーゲイルウィング, Pawā Geiru Uingu) breastplate is removed, it will reveal Type Formula's car engine-like power source, the Core Driviar-N (コア・ドライビア-N, Koa Doraibia-En), underneath.

Drive's special ability in this form is speed akin to that of Type Speed's, as well as wind manipulation. He is also armed with the Trailer-Hou. When Drive lifts the Shift Formula Car three times, he can move at a velocity far more faster than Type Speed, allowing him to batter an enemy with multiple attacks. However, any Full Throttle finisher used by this form (except for ones that utilize the Trailer-Hou) can place a huge strain on Drive's body due to the amount of G-Forces it brings.

X Fan Boost

X-Fan Boost

The back of Drive's body is equipped with a Core Driviar-powered booster called the X-Fan Boost (エクスファンブースト, Ekusu Fan Būsuto), which allows him to move at a speed on the same level as a G-Force. While running, he can increase his running speed by lifting the Shift Formula Car three times. The downside of this Type Change, however, is that using Type Formula for a long time can cause mechanical shock to both his body and the Rider System. To fix this, the three Shift Formula-esque Tire Exchange Shift Cars, nicknamed the Pit Crew (ピットクルー, Pitto Kurū), aid him by using their abilities to repair all of the damages inflicted upon Type Formula's body and bring Drive back into tip-top shape.

This Type's Full Throttle finisher is the Formula Drop (フォーミュラドロップ, Fōmyura Doroppu), where Drive is covered in bright blue energy as he strikes the enemy with a flying kick.

  • During Type Formula's first use, its Full Throttle finisher was an unnamed Rider Punch which covered Drive in bright blue energy as he dashed straight into the enemy and struck them with a double handed punch.

―Activation announcement[src]
  • Height: 202 cm.
  • Weight: 113.4 kg.

Ability Perimeters:

  • Punching power: 15.9 t.
  • Kicking power: 28.9 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 46.6 m.
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 0.240 sec.

The gas refueling tank-based Shift Mantarn F01 Car allows Drive to upgrade Type Formula into Type Formula Mantarn (タイプフォーミュラマンターン, Taipu Fōmyura Mantān, lit. "Type Formula Full Tank"), which bears two Mantarn F01 Tires (マンターンF01タイヤ, Mantān Efu Zero Wan Taiya, lit. "Full Tank F01 Tires"). This mode debuts in episode 23.

Stat-wise, Type Formula Mantarn both loses a fraction of punching power and gains a fraction of kicking power from Type Formula, but this can easily be overlooked. It also takes a hit to the jumping height and running speed.

In this mode, Drive can boost his power by using the Mantarn F01 Tires like nitro boosters via the Resurrection Fuel (リザレクションフューエル, Rizarekushon Fyūeru) stored within. It also helps with his fatigue somewhat due to being based off of Mad Doctor's technology. When the Shift Mantarn Car is lifted three times, both Drive's usual running speed from Type Formula and the performance of the X-Fan Boost are upgraded to a much higher level. Another application of the Resurrection Fuel's boosting powers is the ability to boost Type Formula Mantarn's punches, which can desynchronize the fusion of a Roidmude that evolved using a Neo Viral Core.

Stat-wise, Type Formula Jacky has both higher punching power and kicking power than Type Formula alone. However, as a trade-off, it jumps less and runs even slower than Type Formula Mantarn.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Jacky Riser.

Stat-wise, Type Formula Sparner has more punching power than Type Formula Jacky, but fractionally less kicking power. It can also jump higher, as well as run faster, than Type Formula Jacky.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Grasper Claw.

Appearances: Episodes 23-25

This version of Type Fruits is briefly seen during both Drive's transformation and Tire Exchange, the latter specifically after the previous tire is ejected and before the new tire gets attached in its place.

  • Kicking power: 17.4 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 30 m.

Type Fruits (タイプフルーツ, Taipu Furūtsu) is Drive's orange-based armored Japanese Samurai form, resembling Kamen Rider Gaim's Orange Arms. Accessed through the Shift Fruits Car, this form bears the Type Fruits Tire (タイプフルーツタイヤ, Taipu Furūtsu Taiya).

In terms of Drive's Types, this form punches with the same amount of force as Type Dead Heat and kicks harder than nearly all of Drive's standard forms, except for Type Wild Dump and Type Wild Wrecker. Beyond that, while Type Fruits has a slightly lower jumping height compared to Type Speed, it can run faster than the aforementioned Type's standard running speed.

Drive's special ability in this form is akin to that of Kamen Rider Gaim's. He is also armed with the Musou Saber and Daidaimaru.

The biggest disadvantage Drive has in this form is the giant hat atop his head, which has minor effects on the vantage of his surroundings and the fact that with it on, he can't fit inside of Tridoron.

This form is exclusive to Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Drive & Gaim: Movie War Full Throttle.

All versions of this Type bear a tire across Drive's torso. While changing Shift Cars, upbeat jazz music plays. Unlike the original version, both its standby music and the announcement for the Type by Mr. Belt have been slown down. Mr. Belt also says "Start your Engine" much softer and more gently before Shinnosuke turns the Advanced Ignition.

Type High Speed (タイプハイスピード, Taipu Hai Supīdo) is Drive's luxurious sports car-based form, which is essentially a silver version of his Type Speed form with altered shoulder pads and the emblem on the helmet receiving wings. Accessed through the Shift High Speed Car, this form bears the Type High Speed Tire (タイプハイスピードタイヤ, Taipu Hai Supīdo Taiya).

This Type's Full Throttle finisher is an unnamed Rider Kick, which appears to be a replica of Type Speed's SpeeDrop where Drive charges himself in a glittering light-like energy before destroying the target with a flying kick.

Along with the Mega Max Flare Tire, it was later revealed that Type High Speed was just a redecoration of Drive's original Type Speed form and nothing more. As such, it shares its stats with the original Type Speed.

This form is exclusive to Type HIGH SPEED! The True Power! Type High Speed is Born!.

In this mode, Drive is armed with the Drum Shields.

Due to Type High Speed merely being a redecoration of the original Type Speed, Type High Speed Vegas shares its stats with the original Type Speed Vegas.

In this mode, Drive can supposedly utilize more powerful flame attacks than Type Speed Flare.

Along with Type High Speed, it was later revealed that the Mega Max Flare Tire was just a redecoration of the original Max Flare Tire and nothing more. As such, it shares its stats with the original Type Speed Flare.

Behind the scenes

Portrayal

Shinnosuke Tomari is portrayed by Ryoma Takeuchi (竹内 涼真, Takeuchi Ryōma).

As Kamen Rider Drive, his suit actor is Seiji Takaiwa (高岩 成二, Takaiwa Seiji) who has been the suit actor for the majority of leading Heisei Kamen Riders (except Kuuga and Hibiki).

Rider No.

As the leading Rider protagonist of Kamen Rider Drive, Drive is labeled Kamen Rider #31 (仮面ライダー31号, Kamen Raidā Sanjūichigō) and Heisei Rider #16 (平成ライダー16号, Heisei Raidā Jūrokugō). [Quiz! Decade Countdown!!]

As noted by producer Shinichiro Shirakura in the run-up to the release of Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai, with the 15 Showa Riders and then 15 Heisei Riders facing off being "the point in which Heisei has finally aligned with Showa and in which both are equal", Drive, as the Rider following Gaim, marks the point where "Heisei Rider history will actually surpass Showa, making it a massive turning point for the whole franchise's history".

Notes

  • Like his predecessor, Shinnosuke did not debut in the Summer Movie before his series like the previous four Kamen Riders before Gaim, who instead made his first appearance in the Kamen Rider Wizard two-part epilogue special. However, Shinnosuke is the first primary Rider since Tsukasa Kadoya to debut in his own series.
  • Shinnosuke's birthday is revealed to be December 24 in Episode 10. He is 24 years old.
    • In real life, Shinnosuke's actor, Ryoma Takeuchi, was born on April 26, 1993.
    • According to Brain's research in episode 16, his height is 185 cm and his weight is 75 kg, based on his actor. However, Shinnosuke's blood type is O, while Ryoma's is A.
  • Shinnosuke is the first lead Kamen Rider to not use a motorcycle.
    • Although Shinnosuke doesn't, the Drive that was featured in the first episode before him, Protodrive, was riding one.
Drive Ep

Drive performing Carranger's pose.

  • Drive's Super Sentai counterparts would be Kousoku Sentai TurborangerIcon-crosswiki, Gekisou Sentai CarrangerIcon-crosswiki, and Engine Sentai Go-OngerIcon-crosswiki due to all three teams having a car motif.
    • Coincidentally, the latter two teams had members who were in law enforcement like Shinnosuke, with SignalmanIcon-crosswiki being a part of the Space Police traffic division and Gunpei IshiharaIcon-crosswiki being a former police officer.
    • Episode 20 features a humorous nod to Carranger, as Shinnosuke performs the team's signature pose after Roidmude 072 complains about how plain Drive's introduction is compared to Mach's intro speech.
  • Drive's suit design resembles that of Kamen Rider Accel's.
    • Coincidentally, both Shinnosuke and Ryu work in special divisions in the police force, with Ryu working with Dopant-suspected crime scenes and Shinnosuke working with Slowdown-involved crime scenes.
    • His Turbo Smash attack is similar to Accel Trial's Machine Gun Spike Maximum Drive.
  • With his profession as a police officer, Shinnosuke is the sixth policeman transformed into a Kamen Rider after Makoto HikawaMasashi Sudo, Reiji Kurosaki, Ryu Terui, and Rinko Daimon.
    • However, Shinnosuke is the first police officer to become the main Rider.
  • He's the second primary Rider to drive a car-type Rider Machine since Kotaro Minami (while as Kamen Rider Black RX).
  • He is the first primary Rider since Gentaro Kisaragi to call himself a Kamen Rider.
  • Just like Eiji Hino, Shinnosuke requires three different transformation devices, all of which are similar: A belt (The OOO Driver and the Drive Driver), a device for the arms or hands (the O Scanner and the Shift Brace) and different implements which give them different powers (the Core Medals and Shift Cars).
  • Similar to Haruto Soma, Shinnosuke has a trademark favorite snack: milk pops. Also like Haruto, comedic gags often involve his eating being interrupted.
  • Drive does not possess an O-Signal light on his helmet as Kamen Riders usually do. Instead, it is replaced with his emblem, a silver R stylized enough that it resembles a K and enclosing a D, which can stand for "Kamen Rider Drive". The emblem does not "light up", however, as behind it is a vertical line, similar to path "guide lights" in some dangerous roads, that flashes with his eyes as he shifts tires. Occasionally, the eyes would instead glow when he's resolved or when he's about to fight really well.
  • Shinnosuke's relationship with Kiriko resembles both Shotaro and Akiko's from W, as well as Tsukasa and Natsumi's from Decade.
  • As Drive, similar to Takumi and Shotaro, Shinnosuke would occasionally flick his right hand during fights.
  • Shinnosuke has two main transformation poses, similar to Shouichi Tsugami. When transforming normally, he crosses his arms then rotates his hands in the image of a spinning wheel as the armor materializes, ending with spread hands, overall similar to Yuusuke Godai. When transforming inside Tridoron, he slides his hand across his face with a single thumb up, similar to Itsuro Takamizawa.
  • Shinnosuke is one of the few Heisei era Riders to be referred to and acknowledged in his own series as a Kamen Rider.
  • Shinnosuke is the first Rider since OOO to have a device from his predecessor's series.
    • This is however, due to their predecessor's collectible items emitting sound instead of the transformation belts.
  • Shinnosuke is simillar to Gentaro Kisaragi as both have experienced failure in accessing some forms.
    • 1st: Shinnosuke failed to access Type Wild due to a sudden bout of depression. Gentaro failed to access Elek States due to the unfamiliarity of the Elek Switch's States-changing power.
    • 2nd: Shinnosuke failed to access Type Technic due to being unable to be "cool" until the third try. Gentaro failed to access Magnet States due to the sheer power of the Magnet Switches, then the untested MagPhone, and succeeded on the third try.
      • Even more coincidentally, the episodes and circumstances for accessing these forms are exactly the same: Episodes 5 and 6 of both shows showed a two-part arc of the two Riders resolving the issues to access their melee-based form change, and both issues were that of getting over the betrayal of trust by people the Riders thought were friendly. Episode 9 had the Riders encounter and finish off the monster in the same episode by unveiling their new gun-based form change (though Type Technic is merely just more geared towards the Door-Ju).
    • Both have a Fusion Form derived from the Secondary Rider's power source. However, Shinnosuke's Type Dead Heat form is more of a new development power, and allows him to transform into this form without sacrificing Mach's transformation.
  • Drive's Type Technic's mechanical abilities are similar to that of Kamen Rider Black RX's Robo Rider. Also like Robo Rider, Shinnosuke has a habit of moving like a robot as Type Technic.
    • Another similar trait to Kamen Rider Black RX is how changing forms requires a specific mentality.
  • Both Drive and Mach's similarities in Type Dead Heat (save for their helmets) harkens back to the Double Riders, where their suits eventually became near-identical to each others' with only a few differences between them.
  • Shinnosuke is the first primary Rider and the second Rider since Hajime Aikawa to retain himself while in a berserk-like state. However, unlike Hajime, Shinnosuke is in full knowledge of what he's doing, as his suit is just not letting him control himself.
  • Drive's Type Formula is the first Super Form that will be damaged due to overuse and yet can be fixed at the same time.
  • Drive's Type High Speed's great defensive abilities is similar to Kamen Rider Wizard's Infinity Style. Additionally, they both have silver colors as the base of said forms.
  • Fitting the RPG character class theme of his first three forms, Drive's Type Speed represents the rogue/thief character class, with his Type Wild being the warrior and his Type Technic being the mage.
