Shinji Koba (古葉 進次, Koba Shinji) is the deputy officer of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and a minor antagonist turned ally in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future.
History[]
During the events of the film, he ordered the police to apprehend Shinnosuke at the height of the crisis caused by Dark Drive. Later, after Kiriko Shijima confronted him, he gave the order for the police to assist Shinnosuke in fighting Dark Drive and the Future Roidmudes.
Personality[]
Shinji is a strong believer that Police Officer has to deliver justice to protect its citizen no matter what is the sacrifice. This belief gives him a blind spot for not able to see even accept the fact that Shinnosuke is being tricked.
However, Shinji is reasonable enough after he has been pushed towards the edge to turn the tide of the situation and calling his troops to aid Shinnosuke.

Shinji Koba is portrayed by Shingo Yanagisawa (柳沢 慎吾, Yanagisawa Shingo), who previously played Mimihiko in Cho Kamen Rider Den-O & Decade Neo Generations: The Onigashima Warship.

Who is Dark Drive?
- Shinji Koba was one of the suspects for the identity of Kamen Rider Dark Drive, which was the subject of mystery in the run-up to the premiere of Surprise Future, with a trailer following the Drive episode airing on the Sunday before the film's release offering a list of six suspects which also included Go Shijima, Krim Steinbelt, Chase, Kiriko Shijima and Eiji Tomari. Ultimately, it turned out to be Paradox Roidmude disguised as Eiji.
