The SB-555M Smart Pad (SB-555M スマートパッド, SB-555M Smāto Paddo) is a versatile Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)[1] equipped with numerous features designed for efficient information management and display. By inserting a dedicated memory card, users can input data and have the information displayed on the monitor in text format. This includes information on individuals who have awakened as Orphnoch, lists of traitors to Smart Brain, and messages from President Murakami. By reading these memory cards, the device can display all pertinent information on its screen, ensuring that users have immediate access to vital details.
This functionality makes the Smart Pad a crucial tool for users such as Smart Lady and Yuji Kiba[2], who utilize it extensively in the early stages of their activities. Other characters like Saeko Kageyama and President Murakami also use the same model, highlighting its widespread utility among Smart Brain associates.
Features[]
- The cover of the Smart Pad serves a crucial role in protecting the main unit from external interference, safeguarding the integrity of the data stored within. Its durability is such that it can even deflect bullets, ensuring the safety of the device's contents.
- With the play and rewind buttons, users can easily navigate through the information stored on memory cards. This functionality allows for convenient playback and review of data, enhancing the usability of the Smart Pad for information retrieval tasks.
- The Card Slit (カードスリット, Kādo Suritto) provides a convenient entry point for inserting memory cards into the Smart Pad. Users can easily access and load memory cards into the device, enabling the retrieval of information stored on them.
- The AC Jack (ACジャック, AC Jakku) serves as the port for connecting the electric coat to charge the Smart Pad's battery. This feature ensures that the device remains powered and operational, ready for use whenever needed.
- The Power Switch (電源スイッチ, Dengen Suitchi) activates the internal mechanisms of the Smart Pad, powering it on and placing it in Standby State (スタンバイ状態, Sutanbai Jōtai) when not in use. This simple yet essential feature controls the device's power state, conserving energy when not in active use.

Trivia[]
- During the airing of the series, the Smart Pad was actually sold as a DX toy, along with compatible memory cards available through Carddass. This release was somewhat unusual, given that the Smart Pad was neither used by the main protagonist nor frequently featured, making it a relatively minor item in the storyline.
- The reasoning behind the decision to market such a niche product can be traced to practical considerations from retailers. Stores preferred to avoid empty shelf space, and thus, producing a variety of merchandise helped maintain a well-stocked appearance.
- Additionally, the Smart Pad was also available as part of the "Kamen Rider Faiz Kit" candy toy series.
- As time passed since the original broadcast, the Smart Pad garnered renewed attention during the 2019 "Heisei Kamen Rider Films: Rewatch the Classics! Campaign". In this campaign, Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost was voted the number one film. At the stage greeting for this event, producer Shinichiro Shirakura, who was involved with the film, made a candid remark referring to the Smart Pad as "a gadget that didn't sell well."
