Riku Sunayama (砂山 理玖, Sunayama Riku) is a primary school student who makes friends with Saboneedle.
History[]
Riku Sunayama is the only child of Kenji Sunayama, a HRD Manager of Kousei Business Ltd. As such, Kenji had high hopes for him to succeed in life, thus he put Riku to Cram School. However, the hardness of his study didn't allow Riku to make any friends, thus resulting in Riku profound sadness, something that Kenji didn't notice.
One day, Riku meet a stranded Cactus Chemy, Saboneedle in a park. The two immediately become friends with each other, as Riku affectionately called the Chemy as Sabosuke. Unfortunately, Riku closeness with Saboneedle resulting with Riku often coming late to his school, his grades decreasing over time, and Riku had cuts on his fingers due to Saboneedle spikes. These factors aggravated Kenji and forces Riku to discard Saboneedle away, much to Riku and Saboneedle sorrow.
Personality[]
During Riku initial meeting with Houtarou, Riku is shown to be apathetic and rather rude due to his problem regarding his bond with Saboneedle. However, Riku meeting with Houtarou eventually warmed his heart and he become more vocal and resolved to protect his bond with Saboneedle.

Riku Sunayama is portrayed by Minato Shogaki (正垣 湊都, Shōgaki Minato), he would later go on to portray Haruki in Kamen Rider Geats: Jyamato Awaking.
