Rider No. 3: His Name is V3! (ライダー3号 その名はV3!, Raidā Sangō Sono Na wa Buisurī!) is the first episode of Kamen Rider V3. The first part of the opening arc which sees the creation of a third Kamen Rider by Kamen Riders #1 and #2, it was initally conceived as the ninety-ninth episode of the original series.[1]
Synopsis[]
The hard-won peace obtained with the defeat of Gel Shocker by Kamen Riders #1 and #2, is now shattered by a more powerful secret society known as Destron. Disposing of all those who witness their sinister movements, they target Shiro Kazami, a young motorcross racer. After Hasami Jaguar murders his family, Shiro vows vengeance and becomes Kamen Rider V3.

- The opening credits for this episode conclude with merely more footage of V3 driving on Hurricane; the opening narrative explaining his origin will not be added until the next episode.
- Footage from this episode, depicting V3's creation and Hasami Jaguar, is featured as part of Tobee Tachibana's retrospective in episode 27 of Kamen Rider X.
- This episode would receive a prequel 41 years after its premiere in the form of the S.I.C. Hero Saga story, Kamen Rider: Episode 99, its name being based on this episode's initial number. Following Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimonji from the events of the original series finale as well as introducing Hasami Jaguar and never-before seen Shocker cyborgs Kenji/Macrophandes and Mieko/Hydragen.
