Rider Core IDs (ライダーコアID, Raidā Koa Ai Dī),[1] also known as ID Cores (IDコア, Ai Dī Koa), are personal identification code terminals used by participants of the Desire Grand Prix, Jyamato Grand Prix, and the Desire Royale.
Design[]
A Rider Core ID consists of the following parts:
- Drival Lock (ドライバルロック, Doraibaru Rokku): The locking mechanism. It locks when set in the Desire Driver and will never come loose, even in fierce battles.
- Adcrest (アドクレスト, Adokuresuto): The storage device. With high-capacity internal storage despite its small size, it retains information such as the behavior and scores of Desire Grand Prix participants. This allows the person linked to a ID Core to recall forgotten memories by touching it. It is also used by the management to monitor the status of each participant.
Functionality[]
Rider Core IDs are placed into the center of the Desire Driver, allowing a player to register in the Desire Grand Prix as a Kamen Rider. The player can assumes Entry Raise Form in the game when the Core ID is solely inserted in the Desire Driver. Every Core ID is linked to one individual, and cannot be shared by anyone else.[Conspiracy IV: Recapture the Driver!]
When a player equips a driver with the Core ID inserted, they can access the Desire Temple with the authorization of the DGP management. So the DGP management also has the right to ban the entry towards the Temple of any player if they want. However the player can overcome this priority if they own a Vision Driver due to its higher authority.[Yearning I: Buffa Unrivaled!]
ID Cores additionally function as storage devices and retain information such as the behavior and scores of players. Touching one will allow a civilian to restore their memories regarding the Desire Grand Prix, regardless of whether they played or witnessed a game. It also stores the feelings of the players to grant their own desires, which is called "Gira Gira" by the DGP management, with the eliminated players' ID Core used as the power source to activate the Goddess of Genesis to recreate the world as the one Dezashin wished for according to his Desire Card.
When a player loses in a DGP game, the Core ID will vanish, where it is kept in the Game Master's possession, and can be given to a returning player if they are selected to rejoin the games. The Sponsors and Supporters can obtain some of IDs through their authority, as seen when Kousei Kurama owns Ben and John's Core ID and Beroba use her authority to regain Nadge-Sparrow's Core ID for Daichi Isuzu. This implies that they can affect all players' entry rights, except Ace Ukiyo who use his first wish to overpower the DGP management's authority to protect his own.
Upon a player being fatally injured by Jyamato, the Core ID will crack and the player dies, vanishing them from the battlefield. Once they disappear, the player's deceased body will appear in Archimedel's Jyamar Garden, who uses their corpse and Core ID to fertilize the garden's soil. The ID data used in the selective breeding causes new mutations in the premature Jyamato infants.
Although cracked Core IDs normally cannot allow a player to transform, the player can brute-force the transformation, though doing so will cause severe pain and combat ability to be significantly hampered by the paralyzing electric shocks. The resulting Entry Raise Form suit generated by the transformation will also have a partially damaged appearance. However, cracked Core IDs are able to be restored to their original appearance, as shown when Suel had a box of seven IDs (with Buffa's fixed despite being previously cracked). The method of restoration, however, is unknown.
ID Cores are also able to be destroyed by brute force without needing to fatally wound a player. Doing so will result in the corresponding ID's player being retired, with them unable to transform into a Kamen Rider ever again.[Yearning I: Buffa Unrivaled!] However, destroyed ID Cores can be restored and recreated with a God of Genesis's powers (as well as strong wishes from other individuals to empower it), though this requires an already existing ID Core as a basis, thus transferring the entry.[Genesis VI: Neon, Shines]

Compatibility[]
Though any Rider is able to use any of the Raise Buckles, each Rider Core ID has a specific Raise Buckle which they have a higher compatibility with, as explained by Ace.[Encounter IV: Duo Concentration] Such higher compatibility enables the Rider to draw out more power in battle, though such also depends on the Rider's skill in utilizing the Buckle to its full potential.
- Geats - Magnum
- Buffa - Zombie
- Tycoon - Ninja
- Na-Go - Beat
- PunkJack - Monster
- Seeker - Powered Builder
- Gya-Go - Fantasy
Using Legend Rider Raise Buckles carries a unique aspect, as the movie revealed that if a former Rider were to acquire a Desire Driver and a Rider Core ID based on their original form, and insert a Raise Buckle based on their original driver, the user would transform into their original form, with the Desire Driver taking on the form of their original transformation device.
Notes[]
- The DX version of the Desire Driver does not distinguish between different Rider Core IDs, as all of the Core IDs make the same "Entry" announcement.[2]
- The Kamen Rider Revi and Vice Core IDs are the first to be based on (as well as used by) past Riders.
- When filming scenes which use chroma keying, the prop for the Tycoon Core ID is replaced with a blue version so that it does not become transparent and is later rendered green during post-production.
- Togetchi's ID Core is the only one on which the animal symbol is not surrounded by a background formed from the secondary color. Instead, it is surrounded by the same blue as the rest of the ID Core.
- Kamen Rider Geats is the only Rider who has more than one ID Core based on him.
- Gya-Go's ID Core is the only ID Core to be turned into that of another Rider.
- For reasons unknown, the small inverted triangle on XGeats' forehead is present on the DX version of his ID Core but not the prop that appeared in the movie. When the emblem design was reused for the Dooms Geats ID Core, the mark was present on the prop as well.
