This article is about a/an novel in Kamen Rider Gaim.

Real Riders: Kaito Kumon Gaiden (REAL RIDERS 駆紋戒斗外伝 Riaru Raidāsu Kaito Kumon Gaiden) is a short story written by Mitsunori Enami (Magician Skunk Series) under the supervision of Kamen Rider Gaim head writer Gen Urobuchi.

Kaito's father was the family's sole breadwinner but after his company and land was bought out by Yggdrasill, his family put him in an orphanage because they can't afford to raise him. Said orphanage is near the shrine where Mai's family owns.

Mai keeps asking Kaito to play with her but he was too shy. Kaito always watched her dance and believe that was the reason he had the strength to go on. Kaito kept declining adoption because he was waiting for his parents to come back to him. Sadly, his parents didn't return and stayed in the orphanage until he was 16.

In his high school years, Kaito bumped into Kouta once and thought he was weak for apologizing instead of fighting him. He later dropped out of high school and formed a dance team. The reason why he formed a dance team is after he heard that Mai's family shrine was taken down and decided that dancing would be the best way to pay tribute.

The Dance Teams used to dance in the Outer City Areas before being bribed by Yggdrasill to take place in the Inner Area with the Lock Seeds. Team Baron was the first team to get the Lock Seeds. The first team they beat was Severe Beat. Zack, a former Severe Beat member joins Team Baron. Lastly, Peko was Mai's classmate and was invited to join Team Gaim, but declined it because he wanted to be at the top team (Team Baron).

  • This novel is considered non-canon due the events of the Kamen Rider Gaim Gaiden films that contradicted the original character's pasts in both original series and the manga above. As shown:
