This article is about a set of collectible devices in Kamen Rider Geats. |
Raise Buckles (レイズバックル, Reizu Bakkuru) are belt buckle-like devices used by the Riders in Kamen Rider Geats.
Overview
Every Raise Buckle has a unique method of activation when used in the Desire Driver. They are found in Mission Boxes during games, either randomly placed in the game area or as rewards for completing objectives. The Raise Buckle a Rider is currently using will often be left behind if they are defeated. When a Desire Grand Prix ends, all Raise Buckles return to the management's possession
There are two main types of Raise Buckle that differ in size.[1] Larger Raise Buckles equip a Rider with full armor on either their upper or lower half, depending on which side of the Desire Driver it is on. These forms have unique abilities and are often armed with a unique weapon. Generally, only one copy of a certain Raise Buckle will appear during the course of an entire Desire Grand Prix, with the main exception being the Feverslot Buckle.
Smaller Raise Buckles equip the Rider with only sparse armor and do not affect the user's abilities, but arms them with a corresponding Raise Weapon. They are typically used in the right-hand slot of the Desire Driver to equip the Rider's upper half, but can also be used on the other side while retaining the Raise Weapon. These Raise Buckles are quite common, as multiple copies of one can appear during a single round.
Legend Rider Raise Buckles are a type of smaller Raise Buckle that are based on the transformation belts of Legend Riders. Unlike other Raise Buckles, they do not have unique activation methods, as each is activated by pressing the face of the Raise Buckle. They equip the user with armor based on the Legend Rider and equip them with the Rider's weapon. When Kamen Rider Revi used his own Raise Buckle, he was instead transformed into his base form, with the Desire Driver being replaced by his Revice Driver.[Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale]
Functionality
A user equipped with a Desire Driver inserts one or two Raise Buckles into either slot of the driver, and activates the Buckle's activation functionality, initiating the transformation and equipping the user with the specific Raise Buckle's upper/lower armor.
According to Ace Ukiyo, each Core ID has a Large-type Raise Buckle that is most compatible with it. For example, Geats is most compatible with the Magnum Buckle, and Buffa is the most compatible with the Zombie Buckle.
When utilizing a finisher in either the Desire Driver, Magnum Shooter 40X, or Geats Buster QB9, the user activates the Raise Buckle's functionality.

Uniquely, the Boost Buckle can be used to perform a stronger Boost Time finisher. However, doing so will cause the Raise Buckle to eject from the Desire Driver afterward and fly away. The icons representing the Magnum, Ninja, Beat, Zombie, and Monster Buckles will result in that specific form. The ??? icon instead randomly equips the armor of any existing Raise Buckle. When this icon results in an Armed form, only the sound effects and music of the transformation announcement play. When whatever form accessed by the Feverslot Buckle matches a second Raise Buckle used in the Desire Driver, it results in a stronger Fever form. Due to its design, it is normally used in the right-hand slot of the Desire Driver. Five copies of this Raise Buckle were distributed at once by the Game Master.
Despite its chance to grant a very powerful Fever Form, this Raise Buckle's effectiveness in battle depends entirely on luck. As a result, the user often ends up with weak Armed forms or ones they are unfamiliar with. However, the user may remove the Feverslot Buckle and reinsert it before pulling the lever again to retry as many times as they want.
The Feverslot Buckle consists of the following parts:
- Golden Lever (ゴールデンレバー, Gōruden Rebā): The Feverslot Buckle's input device. Commands are input by pulling the lever forward.
- Raise Jackpot (レイズジャックポット, Reizu Jakkupotto): The Feverslot Buckle's reel. It rotates upon receiving input from the Golden Lever and deploys Raise Buckle equipment according to the randomly displayed pattern. Furthermore, if the same pattern as the Dual On Raise Buckle appears, it activates a special power called Fever (フィーバー, Fībā) that increases its power by several times.
- Feverslot Reactor (フィーバースロットリアクター, Fībā Surotto Riakutā): Displays the output of the Desire Driver's Torus Reactor (トーラスリアクター, Tōrasu Riakutā) when using the Feverslot Buckle.

Command Twin Buckle (コマンドツインバックル, Komando Tsuin Bakkaru): A set of two Raise Buckles, the orange Command Jet Buckle (コマンドジェットバックル, Komando Jetto Bakkaru) and the blue Command Cannon Buckle (コマンドキャノンバックル, Komando Kyanon Bakkaru). Using the Command Jet Buckle in the Desire Driver allows the user to access Raising Form and also grants the Raising Sword with the Command Cannon Buckle attached. The first Command Jet Buckle was sent to Geats by Niramu. A second one is later given to Tycoon by Girori for the purpose of defeating Geats. From then on, it can be sent to any Rider by their Supporter as the reward for completing a Secret Mission.
The Command Cannon Buckle must be charged by using the Raising Sword in order to be removed. Both Raise Buckles can then be used together in the Desire Driver to access Command Form. When the Command Cannon Buckle is on the right-hand side of the Desire Driver, Command Form will be in Cannon Mode. When the Command Jet Buckle is on the right-hand side, it will be in Jet Mode. Cancelling the transformation will cause the Command Cannon Buckle to disappear again, so the user must start in Raising Form and charge the Raising Sword each time they want the want to use Command Form.
The Command Twin Buckle consists of the following parts:
- Jet Raiser (ジェットレイザー, Jetto Reizā): The Command Twin Buckle's activation device. After setting the Command Jet Buckle in the Desire Driver, input will deploy various equipment and the Raising Sword.
- Cannon Thrust Lever (キャノンスラストレバー, Kyanon Surasuto Rebā): The Command Twin Buckle's input device. Commands are input by pulling the lever.
- Command Reactor (コマンドリアクター, Komando Riakutā): Displays the output of the Desire Driver's Torus Reactor (トーラスリアクター, Tōrasu Riakutā) when using the Command Buckles. In addition, the Twin Set dramatically increases the energy conversion efficiency and stably generates high output that exceeds conventional performance.

Boost MarkII Buckle (ブーストマークIIバックル, Būsuto Māku Tsū Bakkuru): Used by Kamen Rider Geats to access his super form, Boost Form MarkII. It can also be used by Geats in conjunction with the Laser Raise Riser in the Desire Driver to access his upgraded super form, LaserBoost Form. It was created when the Goddess of Genesis combined five copies of the standard Boost Buckle. Unlike the original Boost Buckle, the Boost MarkII Buckle does not eject itself after activating a finisher, allowing for it to be used numerous times. However, without the Laser Raise Riser, it will cause the user to suffer from severe fatigue.
The Boost MarkII Buckle consists of the following parts:
- Boost Throttle MarkII (ブーストスロットルマークII, Būsuto Surottoru Māku II): Input device for the Boost MarkII buckle. Command input is performed by squeezing the grip like a motorcycle throttle.
- Prometheus Boost Reactor (プロメテウスブーストリアクター, Purometeusu Būsuto Riakutā): Displays the output of the reaction furnace Torus Reactor (トーラスリアクター, Tōrasu Riakutā) of the Desire Driver when using the Boost MarkII buckle.
- Breaking Exhaust (ブレイキングエグゾースト, Bureikingu Eguzōsuto): Activation device for the Boost MarkII buckle. After setting it on the Desire Driver, it receives input from the input device Boost Throttle MarkII (ブーストスロットルマークII, Būsuto Surottoru Māku II) and activates by simultaneously opening the four exhaust ports, each independently demonstrating explosively high output. However, as the output increases, peaky characteristics become more pronounced, and high-order output adjustment capability is required to obtain maximum output.

Boost MarkIX Buckle (ブーストマークIXバックル, Būsuto Māku Nain Bakkuru):[2] A set of two Raise Buckles used by Kamen Rider Geats to access his final form, GeatsIX, equipping him with the Geats Buster QB9. Before separating, they are initially combined into the single Boost MarkIII Buckle (ブーストマークIIIバックル, Būsuto Māku Surī Bakkuru),[3] and can be used by Geats to access Boost Form MarkIII. The Boost MarkIII Buckle is also used with the Oneness Buckle and Oneness ID Core to transform into Kamen Rider Geats Oneness. This Raise Buckle was created by Ace himself upon witnessing his mother Mitsume as the Goddess of Genesis shatter during the commencement of the Grand End.

After setting it on the transformation belt Desire Driver, it is activated by simultaneously opening the three exhaust ports in response to input from the input device Boost Throttle MarkIII (ブーストスロットルマークⅢ, Būsuto Surottoru Māku Surī). This achieves stable and ultra-high output by harmonizing the output of each exhaust port.
- MarkIX:

The Jyamato Buckle consists of the following parts:
- Grow Exposure (グロウエクスポージャー, Gurou Ekusupōjā): The Jyamato Buckle's plant activator. It converts and amplifies the enormous energy generated by the Desire Driver into a special ray that causes plants to grow rapidly.
- Metamor Ivy (メタモルアイビー, Metamoru Aibī): The special equipment deployment mechanism. It grows rapidly when exposed to the special ray emitted by the Grow Exposure, enveloping the user and deploying the Jyamato Rider equipment.
Shark Buckle (シャークバックル, Shāku Bakkuru)[5]: The winning submission of Televi Magazine's Raise Buckle Design Contest. As a prize for winning, Bandai used the submitted drawing to create proper concept art for the Raise Buckle along with the associated form for Kamen Rider Geats, Shark Form.
Unused Raise Buckles
These are Raise Buckles that have sounds programmed into the DX Desire Driver, Magnum Shooter 40X, Vision Driver, Geats Buster QB9 and Zillion Driver , but have no confirmation regarding their presence in either the show or the toyline, and exist here for completion's sake.[6][7]

Behind the Scenes
Portrayal
Except for the Dooms Geats Buckle being voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (松岡 禎丞, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu) (who voiced Suel, the Laser Raise Riser, Vision Driver, and Zillion Driver), all Raise Buckles are voiced by an unknown voice actor.
Etymology
- They are named "Buckles" because they are affixed to a belt, the Desire Driver.
Notes
- The Raise Buckles are the first collectible devices in which the designs of the personal trinkets are completely different from those of auxiliary ones.
- The small Raise Buckles are the first collectible devices in which the DX, GP, and SG versions have no notable differences in functionality or design.[8]
- Each of the Raise Buckles can be used in either slot of the Desire Driver, and any two of them can be used together. As a result, they are the first trinkets to not have any restrictions in terms of how they are used or combined with each other.
- Each of the large Raise Buckles has a unique, slightly different version of the "Set" and "Ready, fight" announcements when used in the Desire Driver.
- The Jyamato and XGeats Buckles are the only Raise Buckles that do not announce "Set" or any variation of it.
- Sometimes in the DX toyline, however, the XGeats Buckle's "Black Out" announcement conflicts with the Desire Driver's "Set" announcement when heard properly.
- The Jyamato, Feverslot, and Powered Builder Buckles are the only Raise Buckles to not announce any variation of "Ready, fight".
- The Jyamato and XGeats Buckles are the only Raise Buckles that do not announce "Set" or any variation of it.
- The Magnum Buckle has design elements tied to Shinto iconography, as the patterns on the revolver chamber are shaped like magatama prayer beads. The chambers may also be based on the tomoe often painted on drums.
- The Zombie Buckle features heavy metal-like shouts at the beginning of its transformation announcements. However, what is being said cannot be discerned, and this part is not included in the advertisements or instruction manual for the DX toy.
- Whereas the DX version returns automatically via a spring, in-series the Zombie Buckle's key must be manually returned to its initial position after it is turned. The spring that caused this was removed with the release of the Premium DX Memorial Zombie Raise Buckle to make it more show accurate.[9]
- As the Desire Driver is unable to distinguish between the left and right slots due to the Revolve On function, it is programmed to announce large and small Raise Buckles in a certain order. However, when a large Raise Buckle and small Raise Buckle are used together, the large one will always come first.
- For large Raise Buckles, the order from highest to lowest priority is Great, Beat, Fantasy, Monster, Ninja, Zombie, Boost, and Magnum.
- Despite the Magnum Buckle coming after the Boost Buckle in this sequence, the finisher with these two Raise Buckles will be the Magnum Boost Victory.
- For the Armed Raise Buckles, the order from highest to lowest priority is Mechanical Arm, Bazooka, Bomber, Merry Christmas, Special, Spear, Propeller, Knuckle, Scissors, Drill, Fire, Chain Array, Claw, Water, Arrow, Shield, Hammer, and Dagger.
- For large Raise Buckles, the order from highest to lowest priority is Great, Beat, Fantasy, Monster, Ninja, Zombie, Boost, and Magnum.
- The Monster Buckle is the only standard Raise Buckle that has a unique standby sound.
- While the Boost Buckle uses the standard standby sound before transformation, the Boost Time finisher has a unique standby sound.
- The Beat Buckle instead produces one of three additional music loops depending on which piano key is pressed. These play alongside the standard standby sound produced by the Desire Driver.
- The Monster Buckle is also the only Raise Buckle that must be activated twice for a standard finisher due to the way the eye opening gimmick works.
- The DX Beat Buckle is the only standard Raise Buckle to have electronics and produce its own sounds.
- The Ninja and Monster Buckles were both first used by Geats before being passed on to the Riders they are most compatible with.
- Conversely, the Zombie and Beat Buckles were used by Geats in conjunction with Boost.
- Though the DX Gigant Buckles and the Bujin Sword Buckle's right side can be inserted into the Desire Driver, they do not possess any buttons to trigger transformation announcements from the Driver. However, they are recognized as "Great" due to all of them possessing the same pin combination as the Command Jet Buckle.
- The Magnum Shooter 40X, Ninja Dueler, Zombie Breaker, and Beat Axe Buckles share the same pin combinations as the corresponding Raise Buckles (Magnum, Ninja, Zombie, and Beat).
- Despite being able to insert the Beat Axe Buckle into the Powered Builder Buckle to summon the Beat Axe, the DX Powered Builder Buckle does not incorporate a unique sound for it, instead using the announcement for when a normal Armed Raise Buckle is inserted.
- Unlike the other Raise Buckles, the Jyamato Buckle's transformation announcement starts immediately when the Raise Buckle is inserted into the Desire Driver instead of having to activate its gimmick.
- In the DX toyline, when a Raise Buckle with sounds programmed into the Desire Driver is used alongside a Raise Buckle that produces its own transformation announcement, the former will only have its name announced by the Desire Driver rather than the full transformation announcement. The sound clip used is the same one that occurs in finisher announcements, and it plays immediately after the Raise Buckle is activated. However, the result of using such Buckles together varies in the series.
- When Geats used the Powered Builder and Boost Buckles together, only the Powered Builder Buckle's transformation announcement played.
- When Buffa used the Zombie and Jyamato Buckles together, the "Zombie" announcement played after the Jyamato Buckle's transformation announcement. However, unlike in the toyline, the sound clip is taken from the Zombie Buckle's normal transformation announcement.
- When Buffa used the Zombie and Feverslot Buckles together, the "Zombie" announcement was triggered immediately upon activating the Zombie Buckle like in the toyline. This resulted in it playing before the Feverslot Buckle's transformation announcement, as he had activated the Zombie Buckle first. However, like when it was used with the Jyamato Buckle, the sound clip is from the Zombie Buckle's normal transformation announcement.
- Non-upgrade large Raise Buckles generally do not appear twice in a single DGP. There are only two exceptions to this.
- In Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale, Ikki Igarashi is given a Beat Buckle by Ace despite Na-Go also using one.
- In episode 27, Beroba equips a GM Jyamato Rider with the Magnum Buckle despite Geats already possessing one. This is repeated with Da·Paan's return in episode 45, as she gives him a second Magnum Buckle under the same circumstances.
- Like the Shinobi Buckle, the Fantasy Buckle is also retooled from the Ninja Buckle. However, despite lacking electronics, the retooling is far more substantial; the shuriken piece of the original is replaced with a sun-derived eight-pointed star, while the kunai-styled handle is replaced with a different key-styled design.
- Due to not being able to detect another Raise Buckle used in the Desire Driver, the DX Feverslot Buckle always produces the announcements for Fever Forms.
- The DX Feverslot Buckle also features a knob to manually select a desired result rather than having to rely on chance.
- The Boost Buckle is the only known Raise Buckle to have upgraded variants.
- With the exception of the transformation announcement and handle turning sound effect, the Boost MarkII and MarkIII Buckles use the same sounds as the standard Boost Buckle.
- However, the Boost MarkII Buckle's design prevents it from being used with other large Raise Buckles, and neither it nor the Boost MarkIII Buckle can be inserted into the Magnum Shooter 40X or Geats Buster QB9, making it impossible to activate those sounds with these Raise Buckles.
- The Command Jet, Boost MarkII, and Boost MarkIII Buckles are the only upgraded Raise Buckles to not have their own sounds, instead using sounds programmed into the Desire Driver like normal Raise Buckles.
- They also require another device with its own sounds to access a specific form (Command Jet with Command Cannon to access Command Form, Boost MarkII with the Laser Raise Riser to access LaserBoost Form, and Boost MarkIII with either the Boost MarkIX Buckle's left side or the Oneness Buckle to access GeatsIX or Geats Oneness respectively).
- The Fantasy Buckle is the only Buckle to give a different mouthpiece between users.
- The XGeats Buckle is a recolored version of the Boost MarkIX Buckle, which is also the same case with Dooms Geats Buckle. Because of this, the toy developer in Bandai's official blog posts mentioned that it is possible to invoke the sound of Boost Mark III Buckle without separating it into two.[10][11]
- The Oneness Buckle is the first collectible device overall to utilize another trinket from a succeeding season to access a form, in this case the Kamen Rider Geats (Oneness ver.) Ride Chemy Card.
- It is one of three devices to use collectible devices from multiple series, with the others being the GingaOh Driver and the Zein Driver, though these are Drivers rather than collectible devices themselves.
- Unlike the other buckles, which are either retail or Premium Bandai releases, the Oneness Buckle is exclusive as a set bonus with early shipments of the DX Gotchardriver. This is because the buckle uses the same collectable as the next series' driver.
- As previously mentioned how the Desire Driver is numerically programmed to read the Raise Buckles in a certain order, the Legend Rider Raise Buckles are programmed to be announced from the latest series to the oldest series, with the Two Sidriver, Libera Driver, and Demons Driver Buckles coming after the Revice Driver Buckle.
- Despite each having been used by two different Riders, the Two Sidriver and Demons Driver Buckles are based on the primary users.
- However, the finisher sounds for the Two Sidriver Buckle in the the Desire Driver announce "Live & Evil", even though only Live's transformation announcement is used.
- Similarly, other Raise Buckles are based on Drivers that are common to most or all Riders in a series, but the announcements and associated forms are only based on the protagonist Rider.
- The Wizardriver, Sengoku Driver, Ziku-Driver, Seiken Swordriver, and Demons Driver Buckles are the only Legend Rider Raise Buckles to have glitter variants.
- Due to its shared transformation noise, the V Buckle is the only Raise Buckle to have two variations (for Ryuki and Ouja). However since the designated pin is intended to Ryuki alone, Ouja's version also announced "Ryuki Strike!" for its finishing move. As such when it appeared in the Hyper Battle DVD, only "Strike!" announcement is audible to maintain its accuracy to its corresponding Rider.
- The Ongekiko Kaenzetsuzumi and Kabuto Zecter Buckles are the only Legend Rider Raise Buckles that are not based on transformation belts.
- The Kabuto Zecter is still used for transformation along with the Rider Belt, while the Ongekiko Kaenzetsuzumi is Hibiki's signature weapon instead of his transformation device, the Henshin Onsa Onkaku.
- The Typhoon, Double Typhoon, Kingstone, Decadriver, Doubledriver, OOO Driver, and Zero-One Driver Buckles are the only Legend Rider Raise Buckles available in the DX Toyline.
- The DX Revice Driver Buckle was exclusive to a campaign for buying the DX Desire Driver.
- The DX Arcle, V Buckle, Den-O Belt, and Build Driver Buckles could only be obtained with specific magazine issues.
- The DX Kivat Belt Buckle could only be obtained via purchasing a towel.
- The DX Kabuto Zecter Buckle could originally only be obtained via purchasing a shirt or a fabric/cardboard Mission Box, though it was later released in the SG toyline.
- All other Legend Rider Raise Buckles are included in the SG Toyline.
- The Shinobi Buckle is a retool of the Ninja Buckle. Thus, it is the first large-size Raise buckle to be retooled from another and the first Legend Rider Raise Buckle not to be themed after the featured Rider's transformation device or share the same mold as the other Legend Rider Buckles.
- Additionally, its logo is a purple-recolored variant of the Ninja Buckle's logo.
- The Shinobi Buckle is also the only Legend Rider Raise Buckle to have its own sounds. This is the first time electronics have been added to the retool of a transformation trinket after the original mold lacked any.
- The Shinobi Buckle is also the first DX Raise Buckle to be released by Premium Bandai under the name of "Premium DX", as opposed to others (such as Jyamato and Bujin Sword) simply named as "DX".
- Ryuki and Revice are the only series to have buckles for more than just the main Rider. Coincidentally, the crossover film between Geats and Revice featured the Ryuki Riders in supporting roles.
