Pickel Shark (ピッケルシャーク, Pikkeru Shāku) is one of Destron's mechanical synthetic monster that has the characteristics of both a shark[note 1] and a pickel.
History[]
Pickel Shark is a monster created by Dr. Nakahara, a marine biologist, and ordered by the leader of the secret society Destron to execute his own creator, who may betray the organization. After completing his mission, he was given the task of investigating the information that the traitor brought to Shiro Kazami and others, and erasing Shiro, also known as Kamen Rider V3, who would come to his hideout based on that information.
He attacked Junko Tama, who was entrusted with that information letter from Tachibana. However, this was blocked by V3, and they retreated once. At this time, Yuji Kuroda, who happened to be Junko's stalker, was abducted to the hideout. Based on the information provided by Dr. Nakahara, V3, who came to the undersea hideout, is set in a trap and the hideouts are blown up with a time bomb. However, V3 escaped in the nick of time, and this strategy also ended in failure.
Pickel Shark invited Shiro again to face the decisive battle with V3, but after a fierce battle, he received two consecutive kicks from the V3 Hanten Kick and exploded. [Junko Becomes a Mutant's Bride?!]
V3 vs. Destron Mutants[]
Pickel Shark appeared as one of the Revived Monster Corps. Together with Jishaku Inoshishi, he was waiting for Shiro Kazami to rescue the human laboratory prisoners accommodated in the Destron's unpopulated island base off the Kii Peninsula. After that, he was possible to stand in front of V3 and Double Rider who challenged the final battle with Taiho Buffalo, but was killed by the Taihou Buffalo's bombardment, which received Doctor G's extremely reckless strategy instructions. TV Magazine manga[]
Even in the comicalized version by the same author (Mitsuru Sugaya), the TV Magazine version demonstrates a wonderful combination with Drill Mogura. He built a poison gas base on the seafloor and kidnapped slaves to work, but due to the effects of the factory effluent, it became possible to catch deformed fish, so he called V3. When V3 defeats Drill Mogura, he throws it into the sea and tries to kill V3 by manipulating a man-eating shark. SPIRITS[]
Together with Doctor G, Pickel Shark attacked and suppressed Kōchi, and forced the citizens to mine Satannium. V3, who came to the mine, was attacked along with other mechanical synthetic monsters, but Kazami wasn't perfect at the time, so Pickel Shark wasn't defeated, and it can be seen him retreating with Badan's UFO. The pickel embedded on his right arm is so powerful that it can easily shatter rocks with a single swing, and it pierces people's hearts to kill them. Also, 10,000 volts of current flows through this pickel, and he has a special move called Pickel Flash (ピッケルフラッシュ, Pikkeru Furasshu) that allows him to fire this at the opponent and attack while blinding them. In addition, there are two types of Pickel Flash: a type that shoots normally and a type that directly pushes the pickel against the opponent and flows an electric current.
Boasting strong leg strength, he can swim freely in the water, and the knee kicks it unleashes from here are powerful. In addition, he boasts the same jumping power as V3, and also has the agility to easily dodge the normal V3 Kick. The left shoulder is a gill for breathing underwater, and as a shark-type cyborg, he is excellent in underwater battles, and he has the weak point that he can demonstrate power that surpasses V3 in the sea and water, but he cannot exert much power on the land.

- The scene where Thundercut rises at the beginning of Kamen Norider V2's "Sister's Conspiracy" is a parody of the scene where Pickel Shark rises for the first time.
- Pickel Shark is a favorite monster of Kenichi Muraeda, the author of Kamen Rider Spirits. In the Separate Volume, this monster image is drawn with the title of Sadistic Sea Demon (嗜虐なる海魔, Shigyakunaru Umima).
