The Overlord (オーヴァーロード, Ōvārōdo), otherwise known by his real name as Theos (テオス, Teosu)[3], is the main antagonist of Kamen Rider Agito. Identified as God itself, the Overlord is responsible for all life on Earth, having created its first inhabitants.
History[]
Background[]

Young Overlord
Long ago, Theos was the embodiment of darkness born at the dawn of the universe. After creating the Earth, he gave life to the El and the Lords. In addition, he gave live to the inhabitants of that world, he created animals in the likeness of the Lords and humans in the likeness of himself. However, as time passed, mankind began to think that they were superior to other animals, and began to excessively oppress and domesticate them. The Lords were offended by humanity's existence and declared war on mankind against Theos' wishes.
One of the Els, Prometh, felt pity for humanity and descended to Earth to copulate with a human woman to give birth to the Nephilim known as "Gills". This act angered Theos who feared that mankind will become an existence equal to himself. Theos fought Prometh in a decisive battle that had ended with him triumphant. But with his dying breath, Prometh bestowed the power of Agito, with the hopes that, one day, they would evolve beyond his control. Theos refused to let this occur, taking it upon himself to personally eliminate the vessels of Agito, ordering the Lords to kill any humans who possess the potential to "evolve" into Agito.
Revival[]

The Overlord, summoned in infant form.
Fearful of an uprising, Theos ordered the Lords to kill any humans with Prometh's blessing, allowing it as the sole exception to their "no-kill" rule.
Before returning to the heavens around the Pleistocene era, the Overlord also left a puzzle that when solved, would summon him into a physical state. In modern times, said puzzle was eventually solved by a group of scientists, bringing back Teos into their world.
Starting off as an infant, he broke out of the containment box and escaped from the OOPArts lab. However, his birth was witnessed by Sakiko Mikumo, following her after he matured to an eight-year-old boy until she was killed by Anguis Femineus. Angred at this act of cruelty, the Overlord punished the Lord by telekinetically compeling her to take her own life.
Encountering Ryo as he was near death, the Overlord used his power to prolong his life, assuming his young adult form as a result. After forced to take his leave after being nearly killed by a fear-driven Gills, the Overlord took it upon himself to personally murder Tomoko Miura, getting arrested and placed in a mental ward after he shut down from the burden of personally killing a human.
As a result, the Overlord decided to watch from the sidelines as the Lords committed various supernatural murders on anyone reaching paranormal maturity in his adult form, though he intervened once to give Agito's Machine Tornador a power boost. It would later result with Shouichi, along with Ryo and Makoto Hikawa, further complicating matters and interfering in his emissaries' work.
Before long, casualties mounted on both sides, with paranormals and Lords alike suffering heavy loses. But the loss of the El of the Water opened the eyes of the Overlord to the reality that the vessels of Agito, Shoichi Tsugami, Ryo Ashihara, and Kaoru Kino had grown too powerful. To this end, he would see to it personally that all active Agito vessels were hunted down and stripped of their Seeds of Agito, rendering them powerless.
However, the Overlord realized he needs to kill the Riders in order to quell the Seeds he already absorbed. But with Hikawa's aid, Shouichi dealt a decisive blow to the Overlord that released the Seeds of Agito back to their rightful owners and forced the Overlord to retreat. However, that shock that even normal humans had grown strong enough to oppose his power convinced the Overlord that humanity was no longer worthy of existence, and so began orchestrating their extermination and start anew.
The Overlord would put his genocide of humanity into action: realigning the constellations of the Zodiac, ultimately killing off all of mankind in bizarre doppelgänger homicides starting with those born under Scorpio. To do this requires tremendous concentration, which would render him vulnerable. To this end, he creates the El of the Wind to be his bodyguard and the El of the Ground to continue killing those reaching paranormal maturity. But the Riders make one final stand and with the El Lords destroyed, the Overlord attempts to retreat but only to be killed by Agito's Shining Rider Kick.
The Overlord's spirit survived the attack and had a conversation with Tetsuya Sawaki at the latter's final moments. Initially, the Overlord was still convinced of humanity's evil, assuming the worst. However, Sawaki argued otherwise, causing the Overlord to postpone his plans. With a serene smile, the Overlord returned to the heavens, seemingly changed by his experiences in the mortal world.
Personality[]
As a divine entity, the Overlord usually acts in a serene manner, rarely phased under ordinary situations. Having little concept of "free-will" outside his own control, the Overlord fears the idea of any rebellions happening, hence why he desires to eradicate all with Agito's powers.
While showing care for all life, the Overlord holds humanity with special regard, akin to how one treats their pets. Notably, even when executing an individual with Agito's seed, the Overlord expressed great sadness and remorse, showing no joy whatsoever.
Once fully realizing that humanity had grown beyond his concept though, the Overlord decided to eradicate all humans on Earth, much to his underlings' joy. This would cause him to severely underestimate the Kamen Riders, especially Makoto Hikawa/Kamen Rider G3-X.
While initially bitter at his defeat, the Overlord is ultimately convinced by Naoki Tetsuya to rethink his choices. To this end, the Overlord gives humanity the chance to prove worthy of life, showing a warmer expression in the end.
