This article is about a rider-like character in Kamen Rider Decade. |
- For the original Shadow Moon, see Nobuhiko Akizuki.
Nobuhiko Tsukikage (月影 ノブヒコ, Tsukikage Nobuhiko) is the main antagonist of Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker. He was a butler of the Kadoya family who transformed into Shadow Moon (シャドームーン, Shadō Mūn).
He is the World of Decade counterpart of Nobuhiko Akizuki.
History[]
Nobuhiko Tsukikage was a butler who took care of Sayo, Tsukasa Kadoya's sister and convinced her to become High Priestess Bishum as part of his plan to take over Great Shocker. When Tsukasa returned to his homeworld, Tsukikage manipulated him to subjugate the Kamen Riders who stand in the way of conquering the world. Usurping Tsukasa as leader, Nobuhiko took over the organization, calling himself the Creation King.
In addition, he uses Saya Kadoya's heart to strengthen and brainwash Yusuke Onodera into Kuuga Rising Ultimate with her Earth Stone. After the return of all the Riders, Saya destroys the Earth Stone through Tsukasa's desperate pleas, and Yusuke is released from the curse. Driven by anger, Tsukikage faces the final battle as Shadow Moon.
Easily overwhelming Yusuke and Tsukasa, Tsukikage nearly destroyed the two Riders. Suddenly though, Kamen Rider Double suddenly passes through them, assisting the heroes. Not having analyzed Double's fighting style, Tsukikage is defeated by Shotaro and Philip, being slammed into a wall of the Great Shocker tower. There, he was destroyed alongside the tower by an All-Rider-Kick.
Personality[]
Tsukikage initially presented himself as a loyal butler for Saya, with Tsukasa and the other assuming him to be a fair-weathered individual. In truth, he was a deluded madman who manipulated people for his own means.
Once shedding this facade, Tsukikage fully presented himself as a cold-hearted being, nearly murdering Tsukasa and Saya without any hesitation.
Powers and abilities[]
- Herculean strength: Owing to his cyborg auguments, Tsukikage possessed power far beyond any normal human.
- Psychic Powers: Like the original Shadow Moon, Tsukikage had an array of mystical powers. Notably, without any issue, Tsukikage shot several beams of lighting from his hands in combat.
- Nigh-unlimited resources: Similar to Narutaki, Tsukikage could somehow attain extremely powerful artifacts for others to use.
- Skilled Fighter: From studying the Kamen Riders from afar, Tsukikage swiftly analyzed their fighting styles. Combined with immense strength and natural aptitude for combat, Tsukikage proved too powerful for Tsukasa/Decade and Yuusuke/Rising Ultimate Kuuga in their fight.
- Master Manipulator: With visibly little effort, Tsukikage manipulated the Kadoya siblings into doing his bidding.
- Great Kamen Rider Knowledge: Like Tsukasa, Tsukikage is shown to have a lot of knowledge related to Kamen Riders from 1 to Decade. Ultimately though, this did not extend to Kamen Rider Double, which proved his greatest weakness.

Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
Nobuhiko Tsukikage is portrayed by Ryuichi Oura (大浦 龍宇一, Ōura Ryūichi). As Shadow Moon, his suit actor was Jiro Okamoto (岡元 次郎, Okamoto Jirō).
Etymology[]
Nobuhiko shares the same name with Nobuhiko Akizuki, the original Shadow Moon from Kamen Rider Black, while his surname "Tsukikage" literally translates into "Moonlight", though when the kanji are translated separately, it becomes "Moon Shadow", a reference to Shadow Moon.
- The surname "Tsukikage" was previously used for the character Yukari Tsukikage, who appeared in the second episode of Kamen Rider Black.
Notes[]
- Unlike the original Nobuhiko, this Shadow Moon had no known relation to the alternate reality Kohtaro Minami.
- Thus, it can be inferred that Tsukikage attained his powers via Dai-Shocker's advanced technology, rather than being a chosen candidate by Gorgom. Evidently, he can revert into human form at will, an ability that the original lacked.
