Mitsuru Karahashi (唐橋 充, Karahashi Mitsuru) is a Japanese actor and author best known for his various roles throughout Tokusatsu. In Kamen Rider Series, he portrayed various roles, notably Naoya Kaido/Snake Orphnoch in Kamen Rider 555 and Hayato Fukamiya in Kamen Rider Saber.

Biography[]

Karahashi began his acting career with a theatre troupe affiliated with Waseda University, which he acted alongside writer Nobuhiro Mouri.

Other than acting, Kurahashi has also made a career out of writing and illustrating, which he had provided works for several Tokusatsu shows including Kamen Rider Kabuto, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, and Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger.

Personal Life[]

  • Karahashi was 26 years old when auditioned for Kamen Rider 555. Feeling discouraged as the other participants were younger than him, he considered giving up, thinking he wouldn't succeed. He also considered becoming an advertising artist on the show. However, the production staff reached out to him and invited him to a sushi restaurant in Ginza. After their meeting, it was officially decided that he would join the show.[1]
    • He also mentioned that the production staff initially suspected him of taking drugs because of his "strange behavior." However, they later realized that his performance during the interview was simply a reflection of his natural behavior.
  • Karahashi has been married to actress Miki Mizuno since 2016.
