Mio Suzuki (鈴木 深央, Suzuki Mio) was a meek and clumsy Fangire girl born in 1989, having inherited the powers and position of Queen for her race. Though attracted to Wataru Kurenai, her arranged marriage with Taiga causes all sorts of problems for each individuals, especially when Wataru's Fangire origins were revealed. To note, Mio's Fangire name was A Dress like an Isolation Cell (独房のようなドレス, Dokubō no yō na Doresu), with her official stratification being the Aqua class.
History[]
An 18 year old who suffered from issues with self-confidence, Mio hid herself within human society as a part-timer, coincidentally meeting Wataru and his friends at a meat grilling restaurant. Since then, growing attracted to Wataru for their shared quirks and lack of social skills, Mio decided to pursue a relationship with him.
Upon learning from Bishop of her position as the new Queen though, Mio was burdened by her newfound powers, recognizing that she was tasked with executing any Fangires who grew romantically attached to humans, something she felt hesitant in doing, partly from her affection for Wataru.
Once fully awakened as the Pearshell Fangire, Mio unknowingly became one of Wataru's greatest foes, clashing with each other on multiple occasions, neither aware of their secret identities.
When meeting with Taiga, Mio unwittingly caused Wataru to misunderstand the situation, the latter convinced that she and Taiga were in love. Initially, Mio attempted to solve the situation by ridding her powers as Queen, something which she learned to be impossible by Maya. Thus, deciding to proceed as her predecessor did, Mio eventually confessed to Wataru of her affection to him, much to Wataru and Taiga's shock.
Finding herself in a complicated love triangle, Mio soon learnt of Wataru's identity as Kamen Rider Kiva, with Wataru himself learning of Taiga and Mio's identities as Fangires. Though initially distraught at the fact, once she learns of Wataru's half-Fangire origins, Mio decides that Wataru can usurp Taiga as the king of Fangires, forsaking her hesitancy at executing Fangire "traitors".
But when Wataru declines her request, Mio attempts to kill Taiga herself, deceitfully accepting his propsal for marriage. In their personal wedding ceremony, Mio attempts to assassinate Taiga, stabbing him with a special knife, only to fail. However, in spite of this betrayal, Taiga still defended Mio from Bishop's wrath, something that causes Mio to feel remorse for her actions.
Soon afterwards, Wataru and Taiga fight each other in Rider forms, the former upset at Taiga's actions toward Mamoru Shima. Just when Wataru was about to defeat Taiga with a Rider Kick, Mio recieves the attack in Fangire form, falling off a cliff with serious injuries. Though not fatally wounded, Mio became too weak to move, allowing Bishop to execute her as retribution for her earlier actions.
On the verge of death, Mio gives Wataru the ring she recieved from him during their early dating, and he puts it on her finger. Seemingly satisfied, Mio's body turns into a stained glass-like substance, before shattering. Wataru, filled with grief and remorse, held onto a remaining piece of Mio's remains, the rest having scattered into thin air.
Later, sent into the past by Jiro, Wataru attempts to change history by negating his very existence, so as to prevent Mio's death. However, Yuri and Otoya ultimately disuade Wataru from doing so, pointing out that Mio would never want him to die. Appearing as a spirit from the shard Wataru kept, Mio confirms this to be true, encouraging Wataru to live his life. The shard then disappears into thin air, with Wataru overcoming his trauma.
Super Hero Taisen Z[]
A Pearlshell Fangire, which appeared identical to Mio's form, was one of the revived monsters in the Space Shocker army which fought a combined force of Kamen Riders, Super Sentai teams and Space Sheriffs as they approached the Genmu Castle. Just like her predecessor Maya, Mio can transform into the Pearlshell Fangire (パールシェルファンガイア, Pārusheru Fangire), being able to utilize most of the previous Queen's powers.
As the new Pearlshell Fangire, Mio can generate several pearls that act as an extension of her will in attacking her enemies. In her battles with Wataru as Kiva, Mio swiftly established herself as one of his most powerful foes, being far superior to the Rook and Bishop in overall capabilities. Not only were her attacks capable of wounding Wataru in Emperor Form, but Mio's Fangire form proved durable enough to withstand his Rider Kick on two separate occasions, albeit with noticeable injuries afterwards.
