Mind's Door
The Mind's Doors (心の扉, Kokoro no Tobira)[1] are a set of doors hidden within each person's subconsciousness.
Overview[]
A dreamer's subconscious mind takes the form of a room accessed via a door with two doorknobs. This door is found within the dream world at a location that is important to the person and related to the dreams they are having. By opening this door, a Nightmare is able to invade the person's dreams. When it does, the room becomes covered in chains and several Mind's Doors will spawn. The amount of the Mind's Doors created is vary for each person, although currently, the maximum amount is Three, as shown with Tetsuya Fujimi.
In addition to having two doorknobs like the initial door, each Mind's Door features two woman statues protruding through the top and bottom door panels. If a Nightmare is able to create the bad dream it desires, one of the Mind's Doors will open. Inside is a small, empty room displaying the end result of the bad dream on every surface. Once the Nightmare opens every Mind's Door over the course of several dreams, it will take over the dreamer's body to manifest in the real world. Before a Mind's Door has opened, Baku Yorozu is able to look through the keyhole to see the room inside. The projections on the walls, floor, and ceiling show the current dream scenario as it is happening, allowing Baku to locate the dreamer and Nightmare within the dream world.
