Michiru Inoue (井上 みちる, Inoue Michiru) was Shoma Inoue's mother.[1]
History[]
Michiru transformed into Human Press
At some point, Michiru was abducted by Granutes to their world. Bouche Stomach, the Stomach Family patriarch, took a liking to her and she later gave birth to their child, Shoma. During Shoma's childhood, Michiru told her son to not to eat their family's snacks. Whatever love she had for Bouche eroded away as she became a prisoner in his home, unable to go outside as the Granutes would have tried to harm her and their son. Bouche would also act coldly towards her, not wanting her to grow happy enough to be turned into spice by his children. Michiru then became increasingly depressed and sad as the years rolled by, but put on a brave face for her son and tried to smile, though she would sometimes burst into tears when he slept. She told Shoma stories about where she was from and the food she ate like potato chips. One day, Bouche tried to drag Shoma away from Michiru to be surgically augmented to “make him strong” and Michiru was struck by Bouche when she tried to grab her son and pulled him away. Bouche let go storming off, and she sobbed, promising Shoma that someday they would run away together to Earth and she would show him all the things she talked about.
When Bouche died, Michiru and Shoma were taken into custody at Lango's command, who declared the death of his father and had her transformed into a Human Press by an unknown Granute. Then, she was mercilessly killed by being processed into spices for Dark Snacks and her post-processed press was crushed by Glotta in front of Shoma, deeply traumatizing the young man.
