The Transformation Belt Meta Factor (変身ベルト メタファクター, Henshin Beruto Meta Fakutā) is Kamen Rider Gills' transformation belt.
Overview[]
The orb in the center of the belt is called the Philosopher's Stone (賢者の石, Kenja no Ishi) and it holds the Seed of Agito, the source of Gills' power[1]. The belt generates bio-energy to strengthens his armor[2][3]. Unlike Kamen Rider Agito's Altering, there are no left and right Dragon's Eyes, so Form Change are not possible[1][4].
When Gills evolves into Exceed Form, the belt turns red and the Philosopher's Stone turns yellow[5]. Unlike most transformation belts, the Meta Factor does not appear until after Gills has transformed.
User restriction[]
In Agito, it is revealed that Ryo Ashihara was able to become Gills through a blessing from the Overlord of Darkness. The Meta Factor will decrease Ryo's lifespan, and it only exists to keep Ryo alive as he had died before. After Ryo also received the Seed of Agito, the more powerful Meta Factor was able to allow Ryo to transform without suffering the side effects. It is possible that Ryo had more powerful regenerative abilities as he survived from the supposed deadly attack in a moment before the final battle.
In Decade, World of Agito, Shoichi Ashikawa has the evolved Meta Factor as the imperfect form of Altering.
