Hi again! Hope things are going well. Checking in to see how you're doing here, and I want to make sure that you catch these important Fandom updates.
The Unified Community Platform (UCP) is coming this year, which means that Fandom Wikis like this one will be getting some much-needed renovations (and new features!) as we move to an upgraded version of MediaWiki. Check out the Staff blog post UCP: The Vision, Purpose, and Process for information on the roll out plan, which will come out this year in stages.
The first stage will be starting very soon, with new wikis being created on the UCP. To stay up to date with these changes, you can keep an eye on the staff blogs on Community Central.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment on those blog posts or let me know!
What's your source for Is being the official spelling? We don't change names without an acceptable source. I also agree with OverlordBaron - grammatically, Is does not make sense per the above examples.

Is is は (wa). Presumably as in "Watashi wa" literally meaning "I is", which we'd say as "I am" in proper English.
From this, we can determine that likely the context of the usage matters - It might mean her name is Is, but not how we'd translate it. There are probably other similar words in the language.
Looking at the link OverlordBaron listed, I have to wonder - where was this taken from? English words above Japanese text suggests it to be subtitles, and subtitles are not an acceptable source. Where did this image come from?
For now, per Destiny Shin's link as well as the above, until we can determine the source of that image and the validity thereof, we'll stick with Izu . That in turn would also confuse the name of Wazu - and we'd need to source that as well, because Izu and Wazu would be a play on words.
I think the "Is" source was part of a set of items gifted to those who watched the Reiwa The First Generation movie in Japanese theaters. I have an alternate source image with the entire collection in this link below:
Interesting. This could be another case like the Dekaranger blurays where Doggie's name was spelled Kluger despite being shown as Kruger in the show itself. And also, like you said, grammatically it doesn't make sense. It could also be a misprint - the person might have heard "Izu" but thought they meant "Is" and wrote that. This would be consistent with the Premium Bandai link Destiny Shin shared above.
For now, I would say not to change it. Maybe list it as an alternate spelling, like it is now, for the time being - but use Izu officially.
Hey there. I noticed that the progrise key for Dynamiting Lion is the same color as Crushing Buffolo which it should be colored the same one on the Zero-One page[]. It would be wonderful if someone fixes this error. Thank You.
Admin, user Shootingwolf12 is adding random stuff, mainly on Izu page such as "she has crush on Aruto" and I reverted his edit, but he keeps undo my reverts. He recently sent a message on my wall why I reverted his edits and he started this shipping stuff and I closed down the thread afterwards. He is still adding that same thing after he sent me a message.
Hi again! Checking in to see how things are going. I'm also letting communities know about a couple more things. 2019 was a big year for Fandom, and you can check out the staff blog post This Year at Fandom - 2019.
You might have noticed that some wikis are showing new video content. The new video series, called The Loop, will have new videos weekly and will be replacing the old featured videos that were placed at the top of some wiki pages. Read more about it in the Community Central staff blog post An Update on the Future of Featured Video.
Hope you're doing well, and let me know if you have any questions!
