Yumi Yamamoto (山本 結巳, Yamamoto Yumi)[1], better known under her stage name Mei Angela (アンジェラ 芽衣, Anjera Mei) is a Japanese-Filipina actress and model who portrays Reika Shindai/Kamen Rider Sabela in Kamen Rider Saber.
Biography[]
Angela began her entertainment activities as a model under the stage name Yumi Angela (アンジェラ 結美, Anjera Yumi),[2] and became famous through her modeling of the virgin-killing sweater, later making her gravure debut. Through her friendship with (now retired) model Aya Kawasaki, Angela was signed into her current agency.
Personal life[]
- Angela is half Filipino through her mother. Her father is Japanese.
- Angela was a fan of Kamen Rider Den-O in elementary school. Her mother had watched Saber every week to support her daughter's role in the show.
- Angela is a fan of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger
, which had aired alongside Saber in 2021. She is a fan of the character Magine
as she was seen with Zenkai Magine's Sentai Gear and paper craft on her tweets.[3][4] This is acknowledged towards the end of Episode 20 of Zenkaiger, where Reika uncharacteristically hugs Magine.

- Though she isn't the first to portray one or be involved in the franchise, Angela is the first Filipina actress to have a major role as a Kamen Rider.
- Angela is one of many actresses from her agency who had starred in a Tokusatsu production during the 2020-2021 season, with the others being Naomi Majima, Nashiko Momotsuki Hikari Kuroki, and Toomi. This is recognized by their agency who featured the five actresses in publications together. Since Sabela and Durendal, they had been joined by other actresses from the agency including Yuki Odera and Mea Shimotsuki.
- She celebrated her 24th birthday while filming for Saber's thirty-fourth episode.[5]
