The Rousing Staff Leangle Rouzer (醒杖 レンゲルラウザー, Seijō Rengeru Rauzā) is Leangle’s primary armament, a khakkhara-styled extendable polearm with built-in Rouzer technology that enables Leangle to augment his capabilities with the powers of the sealed Undead for personal use. Unlike the Blay Rouzer and Garren Rouzer, it lacks a dedicated storage unit for Rouse Cards, requiring Leangle to have a separate card holder attached to his belt.
Design[]
The Leangle Rouzer consists of the following parts:
- Force Reminder Side (フォース・リマインダー・サイト, Fōsu Rimaindā Saido): The digital counter, which indicates the current Rouze (read) limit of the Leangle Rouzer in AP (Attack Points). It has an initial pool of 7900 AP, which is depleted each time Leangle uses a Rouze Card. If the AP cache is too low, Rouzing a card will have no effect.
- Clover Edge (クローバー・エッジ, Kurōbā Ejji): The round blades at the far end of the Rouzer. In Dagger Mode they are folded on top of each other, while in Zapper Mode they fan out in a clover shape. Each blade is capable of 2 million vibrations per second, easily cutting through any enemy. The three blades each have their own names: "Heaven, Earth and Man" (天・地・人, Ten Chi Jin).
- Slash Reader (スラッシュ・リーダー, Surasshu Rīdā): The card reader, located at the butt end of the staff. By scanning Rouze Cards, Leangle can access the unique abilities of the Undead.
Functionality[]
The Leangle Rouzer can switch between two modes, Dagger Mode (ダガーモード, Dagā Mōdo) and Zapper Mode (ザッパーモード, Zappā Mōdo).
- Dagger Mode: A more compact form, Leangle typically carries the Rouzer in this form and changes it to Zapper Mode for combat, though he does fight using Dagger Mode in episodes 17 and 22.
- Zapper Mode: The fully-extended form of the Rouzer, used as its primary combat form. It derives its name from the fact that it is a high-frequency vibroblade capable of 2 million vibrations per second.
Other Versions[]
S.I.C. Hero Saga depicts an Empowered Type (強化型, Kyōka-gata) version of the Rouzer to go along with Leangle Jack Form, with an extra Diamante Edge blade extending from the end with the Slash Reader.
Known Rouse Combos[]
- Cards Required: Bite Cobra (5♣) + Blizzard Polar (6♣)
Leangle's signature card combo, a flying scissor kick performed while unleashing a blast of extreme cold at the enemy. In Missing Ace, Leangle can also initiate this attack with only the Blizzard Rouze Card.
- Cards Required: Blizzard Polar (6♣) + Screw Mole (3♣)
Leangle performs a screw punch enhanced with freezing energy; alternately, he unleashes a blast of freezing "snowflakes" from his palm.
- Cards Required: Rush Rhinoceros (4♣) + Blizzard Polar (6♣) + Poison Scorpion (8♣)
Leangle leaps into the air and performs a diving thrust with the Leangle Rouzer while unleashing a blasts of extreme cold and a powerful poison.
Rush/Screw combo
- Cards Required: Rush Rhinoceros (4♣) + Screw Mole (3♣)
Leangle performs a charging thrust attack with the Leangle Rouzer. This combo was only attempted once and was unsuccessful.
Smog/Rush combo
- Cards Required: Smog Squid (9♣) + Rush Rhinoceros (4♣)
Leangle releases a smokescreen from the Leangle Rouzer to disorient his enemy, then performs a charging attack towards them. This combo was only attempted once and was unsuccessful.
Smog/Poison combo
- Cards Required: Smog Squid (9♣) + Poison Scorpion (8♣)
Leangle releases a blast of poisonous smoke from the Leangle Rouzer to weaken his enemy.
Spinning Dance
- Cards Required: Float Dragonfly (4♥) + Drill Shell (5♥) + Tornado Hawk (6♥)
Leangle levitates into the air and performs a wind-empowered drill kick. Normally Chalice's signature attack, it was once used by Leangle when he had stolen Chalice's deck. Used to defeat the Jellyfish Undead.
Ganbarider[]
The Leangle Rouzer is also among the various Rider Weapons used by Ganbarider in Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbarizing.
Notes[]
- The Hyper Battle Video Kamen Rider Blade: Blade vs. Blade shows Mutsuki Kamijo wielding the Leangle Rouzer without transforming; however, since this was used for the sake of comedy, it is likely not indicative of its actual abilities.
