- For the Manga version, see La·Balva·De (2015 manga).
La·Balva·De (ラ・バルバ・デ, Ra Baruba De) was the first La Group Gurongi to appear, assuming the guise of a "Rose Tattooed Woman" (バラのタトゥの女, Bara no Tatu no Onna) and labeled "Unidentified Lifeform B#1" (未確認生命体B群1号, Mikakunin Seimeitai Bīgun Ichigō) by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.[1]
She served as the judge for Xu and Me Group Gurongi, eventually bringing the Go into the game before making visits to Nagano. Her main job was to authorize any member of the Gurongi Tribe to start the Gegel. Later, she was accompanied by La·Doldo·Gu during the Go game. Her only known power was emitting rose petals that could induce hypnosis and dizziness.
Her manga incarnation could control humans using plant spores that embed in the brain, and takes a more central role as the main villain during the manga, as Daguva is seemingly absent.
History[]
Nothing much is known about her involvement in Riku's era. During the modern era, she acts as judge and strategist for the Gurongi tribe. She is one of the few seen speaking to Daguva on-screen without being killed by him, implying she is his lieutenant. The orders she gives usually comes from him, despite his absence, making her the de facto main antagonist of the series as Daguva is busy hunting for the rest of his power in the early arcs of the show.
Though glimpses of her true form were seen, she never assumed it before any human and was believed by Ichijo to be Unidentified Lifeform #0. However, when she realizes how far humans have changed after being wounded by Ichijo, Balva hints at the relation between Kuuga and Daguva before hospitalizing the detective, then warns the other Gurongi to no longer underestimate humans.
During Daguva's attack, she is confronted by Ichijo and remarks that humans have become just like the Gurongi before running off towards a pier, causing the detective to chase after her. He shoots her several times with Nerve-Breaking Bullets, mortally wounding her.
Before she dies, she tells him in the Gurongi language that she had grown a fondness for him and that she hopes she meets him again someday, then collapses lifelessly into the water.
