Kuroto Dan (檀 黎斗, Dan Kuroto) is the 30-year old second CEO of Genm Corp. He is also the true identity of Kamen Rider Genm (仮面ライダーゲンム, Kamen Raidā Genmu), also colloquially known as the Black Ex-Aid (黒いエグゼイド, Kuroi Eguzeido). He was also the host of the Level 30 Charlie Bugster.

In a plot to revive himself following his death, Dan temporarily transformed into Kamen Rider Blade (仮面ライダーブレイド, Kamen Raidā Bureido), having assumed the form of Kazuma Kenzaki.

He is then revived again as a Bugster, due to the help of Poppy equipping him with the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat and his prototype Gamer Driver, calling himself New Kuroto Dan (新檀 黎斗, Shin Dan Kuroto).

After helping co-develop the Doctor Mighty XX Gashat with Kiriya Kujo, and witnessing the power of the vaccine, he now refers himself as God Kuroto Dan (檀 黎斗 神, Dan Kuroto Shin).

After a fight in the rain against Kamen Rider Lazer, Kuroto is defeated and regains his sanity, now referring to himself again as just Kuroto Dan.

History

Past

As a Teenager

Kuroto Dan young

Young Kuroto first discovered Bugster Viruses on his laptop.

When he was 14 years old, Kuroto was a developer for his father's company, Genm Corp. Kuroto was extremely talented, due to the fact that many of his games were both bestsellers and masterpieces. During the Y2K problem, he discovered a computer virus, which would be later known as the Bugsters. One day, he received fan mail from Emu Hojo, suggesting ideas for a new game. Impressed, yet angered, Kuroto could not believe that someone else would be as talented as him. Thus, in revenge, he created a game known as Mighty Action C, and sent it to Emu. Emu would play it and be infected with the Bugster Virus, spawning Parado in the process.

Some time afterwards, Kuroto had unintentionally infected his mother with the Bugster Virus. Desperate to find a way to save her, he enacted Zero Day, and eventually came up with the idea and purpose of the ultimate game: Kamen Rider Chronicle.

Beginning of Zero Day

Kuroto had been observing Emu from the shadows for a decade, in order to observe the development of the Bugster virus within the latter. In 2010, after Emu won the Tekken tournament against Nico Saiba, he would soon be abducted by the Next Genome Institute, whom Kuroto had hired to remove the now-mature Bugster virus from Emu's body. Shortly after the operation, the matured Bugster (later became known as Parado) was separated from Emu, while the members of the Next Genome Institute vanished. Kuroto would later use the virus harvested from Emu as the basis to trigger Zero Day.

As CEO of Genm Corp.

Kuroto has been CEO of Genm Corp. for at least five years. He was present during the beginning of Zero Day, when the Bugsters emerged from the glitches in ten of the games his company was developing on his desktop. While collaborating with the Ministry of Health, Kuroto helped design the Proto Gashats and Gamer Driver as a countermeasure to the Bugsters, all while managing to keep his agenda for unleashing the first Zero Day hidden from the public eye, by framing his father for this.

During Zero Day, Kuroto assigned Taiga Hanaya, who was a radiologist from CR at the time, to become the first Gamer Rider, giving him the Proto Bang Bang Shooting Gashat and also Protosnipe's Gamer Driver. In reality, he was using Taiga as a test subject on finishing the Proto Gashat's finalized counterpart. However, upon Protosnipe's defeat to Graphite due to the Proto Gashat's side effects, Taiga left CR, and left his Gashat and Gamer Driver as well, while Hiiro Kagami becomes Kamen Rider Brave after the death of his girlfriend Saki Momose, who was Graphite's host. [BANG, That Jerk is Coming!] [Kamen Rider Snipe: Episode ZERO] During this time, many other casualties were also infected, including Heiji Uesugi's son, leading Heiji to investigate Zero Day for years.

Kiriya blackmail Kuroto

Kuroto is blackmailed by Kiriya.

Two years later, Kuroto was confronted by Kiriya Kujo, a coroner who had found out about Zero Day after his friend Jungo died in an accident before the virus in him manifested to the real world. Kiriya was given a Gamer Driver and the Bakusou Bike Gashat, in exchange for his silence. [An Operation Called Dash!]

Second Bugster Outbreak

"I'm terribly sorry for the long wait, everyone. It has taken over five years of development from the initial announcement. But at last, that legendary game, Mighty Action X, is complete!"

Five years after Zero Day, Genm Corp. had finally completed one of the ten games, Mighty Action X. At the press release, the Salty Bugster emerged from Sota Suyama. The Bugster was defeated by Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. [I'm a Kamen Rider!]

Following Ex-Aid's debut, Kuroto called Poppy Pipopapo and ordered her to record Emu's specs as Ex-Aid, using his specialized VR for later use. [Ex-Aid Chapter].

Genm first TV Attacking

Genm assaults Ex-Aid and Brave with the Gashacon Bugvisor.

Becoming Genm

Soon after the incident, Kuroto met with Kyotaro Hinata. Hinata thanked Kuroto for providing the Driver and Gashats. Kuroto responded humbly, before asking how the incident was covered up. Sometime later, Kuroto took up the mantle of Genm to interrupt Ex-Aid and Brave's fight against Aranbura. He attacked the two Riders, allowing the Bugster to escape. After the incident, he was approached by Taiga Hanaya, who had been Protosnipe during Zero Day. After receiving large piles of cash, Kuroto gave Taiga a new Driver, along with the Bang Bang Shooting Gashat. [Another Prodigy with No Thank You?]

Working with CR

Kuroto was confronted by Hiiro Kagami, soon after CR learned that Taiga was a Rider again. Kuroto acknowledged the incident that cost Taiga his medical license, but defended his decision, saying that Taiga was both compatible and capable. [BANG, That Jerk is Coming!]

Kuroto later visited CR, only to be intercepted by Taiga, who demanded that he give him a simulation by using the VR simulator. Kuroto had intended to record Emu's specs again, but Taiga had confiscated Emu's Gashat beforehand. Disappointed, he prepared to leave, only to be threatened by Taiga to expose the Proto Gashats responsible for the Zero Day incident to the public. Leaving him with no choice, Kuroto finally simulated Taiga as Snipe, but only once. After the simulation ends, Taiga asked him to give the data later and to relay his rematch acceptance challenge to Emu before he left, leaving the CEO speechless. [Snipe Chapter]

Kuroto came to CR later to apologize, claiming that he underestimated Taiga and didn't predict the latter would take Emu's Gashat. He assured Hiiro that there would be more Gashats ready within a few days. He interrupted Brave and Snipe's fight as Genm, depleting their Rider Gauges by a few units. After Ex-Aid and Lazer defeated the Motors Bugster, Genm finished the Bugster off to prevent Lazer from getting a sample to study. Using the Shakariki Sports Gashat, he became Sports Action Gamer Level 3, taking out Ex-Aid and Lazer with one hit. [An Operation Called Dash!]

Visiting CR again, Kuroto was met by Hiiro, who had been waiting for him in front of CR's lift. Hiiro demanded him to simulate him because he could not accept his defeat to Genm. As Hiiro asked what Gashat did Genm use, Kuroto revealed that Genm uses the Proto Mighty Action X Gashat, which basically had the same ability perimeters as Ex-Aid. Hearing this, Hiiro became flustered and demanded the CEO to simulate him right now. After thinking about it, he finally agreed to simulate Hiiro. At the Quest Gamer simulation, Kuroto changed the enemy to Genm and sets the difficulties to Easy (presumably to hinder him from leaking Genm's true power to Hiiro). After the simulation concluded, Kuroto decided to refuse recording Hiiro's data for his own good, before he left. [Brave Chapter]

Without speaking a word, Genm arrives, already transformed into Action Gamer Level 2, as Deep Specter and Necrom are fighting a group of Gamma Commandos and Superiors, during the final battle between Ghost and the Great Eyezer. Believing the Gamma to be a hindrance to his plans, he joins in the fighting and helps the two Ghost Riders, summoning the Sports Gamer with the Shakariki Sports Gashat, before performing a Critical Strike to clear away the Gamma, immediately riding away. Pursuing Ayumu

"What... they had the same form!?"
Onari on Genm and Ex-Aid[src]

For unknown reasons, he stands holding the Shakariki Sports Gashat, while looking upon the city during a lightning storm. Later, he triggers the Gashat and a purple Game Area expands from his body, but the Area and the Gashat are pulled into a Gamma Hole, resembling a Great Eye interface. When Ayumu steps out holding the Gashat, Genm attempts to take it back but is interrupted by Makoto and Alain, recognizing him from earlier. He fights Specter and Necrom using the Gashacon Bugvisor, disappearing when they counter with the Gan Gun Hand and Catcher.

The sketch Ayumu drew of Genm later leads Ghost to mistakenly attack the near-identical Ex-Aid, when the Rider tries saving Ayumu from a group of Bugster Viruses and retrieve the Shakiriki Sports Gashat, but a sudden attack by Genm shows Ghost his mistake. The attack knocked away the Gashat, which the dark Rider takes back, before fading into thin air. [Final Story (Special Edition): Future! Connected Thoughts!]

Genm's True Identity

"You're like a crystal. You show the patient's heart within you...gently showering it in radiance. However, you can't help caring for other people. Not all patients are good people. If you ever get an evil patient...who tramples on your feelings...then it's possible your crystal will lose its brilliance, smashed beyond recognition."
―Kuroto giving Emu a warning.[src]

Kuroto calls Poppy Pipopapo, and informs her that the newly-developed Level 3 Gashats have all stolen by a hooded man. The CEO also secretly informs Taiga and Kiriya, giving them the special stethoscope. As Genm, he is later seen on the location of Robots Collabos, already transformed as Action Gamer Level 2, before changing into Sports Action Gamer Level 3. Thanks to his interference, Robots Collabos is able to flee. He himself also successfully vanished.

Kuroto talks with Emu

Kuroto's first meeting with Emu.

Kuroto is later seen in CR and gives a proper welcome to Emu. He asks Emu if he knows who Genm really is, and Asuna claims that the thief is Genm. After witnessing Emu quarreling with Hiiro, Kuroto gives chase to Emu, who fled to a helipad. There, Kuroto tried to comfort Emu by saying that it's only natural for a doctor to desire to save a patient. However, he agreed with Hiiro, since the man is responsible for the stolen Gashat. He then compares Emu to a crystal, that once shattered by a malicious patient, it won't able to shine ever again. However, Emu still persisted with his idealism and left, stating that he'll regret the day he can't save a patient, much to the CEO's astonishment.

Deciding to teach Emu a lesson, Kuroto transformed into Genm Sports Action Gamer Level 3 and with Robots Collabos, they were able to beat Brave Quest Gamer Level 2 and Lazer Bike Gamer Level 1. The thief soon joins in, as Emu asked Genm why he attacked the doctors, but he states that he might refer to the thief. The thief later turns out to be Graphite, and this enrages Snipe as they collide with each other, though this ended in Snipe's defeat.

Genm soon provokes Emu that his idealism didn't work on a real battlefield, and in battle, it's survival for the fittest. Due to these words, Emu snapped and transformed into Ex-Aid Action Gamer Level 2. Ex-Aid successfully beat Robots Collabos using Mighty Critical Finish and claims the Gekitotsu Robots Gashat in the process. Ex-Aid then changed into Robot Action Gamer Level 3 and successfully beat Genm using Gekitotsu Critical Strike. Genm then retreats, while Ex-Aid roars in rage.

Game Master's talent

Kuroto's evil nature revealed.

"As if. What's truly terrifying...IS MY OWN TALENT!"
―Kuroto shows his unhinged nature to Graphite and Parado.[src]

As Genm staggers, he reverts to Action Gamer Level 2. Kuroto finally cancels his transformation and covers his face. As Graphite asked if he was afraid of Emu, the CEO then shows a psychotic smile, as he said that his genius is the one and only thing he feared. Parado then christened Kuroto as Kamen Rider Genm, as the latter showed an evil grin. [Everyone Gathers for a Clashing Crash!]

Genm in the Lazer Chapter of "Tricks": Virtual Operations

While Kiriya was recovering from his injuries late at night in the hospital, Kuroto forced him to use the VR and simulate him as the Bike Gamer while he was unconscious. He then ordered Kiriya to transform in order to collect his data and stated that the simulation was a game he created, which allowed no escape from him. However, Kiriya believed he was lying but had no choice but to listen to the former's commands. For unknown reasons, Kuroto controlled Kiriya's movements to transform into Bike Gamer Level 1 and Bike Gamer Level 2, all while threatening that he will let him pay the price of knowing his identity. After that, he took the Bakusou Bike Gashat out of Kiriya's Gamer Driver and inserted it into the Kimewaza Slot Holder, thus starting the finisher. However, during this time, he did not sit onto Lazer, causing Lazer to accelerate uncontrollably on his own and crashing into a wall, ending the simulation. Before he left, he threatened Kiriya to stay away from him, this threat caused him to tremble in fear. [Lazer Chapter]

Rider Chronicle: Phase 1

Kuroto witnessing

Kuroto, watching the Riders and Graphite.

As the Beat Collabos Bugster is fighting Ex-Aid and Brave, Graphite enters to try and defeat the Riders. Kuroto, who is watching from afar, chooses to transform into Genm for the first time onscreen and tells Graphite to retreat with the Bugster. Graphite begrudgingly does, after which the Rider himself proceeds to leave. [A Hollow Beating in the Heart!]

As Emu and Hiiro extract the Collabos Bugsters from Yoshio Okada, Genm intervenes and fights off both Emu and Hiiro as Sports Gamer Level 3, allowing the Bugsters to escape. When Hiiro later tries fighting the Chambara Collabos Bugster, Genm steps in again and fights Brave Quest Gamer Level 2, which gives Emu and Kiriya enough time to obtain the Giri Giri Chambara Gashat. Genm then fights Kiriya as the now Chambara Bike Gamer Level 3, after having his identity exposed. After some fighting, Kuroto is defeated by Lazer's Giri Giri Critical Finish, but Parado appears and creates a protective barrier to allow the dark Rider to escape and fool Emu and Hiiro by pretending to have been the "Black Ex-Aid". When Parado later returns to give Kuroto back his Gamer Driver and Proto Mighty Action X Gashat, the CEO concludes that no one will ever believe Kiriya now. [The Reason for Some Lies!]

While alone in his office, Kuroto decided to use the VR on himself late at night, starting the simulation by plugging his Proto Mighty Action X Gashat in the VR device. During the simulation, he was surprised to find out Graphite was there as well. Questioning Graphite as to him almost spoiling his identity as Genm, the proud Bugster replied that no one cared about that. This caused a vexed reaction in Kuroto, as he held up his Gamer Driver and Gashat, much to Graphite's confusion. The former then transforms into Kamen Rider Genm Action Gamer Level 1 to Level 2 before pulling out his Gashat, plugging it into his Kimewaza Slot Holder and pressing the switch, ready to activate his Critical Strike. Graphite asked him if he is serious about this, to which Kuroto replied that one thing: he definitely was. He pressed the switch again and activates his finisher, which defeated Graphite. As the simulation concluded, Kuroto returned to his office where he pulled the Gashat out of the VR headset. Laughing madly, the deranged CEO boasted that no one would interfere in his way, claiming that he would create the ultimate game, as he held the Proto Mighty Action X Gashat in front of the Mighty Action X poster. [Genm Chapter]

Dan telling Kiriya

Kuroto gives Kiriya a hint about Emu.

While sitting in his office, Parado warns Kuroto about the Proto Gashats: while they do have great potential, prolonged use will eventually damage his body. A moment later, Kuroto receives a call from Kiriya Kujo. The next day, Kuroto confronts Kiriya under a bridge, denying about knowing anything about Parado before the two proceed to fight as Genm Sports Action Gamer Level 3 and Lazer Chambara Bike Gamer Level 3 respectively. The two are evenly matched, and even after colliding with their respective Critical Finishers, do not revert to human form. When Kiriya questions why Kuroto helps the Bugsters, the CEO says that he does it to figure out why the Bugsters came into their world and developed the Gamer Drivers and Rider Gashats to help do so. Kuroto then brings up the fact that to use the Gamer Drivers, one had to undergo a compatibility surgery, and like Kiriya, he had done so to become a Kamen Rider. When Kiriya questioned why Kuroto is mentioning this now, the CEO proceeds to give a hint to Kiriya: one of the Kamen Riders has not received the compatibility surgery, someone Kiriya quickly identifies as Emu Hojo. [Men, Fly High!]

Back at his office, Kuroto confirmed to Parado that he allowed Graphite to take the Proto Drago Knight Hunter Z Gashat so that he would give the Kamen Riders their most challenging fight yet as he went on a rampage, causing Parado to enthusiastically tell the CEO that he scared him. Taking out the finalized Drago Knight Hunter Z Gashat itself, Kuroto, noting that acquiring its combat data would complete the first stage, set off to deliver it to CR. Passing Taiga, who had trespassed on his premises, Kuroto told him that he would unfortunately not be giving this tenth Gashat to him. Arriving at CR, the CEO presented to Emu and Hiiro Drago Knight Hunter Z, a unique (albeit incomplete) Level 5 Gashat, as the one and only key to defeating Graphite. The CEO revealed, however, that Drago Knight Hunter Z would need to be completed by defeating the Hunter Gamer, which Ex-Aid and Brave encountered as a Bugster Union within Kyotaro Hinata. Despite Kuroto's warning that, as a co-op 4 Player game, Drago Knight Hunter Z would need teamwork to avoid the danger of using it alone, Emu took the Gashat for himself, vowing to clear the game. [Beat Up the Dragon!]

Kuroto later watched with Parado from a distance as Emu initially failed to acquire the co-operation of his fellow Riders, assuring him that they would collect their data either way and that they could eventually replace the troublesome doctors with new candidates. Nevertheless, Emu ultimately achieved a collaboration resulting in the four Riders dividing and using the Hunter Gamer together to terminate Graphite, with the Proto Drago Knight Hunter Z being salvaged by Parado. With this, Kuroto was able to complete tests and data recording, allowing him to proceed to the ultimate game's next stage. [Uneven Doctors!]

Following the Dr. Pac-Man incident, Kuroto assembled a collection of specially created Heisei Legend Rider Gashats. Energizing the last three of the first sixteen with his Ganbarizing arcade machine, Kuroto requested that Emu return the Kaigan Ghost Gashat that he had used back to him, only to arrange him to be ambushed by a Collabos Bugster, which utilized the Proto Gashats recovered from the Next Genome Institute. Coming to Ex-Aid's "aid" with a briefcase holding the Legend Rider Gashats in hand, Kuroto provided him with the Full Throttle Drive Gashat, which allowed him to disarm the Bugster of Proto Gekitotsu Robots. The CEO was grazed by the Bugster when it changed to Proto Giri Giri Chambara, appropriately handing the Toukenden Gaim to Ex-Aid as Asuna took him to safety.

Easily managing to lose Asuna, Kuroto proceeded to enter the last phase of data collection on these Gashats himself as he transformed into Genm, this time using Magic The Wizard to assume Wizard Gamer Level 2. Appearing before Ex-Aid (who has just disabled the Bugster), Genm easily overwhelmed the Rider before forcing him out of his transformation with Wizard's Critical Strike. Reverting to his default Action Gamer Level 2, Genm recovered the three Rider Gashats that Ex-Aid had just used. Announcing that he had collected all the data he needed, Genm used the power of the Legend Rider Gashats to complete his Ganbarizing Gashat. Using the blank Collabos Bugster as a conduit to harness the power of Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbarizing, a game Emu was unfamiliar with, Genm brought forth manifestations of Kamen Riders Double, OOO and Fourze. Advancing on Emu, the three Riders were held off by the sudden appearance of Dr. Pac-Man, coming as a shock to both Emu and Genm as he presented his own three Bandai Namco Gashats. [Part. I: Legend Rider Stage]

While "Dr. Pac-Man" escaped with Emu, Genm and his Riders soon enough caught up with the pair as they were joined by Hiiro and Taiga. With "Dr. Pac-Man" taking his leave after providing the three doctors with his Gashats, allowing them to face Genm's Riders, Genm pursued this "Dr. Pac-Man", ultimately catching up with him before taking off his helmet, with Genm realizing his true identity as he was faced with a fourth Gashat: Taiko no Tatsujin. Genm's Identity Revelation

KUROTO is the Black KR

Kuroto finally drops the facade.

Dan and Parad with DZ

Parado bears witness to Kuroto's completed Dangerous Zombie Gashat.

After revealing himself to the other Riders, Kuroto revealed that there was a large amount of people infected with the Bugster virus, pointing out that no-one knows when a break-out might happen. He then challenges the other Riders to save those people with the ten Gashats, saying that it was up to them whether they will be saved or not before shooting at them with the Gashacon Bugvisor to make his escape. Upon escaping, Kuroto examined his new, (later personal) Gashat he created: Dangerous Zombie. [Who's the Black Kamen Rider?]

Killing Lazer

Dan confronts Kiriya

"I am...Kamen Rider Genm...Level 10."
―Genm's introduction when he first transformed into Zombie Gamer Level X.[src]
"I'll bury you and the truth in the darkness."
―Genm before killing Lazer[src]

Soon after this reveal, Kuroto learned that Kiriya had interrogated his father and was planning to inform the other Riders of his findings. The former found Kiriya, before the others arrived to confirm the latter's findings. Deciding that Kiriya knew too much, Kuroto tricked him into taking his Dangerous Zombie Gashat, pretending to offer it in exchange for Kiriya's silence. Once Lazer was weakened within inches of his life after trying to use the dark Gashat, Kuroto took the Gashat back and used it to become Genm Zombie Gamer Level 10. With the massive advantage, Genm stole the Giri Giri Chanbara Gashat and mortally wounded Lazer, seconds before CR and Snipe arrived. [Christmas Special: Targeting the Silver X mas!]

Fight Against the Double Action Gamer

Deciding that the "test players" were no longer needed, Kuroto moved to recover all the Gashats from the doctor Kamen Riders. As Zombie Gamer, Genm first confronted Ex-Aid and Brave was they were facing the Level 3 Aranbura Bugster. It was there that Genm first summoned the Gashacon Sparrow, with the sight of him using Kiriya's weapon enraging Ex-Aid into assuming Hunter Action Gamer Level 5 Full Dragon. Though struck by Ex-Aid's full power, engulfed in a massive explosion, Genm recovered in a cloud of purple smoke. As Ex-Aid realized that Genm's Rider Gauge was stuck at zero, the dark Rider announced he had surpassed death and all attacks are useless against him. Nevertheless, Ex-Aid kept on attacking Genm, ignoring Brave's fight with the Bugster. Triggering Critical Dead, sending forth a horde of shadowy zombie figures, Genm nearly eliminated Ex-Aid, but Brave tackled him out of the way just as the zombies exploded, with Hiiro undoing both of their transformations to remove the Game Area and escape.

At his hideout, Kuroto decided that he would only return to Genm Corp. after he completed Kamen Rider Chronicle, a game which soon people "would not be able to live without". He had also created a new blank, double Gashat for Parado's use, instructing him that it would need to be inserted into a Bugster to get the data to finish it, whereas humans using it would get a massive Bugster virus infection, dying instantly. Joining with Aranbura, Genm easily defeated both Snipe and Brave. Ready to kill the doctors, Genm was confronted by Emu who, to his surprise, was holding the blank double Gashat he had given to Parado. As expected, Emu used the Gashat which caused him to be overwhelmed by the Bugster virus. However, rather than succumbing to the Game Disease, Emu unexpectedly changed and transformed the blank Gashat into a new game, Mighty Brothers XX, much to Genm's shock and Parado's intrigue. First transforming into the Level 1-esqe Double Action Gamer Level X, this new Ex-Aid proved to be a match for Genm as he attacked him before advancing up to Level XX, which had the effect of splitting him into two separate Level 2-shaped Riders. [Defined Destiny] However, while Emu had become a force to be reckoned with, this split also caused him to seemingly become two distinct, conflicting individuals, with Genm using the distraction to escape with the Bugster. That night, Kuroto discussed Emu's survival and the use of the new Gashat with Parado. Branding it a bootleg, Kuroto vowed to erase the data of Emu's game while being forced to create another Gashat for Parado.

Confronting Ex-Aid, back as Action Gamer Level 2, Genm easily defeated Emu, asserting his place as the Game Master and demanding the new game be deleted. Emu, however, dismissed his talk of games as he was operating on a patient; transforming again into Ex-Aid Double Action Gamer Level X, then Level XX. Vowing for a perfect co-op this time, the two Ex-Aids fought Genm and Aranbura. Ultimately, the Double Action Gamer succeeded in destroying Aranbura, who was then salvaged by the Gashacon Bugvisor used by Genm, who told Ex-Aid that fate was out of his control before leaving. [We're Kamen Riders!]

Rider Chronicle: Phase 2

As Revol re-emerged as a Level 5 from Nico Saiba, Genm confronted Emu again, intent on deleting the data of Mighty Brothers XX as he assumed the Zombie Gamer. Evenly matched with Ex-Aid's divided Double Action Gamer, Genm cut the battle short and escaped with Revol. Kuroto was confronted by Taiga with the information that Kiriya had discovered and was silenced for: Emu had the Game Disease. Kuroto casually expounded: Emu was the first person ever to have the Bugster virus, being given it six years ago in an experiment by Dr. Michihiko Zaizen of the Next Genome Institute, intended to create a Bugster being. However, the virus had spread and killed everyone involved except Emu, and he was returned to his normal life without remembering the incident. Kuroto then clarified that he only killed Kiriya because his intention had been to use this information to destroy the Bugsters, before leaving. Back at his hideout, the former CEO determined (via recorded battle data) that each side of Ex-Aid's Level XX (20) form had the power of Level X (10). Deciding that taking down the Double Action Gamer personally was beneath him, Kuroto, having created a new Gashat for Parado, gave it to him so he would be occupied having fun, which he would do so by easily defeating all three doctor Riders in his first battle as Para-DX. [A New Challenger Appears!]

When Parado returned to his hideout, Kuroto chided him for not bringing Emu's Gashats with him, only for Parado to respond their deal: he was only helping Kuroto so he could play Kamen Rider Chronicle. Kuroto conceded and agreed to let Parado defeat Ex-Aid his own way. While Revol returned, Genm, as Zombie Gamer, confronts Ex-Aid and Brave, intending to take their Gashats himself. Initiating Critical Dead before the two Riders could Level Up, Genm knocked them both out of their transformations. Though he was able to recover the Taddle Quest and DoReMiFa Beat Gashats from Hiiro, Kuroto was unable to acquire any of Emu's, as he was repelled by a surge of the Game Disease from within the intern. Parado showed up to tell Genm to get back in line by not attacking Ex-Aid, before they both took their leave. Genm would later come back to take Snipe's Gashats while Parado fought Ex-Aid. Quickly shoving Nico aside when she attacked him with a mop, Genm successfully endured a Drago Knight Critical Strike from Snipe, recovering without a scratch. Much to Genm's surprise and anger, Para-DX, having been attacked by Revol, who had moved to protect Ex-Aid as the object of Nico's stress, destroyed the Bugster, who was promptly preserved by a frustrated Genm before taking his leave with Para-DX. [The Paradox of Defeating M]

A Line In The Sand

Dan All Gashats

Kuroto vows to create Kamen Rider Chronicle.

While using the data of Taddle Quest to create a new Gear Dual, Kuroto was informed by Parado of an anomalous Bugster who came from Ju Ju Burger, a game previously dropped from the Genm Corp.'s line-up which was developed by Tsukuru Koboshi in Kuroto's absence. Initiating a Stage Select, Kuroto would confront Emu and this Burgermon Bugster with Parado. While Para-DX recovered the Ju Ju Burger Gashat from the Riders, Kuroto assumed the Zombie Gamer and proceeded to terminate the Bugster, triggering Critical Dead against both Tsukuru and Burgermon. Stepping into save his creator, Burgermon ran into the attack to stop the zombie horde from progressing, taking the full force of the explosion and being destroyed, with Genm forgoing the preservation procedure reserved for his own Bugsters. In a rage, Emu raged at Genm as his eyes briefly glowed red before collapsing; Genm asked Emu if something within him was making him favor Bugsters before he and Para-DX took their leave. Back at his hideout, Kuroto, questioned by Parado as to his elimination of the anomalous Bugster being his only objective, cited his role as the "Game Master" and claimed Ju Ju Burger as his own, but not the Bugster within, stating that all Gashats would help create the world of Rider Chronicle. [A Nonstandard BURGSTER?]

The Truth Behind Ex-Aid

Dan is God

Kuroto showing his god complex.

"EMU HOJO!!! How are you able to transform into Ex-Aid...without undergoing the compatibility surgery? HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO CREATE GASHATS?! WHY DOES YOUR HEAD HURT AFTER TRANSFORMING?! There is only one answer. Emu Hojo! You are Patient Zero...the very first person in the world...TO BE INFECTED BY THE BUGSTER VIRUS!!!"
―Kuroto madly exposing the reason behind Emu's bizarre condition[src]

Kuroto's next move was to take Snipe's Gashats. Infecting Tsukuru with Motors, he easily lured out Emu and Taiga to fight. The battle was evenly matched until Genm triggered an outbreak, causing Ex-Aid to chase after the upgraded Motors. With the main threat gone, Genm defeated Snipe and took back the three Gashats, gloating to Taiga that it would be a child's play to create a new Gashat and beat Ex-Aid. Upon creating a new double-slotted Gashat (from the games he stole), Kuroto began to revel in his victory. However, Parado's insistence to beat Emu himself only caused Kuroto's psychosis to worsen, prompting him to do a narcissistic rant, in which he declared himself to be "God", claiming Gashats as something only he could create, and that Bugsters were nothing but pawns in his master plan.

Parad and Dan reacts

Kuroto relishes the sight of the Bugster virus consuming Emu.

When Ex-Aid came to stop Motors' rampage, Kuroto was ready and waiting to unveil his new creation: the Gashat Gear Dual β. Using the Fantasy Gamer from Taddle Fantasy's side, Kuroto took out Ex-Aid with one hit. Genm disposed of the now-useless Motors before demanding Emu's Gashats, threatening to kill him if he refused. Much to his shock, Genm was suddenly stopped by Para-DX, who had grown tired of the "Game Master's" arrogance and disregard for the Bugster species. Enraged by this defiance, Genm foolishly denounced Parado as a worthless game character, sending the latter into a fit of rage and earning the "Game Master" a brutal and humiliating defeat. In order to punish Parado for his insubordination, the insane CEO attempted to rob the former of his wish to fight Emu by revealing Emu's status as Patient Zero of the Bugster virus, laughing madly at the sight of Emu's subsequent outbreak. [The Truth Exposed]

Kuroto's victory was short-lived: rather than disappearing, Emu merely fainted, and the Bugster remained in his body. Retreating to his base and seething at the unexpected failure, Kuroto waited for the next outbreak before confronting Ex-Aid again. Despite the overwhelming advantage, Genm was stopped by Hiiro's unexpected interference, losing three Gashats, including the Gear Dual β. [A Sudden Fantasy!?]

Level X and Death

"You don't understand anything...Neither the reason why I obtained death data from myself...nor why I chose Dangerous Zombie for my power. While this Gashat is Level 10...it is also Level X. That means...it's an unknown number."
―Genm explains why he chose Dangerous Zombie in the first place and the true meaning of Level X to Parado.[src]
Dan said you don't understand

Kuroto holding his Dangerous Zombie Gashat.

Kuroto meets with Parado yet again after their fallout in his secret office, showing hostility. But Parado then leaves, excited to fight Brave Fantasy Gamer Level 50. Kuroto, later on, stage selects with Vernier, Emu, and Poppy in a deserted valley. Claiming Emu's fear of transforming no longer a threat, he transforms and decides to kill them both. However, Taiga suddenly appears, with the Gashat he "took" from Hiiro at the abandoned hospital. As Snipe Simulation Gamer Level 50 takes on the Bugster, Emu finds resolve in his responsibility for his patients and his body and uses the Mighty Brothers XX Gashat. Kuroto escapes yet again while absorbing the death data from Vernier, after being defeated. As a now very exhausted Kuroto hides back, he sees Parado, waiting there for him to finish Kamen Rider Chronicle. Instead, Kuroto dismisses that, and proceeds to tell him that the reason that he chose Dangerous Zombie as its power is not only Level 10, but also Level X, the undetermined variable. [Take Off Against the Direction of the Wind!]

As Genm, he watches over Brave and Ex-Aid fight the Kaiden Bugster and then proceeds to battle against Snipe Level 50. He leaves in defeat and warns the doctors not to be involved in things that don't concern them. In his office, Kuroto reveals that he needs one more piece of death data from a Bugster to access Level X. Kuroto confronts with Emu and Asuna, after their discussion with Masamune Dan, who had confessed on his son's involvement with the Bugster Virus 16 years ago. Kuroto maniacally laughs, saying that he couldn't be arrested just yet and said he blamed his father for it. When the two find out that Uesugi's Bugster is out again, Kuroto leaps before Emu and the two transform and engage. While Taiga focuses on Parado, and Hiiro on Kaiden, Emu is left to fight Genm alone. Hiiro manages to finish off the Bugster with the Drago Knight Hunter Z Gashat just as Genm is defeated.

Kuroto explains KRC

Kuroto reveals his future plan with an evil smile.

Suddenly, Kuroto manages to absorb the death data, which bewilders the Riders. Kuroto rants on how Kamen Riders and Bugsters are small parts to "the ultimate game". He reveals his future plans on Kamen Rider Chronicle, in which civilians are allowed to transform into Kamen Riders and fight monsters in the real world, and that they must fight for survival or perish. Emu is enraged when hearing this, due to Kuroto's twisted sense of what a game is and how so many people have died, like Kiriya, Saki, and Uesugi's son because of him. Kuroto retorts Emu's efforts to stop him, now that he has acquired both immortality and the power of Level X and transforms, unleashing a massive shockwave. Emu uses his Mighty Brothers XX Gashat and the Gashacon Key Slasher to finish off Genm again, but the latter disappears. [Chasing the Mystery!]

"Since 16 years ago...you've been so transparent and pure! The brilliance radiated by that crystal...electrified my talents! You're the best guinea pig! Your entire life...HAS BEEN MANIPULATED BY MY HANDS!"
―Kuroto reveals that he had been using Emu all along.[src]

"I'll show you the power of Genm X!"
―Kuroto unlocking the full potential of Level X.[src]

Kuroto was seen in his hidden office and checking that only 3 Bugsters (DoReMiFa Beat, Shakariki Sports and Drago Knight Hunter Z) left to complete Kamen Rider Chronicle. However, the Ministry of Health had already known about Kuroto's hideout and sends a team of officials to arrest him and put a stop to his plans. However, when the leader of the group attempts to catch him, Kuroto shows signs of Game Disease and transforms into the Charlie Bugster, before rampaging. Charlie is then temporarily stopped by Emu using Mighty Brothers XX along with the Sports Gamer. As Kuroto is about to be dragged away, Emu decides to cure his Game Disease, with Hiiro backing him for safety purposes. Both doctors agreeing that not only would it be dangerous to the Ministry and civilians alike if the Bugster broke out again, but also because Kuroto needed to be alive to pay for his crimes. Kuroto cries and thanks Emu before he's dragged to CR.

Kuroto infected himself

Kuroto infects himself with the virus.

At CR, Kuroto explained about Zero Day and how he was the one who infected Emu 16 years ago. Out of pity, Emu decides to excise Charlie from Kuroto, if he is to pay for his previous crimes. Emu then finishes Charlie off using Mighty Brothers XX, but Kuroto absorbs Charlie's debris using the Gashacon Bugvisor. Kuroto then tells Emu that he actually tricked Emu to cure him and that he infected himself with the Bugster Virus not only to escape from the ministry but also to acquire the Bugster data needed to complete Kamen Rider Chronicle.

Kuroto then transforms into Genm Zombie Gamer Level X and quickly defeats Emu using his refined Critical Dead, corrupting Emu's Gamer Driver in the process. Kuroto boasts about him shattering Emu's 'crystal' by himself and that Emu can no longer transform, before letting him live for his 'cooperation'.

Kuroto's first death.

"I'm God! My dreams are...IMMORTAL!!!"
―Kuroto's last words before his death.[src]

Kuroto plans to infect every civilian with the Bugster Virus of DoReMiFa Beat and Drago Knight Hunter Z in order to complete Kamen Rider Chronicle. All hope seemed to be lost for Brave and Snipe, until Emu creates the Maximum Mighty X Gashat and transforms into Ex-Aid Maximum Gamer Level 99. With Ex-Aid's new power from his level upgrade, the three Riders finally managed to defeat Genm Level X once and for all. Ex-Aid used the Maximum Gamer's reprogramming ability to delete the Bugster Virus antibody sample in Kuroto's DNA, causing him to be unable to transform into Genm. Emu attempts to take him to custody instead of killing him, as he followed his moral value of being a doctor first before being a Rider.

Parado then appears and seems to help Kuroto, but quickly strikes him down to the ground and steals his Gashacon Bugvisor. He used it to infect Kuroto with the Dangerous Zombie Gashat, which is filled with both lethal amounts of the Bugster Virus and countless data of his own death. Kuroto struggles with immeasurable pain and starts to disintegrate, screaming in pain as Parado taunts him by saying that Rider Chronicle now belongs to him. After Parado leaves, Kuroto bellowed that he's a god and that his ambitions will go on forever, screaming madly as he disintegrates into thin air. With this, he is the second rider to experience 'Game Over' after Kiriya.[To The Max, Dead or Alive!]

Team Genm

A data version of the Zombie Gamer Kamen Rider Genm would fight in the Game World's Chou Super Hero Taisen, leading his own team of Kamen Riders and Sentai RangersIcon-crosswiki to compete for the title of Kamen Sentai Gorider. Ultimately, this Genm fell just short of achieving the form of Aka-Rider as he was defeated in the final round by a team led by Emu Hojo, bested by Ex-Aid Robot Action Gamer Level 3. As a backup contingency plan, Kuroto created an unbeatable game that would malfunction and take over the world with constantly reviving Bugsters. In the actual game itself, he took the guise of Kazuma Kenzaki, masquerading as an ally amongst other dead Riders such as Kiriya. This impossible game was designed to feed on the despair of the dead Riders after giving them hope so it could revive him in the real world. However his plan was stopped by the real Kazuma Kenzaki and Emu Hojo, who both entered the Game World. He ultimately dies when all of the Dead Riders sacrifice themselves to allow Emu and Kazuma to exit out of the Game World. [Kamen Sentai Gorider]

The Hidden Level 0 and Return

"Yes! I did it! I did it! I really am...IMMORTAL!!!"
―Kuroto Dan's quote during his revival.[src]

"You seem to be having lots of fun, Parado! How dare you leave the Game Master out of this!"
―Genm returns with a vengeance.[src]

"It's no use trying to take over Emu Hojo."
―Dan gloating to Parado that the latter is unable to possess Emu.[src]

Poppy was having visions from the memories from her host, and one of them was a young Kuroto telling the host that he was developing a way to prevent Bugster infection. Remembering where the visions took place, Poppy went to investigate Kuroto's abandoned game studio. Suddenly, a vision of a young Kuroto was passing by, and Poppy follows the vision, leading her into a hidden room.

There was a treasure chest in the room, containing an old Gamer Driver and the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat. There's also a manual right next to it.

Level 0's coming!

Genm returns.

Poppy later brings what she found back to CR, telling the others that Level 0 has the unique ability to nullify a Bugster's powers. Believing that this is the way to save Emu, she activates the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat and enters the game itself via its title screen. In the game, she finds a Bugster Virus grunt, which turns out to contain data on Kuroto himself. Poppy later attaches the Gamer Driver on the grunt and inserts the Gashat, restoring Kuroto completely, albeit as a Bugster. Due to this, Kuroto declared he was truly immortal, while madly laughing gleefully. Kuroto then transforms into Genm Level 0 and heads to the Next Genome Institute operation theater where Parado is about to finish off Emu. Surprising everyone with his presence, Genm proceeds to attack Parado. Parado then attempts to possess Emu but fails due to Level 0's Bugster-nullifying effect.

Dan holding Origin Gashat

Kuroto presents his Level 0 Gashat at CR.

Back at CR, as Poppy explains how she brought Kuroto back, Kuroto attempts to threaten the doctor Riders once more, though he is hindered by Poppy absorbing him into the Bugvisor II as punishment, due to his status as a Bugster. [Strongest VS Strongest!]

True Purpose of Zero Day and Rider Chronicle

It is then revealed that Kuroto's true intention of starting the Bugster outbreak and creating Kamen Rider Chronicle was to apply the game-like structure of the Bugsters, specifically their ability for revival to humans. Like the defeated Bugsters, those that had vanished due to the infection will be stored as 'data' and later be given a chance for a 'Continue.' To realize this, he created Kamen Rider Chronicle, a battle for existence between humans and Bugsters, which will serve as a catalyst, if the human side wins, to revive those that had vanished, or more specifically, his mother.

Creating Hyper Muteki

"It's truly terrifying...my godly talents! With my godly talents...NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!"
―Kuroto Dan's proclamation about his talents when he successfully creates the Hyper Muteki Gashat.[src]

""Hyper Muteki" is a game where the main character has unparalleled strength, and is impervious to all kinds of attacks!"
―Genm Muteki Gamer's description about Hyper Muteki[src]

Realizing that should Parado be terminated, Emu's ability to transform would be disabled and the only candidate to defeat Cronus would be lost, Kuroto joined forces with Kiriya and stepped in to defend him from elimination. Losing yet another life, Genm was forced to fight his father alone as Kiriya left to Seito Hospital in light of the revelation that Hiiro was being coerced to intentionally fail to save Taiga's life. Kuroto would lose a further 23 lives, reducing his count to 70, before Emu confronted Cronus. [Period with Tears]

Irate to find that Emu had terminated Parado and sacrificed his ability to transform, Kuroto ordered him to hand over Hyper Muteki, as it was useless to him now. Facing Cronus with Brave, Snipe and Lazer Turbo, Genm and Brave rotated Muteki Mode together to overcome Cronus' Pause only for him to elude the Riders. Seeing that Hyper Muteki was in danger of being seized by Cronus, Kuroto retreated with the Gashat. Relived to learn that Emu had actually preserved Parado at the last moment, Kuroto witnessed the defeat of Cronus at the hands of Ex-Aid and Para-DX, resulting in the destruction of the Rider Chronicle Master Gashat (much to Kuroto's dismay). However, it was at this moment that Masamune used the Bugvisor II's Reset feature to revert Kamen Rider Chronicle to its base settings, resulting in the Master Gashat being restored while Hyper Muteki had shockingly vanished. [Destiny Reboot!]

However, Kuroto is not without a backup plan, as he died multiple times due to working all night long until the next morning, with his Continue count down to 82, and recreated the Hyper Muteki Gashat while also creating Save Energy Items, updating the game to when Gamedeus was first summoned.[Reset Game!]

The Gamedeus Vaccine

While Emu and Parado were trying to defeat Gamedeus, Kuroto was forced to help Kiriya create a vaccine for the Gamedeus virus. Since Kuroto had 82 lives left, Kiriya used him as a test dummy to make sure that he was able to create an antibody to the virus. The two of them fought against each other as Kuroto and Kiriya were constantly injected with the Gamedeus virus in an attempt to absorb the immunity data into a blank Dual Gashat. After Kuroto was brought down to 3 lives, he was able to develop an immunity to the virus and cured Kiriya before he was killed by the virus himself. Using this data, Kuroto developed the Doctor Mighty XX Gashat, which was later used by Emu to cure the people of Gamedeus's virus. In spite of this achievement, however, Kuroto was absorbed into Poppy's Bugvisor Zwei by Kiriya and was handed over to the Ministry of Health. Because of his role in the vaccine's creation, however, Kuroto's sentence was lessened and he sentenced to house arrest inside the DoReMiFa Beat cabinet (which was converted into a prison cell) in CR's headquarters. Kuroto then requested to be called "God Dan Kuroto," much to the rest of CR's dismay.

The End of Chronicle

"Emu Hojo! How are you able to transform into Ex-Aid with Parado erased? There is only one answer. You are...once again infected...by Paradooo!!!-"
―Kuroto exposing the reason behind Emu's transformation without Parado, before being absorbed into the Gashacon Bugvisor II yet again.[src]

Faced with a horde of Bugster Virus civilians, Genm fought them (with little consideration to their well being), but was fortunately intercepted by a strange, new Kamen Rider who, mistaking him for Ex-Aid, intended to collect a sample of his essence. Initially facing the RabbitTank Best Match, another of Genm's lives was inadvertently taken as the Level 0 Action Gamer was outmatched by GorillaMond. The new Rider, who introduced himself as Build, quickly realized that Kuroto was not Ex-Aid and promptly apologized before leaving.

Soon after, Kuroto found that Poppy had sacrificed her own existence to cure Super Gamedeus's horde through Doctor Mighty XX. In her last words to him, Poppy told Kuroto not to cause trouble and to make fun games. Distraught, Kuroto asserted that she could not disappear without his permission, but her image appeared and silently comforted him before fading, the last sparkle disappearing in his hand as a rainbow appeared overhead. Confronting his father as Zombie Action Gamer, Kuroto fought with Ex-Aid and the other Riders against Super Gamedeus but was unable to affect the behemoth until Emu remembered Asuna's advice and rallied his fellow Riders in reverting to Level 1, allowing them to separate Masamune from Super Gamedeus, which was neutralized by Doctor Mighty XX through the sacrifice of Parado. Masamune, however, still held the power of Cronus and, with the access to Emu's Muteki Gamer gone, declared that the doctor Riders would face a "Bad End." [The Last Smile]

Assuming Zombie Action Gamer Level X-0, Kuroto engaged his father in one final stand with the other Riders only to be swiftly overwhelmed to the point of losing another life, reduced to only two left. Initiating Pause, Cronus, seemingly victorious, was shockingly beaten back by Ex-Aid, who revealed that Parado's sacrifice had weakened him. After a delayed revival, Kuroto, switching to Level 0, joined the Riders in their Level 2 Gamers to finally defeat Cronus, however, they were unable to stop Masamune from destroying the Rider Chronicle Master Gashat with himself in a final act of spite, robbing them of their chance to retrieve the Game Disease victims from the Proto Gashats. Back at CR, Kuroto returned to captivity where he listened to Emu's speech on behalf of the Ministry of Health, in which Kuroto himself was listed among those who succumbed to the Game Disease following Zero Day along with his mother and father.

Refusing to accept his loss, Kuroto got to work immediately and soon enough, successfully restored Poppy, from a sample of her virus that he had absorbed into his hand. As well as that, he revealed to Emu that the fact that he could transform after Parado disappeared meant that he too had reinfected Emu from a fragment absorbed into Emu's hand, at which point Parado returned from within Emu while Kuroto was absorbed the Bugvisor II for talking too much. Later, inspired by his earlier encounter, Kuroto created a new game called Kamen Rider Build, the Gashat for which he presented to Emu. [Endless Game]

File:Kamenrider009060.jpg

Kuroto challenges Emu and Parado with Nazo Toki Labyrinth.

From his prison, Kuroto provoked Emu and Parado into playing a new mystery game he had created; Nazo Toki Labyrinth, where they were to solve riddles and mysteries in a mansion to rescue Poppy Pipopapo. Notably, Emu's made him realize that former Genm Corp. CEO Ren Amagasaki, and indeed the majority of Bugsters, were the sons of Kuroto Dan. Ultimately, Emu and Parado's bond brought forth the Knock Out Fighter 2 Gashat, which allowed them both to assume Double Fighter Gamer Level 39 and defeat the new Hatena Bugster. Upon exiting the game, however, the two found Poppy safe and sound, ignorant of her supposed predicament. Coming to believe that Kuroto was testing their bonds, the three wished to thank the Game Master for creating a game that actually brought smiles to those playing it, only to discover, much to their surprise, that Kuroto had escaped his confinement in the tablet, having used the game as a distraction. Another Ending

Kuroto Dan later returns as the main antagonist throughout the entire Another Ending trilogy. In Brave & Snipe, Kuroto went missing, which wondered Emu, Hiiro and Poppy. In reality, Kuroto has revived Lovelica Bugster/Ren Amagasaki and Saki Momose in order to battle Hiiro and Taiga. After Lovelica's defeat and Saki's second death, Taiga is unable to find Cronus' Master Gashat and Bugvisor II, in which unknown to Taiga that they're stolen by Kuroto. In Para-DX with Poppy, Kuroto works alongside with Saiko Yaotome, Michihiko Zaizen's daughter, not only to revive Kuroto's father Masamune but also to extract Black Parado out of his body. Kuroto also imprisoned Masamune into an unknown location as well as he and Saiko took Poppy hostage in order to add troubles to Parado. After Para-DX defeats his evil doppelganger, Kuroto uses his Bugvisor II to extract Another Parado and later betrays Saiko as he no longer uses her, which leaves her to despair. Somewhere at the top of the falls, Kuroto, barely naked, creates his own ultimate Gashat, God Maximum Mighty X, as he crazily declares himself to be a "god of all gods". In Genm vs. Lazer, he created his own game Zombie Chronicle to summon Genms in their Zombie Gamer Level X forms as well as providing his own NPC to instruct everyone about his ultimate game: defeating every Genm Zombie Gamer to revive their loved one as a Bugster. Kiriya swears to defeat Kuroto. Kuroto shows Kiriya his God Maximum Mighty X as he transformed into his Level 1,000,000,000 form. He defeats Kiriya at first, however, Masamune, who later survived from his imprisonment by defeating a Genm Zombie Gamer, shows up and transforms into Cronus. Cronus seemingly freezes Genm, but was eventually brutally defeated by his own son. In Masamune's dying breath, he gives Kiriya his Bugvisor II. Kuroto and Kiriya battled for the last time. His God Maximum Mighty X was finally negated, due to Masamune imbuing the Buggle Driver II with the Reset ability. Kuroto is finally defeated by Kiriya as well as the Zombie Chronicle is negated (restoring the infected Zombie Bugsters back to normal), thus his sanity went back to normal as he simply called himself Kuroto Dan as he vanishes. Kiriya, later restored into human thanks to God Maximum Mighty X Gashat by Saiko, pays his respects to Kuroto and sees the vision of Kuroto and he tells him that his games never end. ―Kuroto's proclamation after his failure on Zombie Chronicle, before dying for good[src]

When he was young, Kuroto was a good-hearted individual who had a genuine passion for developing games. However, he would gradually develop a superiority complex, believing no one could be as talented as him. He had a loving relationship with his mother, and it was her death that would ultimately send him spiraling down into insanity during his adulthood, as Kiriya later revealed that he did not put his trust in the medical world in saving his mother, and believed that only he could accomplish it with his own talents.

During his initial tenure as CEO of Genm Corp, Kuroto appeared to be a polite and humble man, both with a sense of sympathy and compassion. Despite this, some of his decisions were of questionable morality.

Behind closed doors, Kuroto is shown to be psychotic, worsened by over usage of his Proto Gashats. He slowly becomes more and more deranged over time, eventually indulging himself with a God complex, believing that survival of the fittest is the only thing that matters in battle.

He remains prideful in regarding his skill as being the best, taking pride in the creation of Gashats as something that only he can make. When Emu and Tsukuru created the Mighty Brothers XX and Ju Ju Burger Gashats respectively, Kuroto lashes out, by attempting to retrieve it to destroy them, displaying this form of behavior to the most extreme when Emu attempted to use the Maximum Mighty X Gashat in its incomplete form, even going as far as calling both Mighty Brothers XX and Maximum Mighty X "bootleg games". Despite this, he uses the data he collected from fighting Emu, who used this Gashat to complete the Gashat Gear Dual for Parado, and the Gashat Gear Dual β, which is currently in the hands of Hiiro Kagami and Taiga Hanaya.

His malignant narcissism is also taken to the extreme when he attempts to kill a patient to obtain data on death needed to complete a Gashat he was developing, before using data on his own death to complete it. Despite his instability, Kuroto appears to have some form of self-control after constant usage of the Dangerous Zombie Gashat. However, his obsession with immortality through his personal Gashat made him even more unhinged.

Kuroto also views those who are no longer in the scope of his plans to be disposable as he murders Kiriya Kujo and Motors once he saw that they were no longer useful in his plans. This has seemingly led to Parado severing ties with Kuroto as the death of Motors was not from playing the game, but from Kuroto indulging in his god complex as the "Game Master" and thus being used as bait.

Kuroto Gorider

Even after death, Kuroto retains his psychotic personality.

His delusions would become his fatal flaw, as Parado takes advantage of this when he murders Kuroto after his defeat by Emu and claimed Kamen Rider Chronicle for his own purpose. The same fatal flaw is also present in Kamen Sentai Gorider, and not only he rubs it in to the deceased Riders his desire to resurrect himself, but he also inadvertently attracted the attention of the real Kenzaki, not knowing that the presence of a Joker Undead can destroy his game world. Ever since he is properly revived, Kuroto becomes fully aware that his excessive pride of his own talents is proven to be his greatest weakness, as shown when he is creating (and later attempting to use) the Hyper Muteki Gashat.

After his resurrection, Kuroto's insanity is still intact, but with a vindictive streak; now hellbent in making Parado pay for his treachery. The only person he holds dearly to ensure he never loses his humanity is his mother Sakurako Dan, who was the host of Asuna Karino/Poppy Pipopapo. As a result, Kuroto regains traces of his sanity, but continues to boast himself as "New" Kuroto Dan, along with his "godly" talent. His love towards his mother would eventually result in him developing a familial relationship with Poppy as well, to the point that Poppy's eventual sacrifice to save everyone from Gamedeus' infection saddened him to tears.

In spite of his apparent viciousness and insanity, as well as others' perceptions of him, Kuroto's actions did have purpose, as the goal of Kamen Rider Chronicle was to bring back every human who succumbed to the Bugster Virus by defeating all of the Bugsters, especially his own mother, whom he infected by accident. Through this, Kuroto, while antagonistic, had good intentions, albeit descending into insanity due to the prolonged effects of the Proto Gashats. After his father, Masamune emerged as Kamen Rider Cronus, Kuroto realizes that his actions was part of his father's ploy to claim the Kamen Rider Chronicle Gashat. Kuroto himself is visibly horrified at his father murdering Lovelica, and would also develop a hatred towards his father, who took the products that Kuroto himself created.

SHIN DAN KUROTO DA!!!

Kuroto's former psychotic personality has now devolved into pure foolishness.

Though his insanity was once regarded to be intimidating, after his revival, this devolves into nothing more than just making himself look foolish, with the Riders no longer taking his viciousness seriously. When his insanity is pushed to the extreme, Kuroto often ends up either laughing maniacally or screaming incoherently like a madman. On occasion, he would also resort to impulsive actions, like banging his head on a wall after learning his father had become Cronus, and pestering Emu by shaking his legs violently while in a rush to recreate Hyper Muteki.

However, all of this was later revealed to be an elaborate ruse, as Kuroto remained adamant on his plan to create the ultimate game, only helping CR defeat Masamune just so he could get rid of another obstacle in his plan. When his true schemes were uncovered, he clearly showed no remorse for deceiving the Riders, his god complex being pushed to the extreme upon the completion of the God Maximum Mighty X Gashat. However, behind all of this, the pain of losing his own mother still remained. After getting reassured by Kiriya Kujo that he could finally count on the advancements of the medical world, he departed upon losing his final life, seemingly at peace with himself, while still wondering if society would develop to be more accepting of his talents if he were to ever be reborn. This also showed that despite Kuroto's madness, he still kept his promise to help anyone who cleared his mad game unlike Masamune who continued to manipulate people for his own business accomplishment.

As New/God Kuroto Dan, Kuroto has his own catchphrase after transforming, which is an inverted version of Emu's. I'll clear this even if it means using continues! (コンティニューしてでもクリアする, Kontinyū shite demo kuria suru)

Powers and Abilities

As stated by him, Genm's parameters are originally the same as Ex-Aid's, so his overwhelming power didn't come from his equipment, but his own combat experience and ability. [Brave Chapter] This is shown when he easily defeated some of the Ex-Aid Riders, even veterans like Taiga Hanaya, many times. He's even on par with Kamen Riders Specter and Necrom, even while the former is in his strongest form.

  • Genius-Level Intellect: Kuroto has a formidable mind. He is responsible for the creation of all but six Gashats (Mighty Brothers XX, Ju Ju Burger, Maximum Mighty X, Toki Meki Crisis, a second copy of Bakusou Bike, and Taddle Legacy). He has shown an ability to quickly adjust to new situations and predict the actions of other riders almost perfectly, allowing him to almost completely mastermind both Bugster outbreaks.
  • Bicycle Proficiency: He is extremely skilled in bicycling, which allows him to effectively use his Sports Gamer bicycle as both a weapon and a transport to defeat a large group of Gamma Commandos and Superiors, as well as Brave and Snipe.
  • Close Combat Skills: He has proven himself to be a formidable combatant, as he easily overwhelmed Specter and Necrom at once when the former was in his strongest form.
  • Quick Retreat: Through unknown means, after he recovered his Shakariki Sports Gashat, he faded into thin air. This is also shown when he decided to save Aranbura and the Collabos Bugsters. He is also able to do so in his civilian form, escaping after he just revealed his true identity as Genm.
  • Acquired Game Illness Immunity: As a result of a secret compatibility surgery not unlike the standard one for CR candidates, Kuroto Dan is immune to the Game Illness, and able to transform into a Kamen Rider. This immunity is later negated due to Ex-Aid Level 99's reprogramming ability and when he revived as a Bugster, he installs his human DNA to use said Driver.
  • Immortality: When Kuroto stabbed the Gashacon Bugvisor into his emptied Rider Gauge, he gained the immortality ability of the Dangerous Zombie Gashat, causing his Rider Gauge to become frozen at zero and allowing him to recover without injury from almost any damage. This power was removed after Ex-Aid reprogrammed him, with his Rider Gauge returning to normal working condition.
  • Cloning: After gaining the true power of Level X, he is able to produce many data clones of himself, allowing him to be at many places at the same time. According to Kuroto, this power is based on a fictional zombie's ability to self-reproduce through their own cells.
  • Data Saving: Using the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat, Kuroto was able to create a "save data" version of himself, allowing himself to be revived again as a Bugster.
Level down

Kuroto degrading Para-DX's level from 99 to 75.

  • Bugster Ability Restriction: One of the functions of Level 0 Gashats. Kuroto can seal certain abilities of Bugsters who are in his game area, such as host possession.
    • Level Regression: Thanks to Level 0's power being over nothingness, by touching a Bugster, Kuroto can degrade their Levels to reduce their powers.
  • Data Mimicry: One of the abilities of a Bugster, he can travel through the cyberspace by transforming into computer data. This is exhibited when he began using Poppy's arcade room as his own living space, much to her dismay.
  • Teleportation: After being revived as a Bugster, Kuroto can teleport himself for simple travel or evade incoming assaults.
DAN Life Points

Kuroto's remaining life points.

  • Continue: Using the alpha version Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat, Kuroto will revive and "continue" his personal life after being killed once and twice, reappearing from a purple pipe labeled "Continue". The Gashat gives him 99 lives.

Weaknesses

  • Gashacon Bugvisors: Being revived as a Bugster recently, Kuroto can be absorbed and preserved in a Gashacon Bugvisor in any time. This has only shown accessible in human form. However, this has also proven to be an advantage of some sort, as Kuroto can enter Bugvisors at will as well, allowing him to bypass Cronus's time stopping Pause ability while inside the Buggle Driver II of Cronus.
  • Level 0: As stated by it's name, Level 0 is the most lowest level among all the levels, making Kuroto extremely vulnerable to any type of attacks, even the orthodox attacks can deal great damage on him. This disadvantage can be covered by utilizing advanced-level Gashats, as well as his Continue ability.
  • God Complex: Kuroto suffers from a massive god complex, viewing his work as being of godly quality, which is fueled by his technological prowess and has only worsened with time. This narcissism has proven to be Kuroto's undoing on multiple occasions, often clouding his reasoning and slowing his ability to adjust to unforseen situations, such as sending him into a blind rage upon discovering anyone other than him has created a new Gashat.
  • Lack of Awareness: Despite his genius-level intellect, Kuroto completely lacks self-awareness and a sense that the world does not revolve around him. Perhaps the greatest example of this is his becoming so engrossed in boasting about Hyper Muteki's invincibility and immunity to Cronus' time stop abilities that he ran down its time limit and subsequently lost the Gashat to Cronus.
Overworking Game Over

Just a little more...

  • Overworking: As shown in episode 41, Kuroto's fanatical obsession over his "genius" work makes him very vulnerable to Karōshi, or "overwork death". This obsession with finishing his games can lead to him losing huge chunks of his extra life stock.
  • Reset: Due to Kiriya having a Masamune's Buggle Driver II in order to transform into his Level X form, Kuroto is vunerable to the Reset ability while on his Level 1000000000 form, causing his God Maximum Gamer to be dissolved after clashing with their own Rider Kicks, as a result turning his own god-like powers back to normal.

This form is used to battle a Bugster-infected human and is the only way to extract the monster from the host. However, he rarely uses it in combat on screen, always taking a stronger form instead, as separating patients from their Bugster Unions isn't generally a priority of his (save for once).

This form's finisher is the Mighty Critical Strike (マイティクリティカルストライク, Maiti Kuritikaru Sutoraiku): Genm covers his right foot in purple energy before leaping into the air, and delivering a kick to the enemy.

In this form, the Sports Gamer bike combines with Genm, becoming part of his armor. He is equipped with the Trick Flywheels (トリックフライホイール, Torikku Furaihoīru) on his shoulders, which he can throw at enemies to great effect.

All of Genm's stats are raised, placing him above any Riders at Level 2. It was the first instance of Level 3 to be used by a Rider. Genm usually prefer to use this form as it more powerful in combat. However, Upon Ex-Aid gaining the Shakariki Sports Gashat, this form is lost.

In this form, Genm gain the following parts from Sports Gamer:

Action Gamer Level 0 (Proto Origin) (アクションゲーマーレベル0 (プロトオリジン), Akushon Gēmā Reberu Zero (Puroto Orijin)) is Genm's prototype fighter form, activated by inserting the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat and pulling the lever on the Gamer Driver.

In this form, Genm's stats are slightly lower than Ex-Aid Double Action Gamer Level X, making it slightly weaker than his original Zombie Gamer Level X (10) form.

Level 0's special ability is the neutralization of Bugster abilities. In addition to this form being able to nullify certain Bugster abilities such as host possession, Genm can also downgrade the level of a Bugster by touching them. This form also grants Kuroto with a total of 99 lives, such that he is able to provide himself with a Continue whenever he receives a Game Over, presumably until his life count runs out.

Empowered with the Hyper Muteki Gashat when inserted into the Gamer Driver's secondary slot, Genm temporarily activates a Muteki Mode (ムテキモード, Muteki Mōdo) which grants the Rider using it 10 seconds of invincibility. Genm using Muteki Mode in Level 0 is exclusive to Ganbarizing.

  • Multi Unbreaker (マルチアンブレイカー, Maruchi Anbureikā) - Kamen Rider Genm's shoulder armor. It injects a strengthening agent to raise the rider's defense for a short amount of time.
  • GM Growth Arm (GMグロウスアーム, GM Gurousu Āmu) - Kamen Rider Genm's arms. It has a function called Gain Riser (ゲインライザー, Gein Raizā) that increases combat capabilities based on the rider's level and combat experience. The arms allow for quick responses for complicated attacks.

Zombie Action Gamer Level X-0 (ゾンビアクションゲーマーレベルX-0, Zonbi Akushon Gēmā Reberu Ekkusu Zero) is Genm's final upgraded form, accessed by inserting the Dangerous Zombie Gashat into the Gamer Driver along with the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat and pulling the lever. Level 0's nullifying ability negates the Dangerous Zombie Gashat's side effects in the Gamer Driver and allows this form to be used.

In this form, despite having a similar appearance to the Buggle Driver version of Zombie Gamer, its stats are actually much higher, surpassing the previous form even in its Level X stats.

However, unlike the original Level X form, this form has a normal functioning Rider Gauge which does not grant Kuroto the power of immortality, presumably due to the reprogramming powers of Maximum Mighty X affecting the immortality of Dangerous Zombie.

Empowered with the Hyper Muteki Gashat when inserted into the Gamer Driver's secondary slot, Genm temporarily activates a Muteki Mode (ムテキモード, Muteki Mōdo) which grants the Rider using it 10 seconds of invincibility.

In Heisei Generations FINAL, Genm transforms into this form by using the Kamen Rider Build (Game) Gashat in place of the Mighty Action X Origin Gashat. The Kamen Rider Build Gashat has the ability to neutralize the Enigma's power, which was preventing the Ex-Aid Riders from transforming.

This form's finisher is the Dangerous Critical Strike (デンジャラスクリティカルストライク, Denjarasu Kuritikaru Sutoraiku):

Rider Statistics

  • Height: 256.0 cm
  • Weight: 256.0 kg

Ability Perimeters:[1]

  • Punching power: freely set
  • Kicking power: freely set
  • Maximum jump height: freely set
  • Maximum running speed: freely set

God Maximum Gamer Level Billion (ゴッドマキシマムゲーマーレベルビリオン, Goddo Makishimamu Gēmā Reberu Birion) is Genm's second final form accessed by inserting the God Maximum Mighty X Gashat into the Gamer Driver, pulling the lever (causing Genm to transform into Action Gamer if he hasn't already), and then pressing the button on top of the Gashat to combine with the God Maximum Gamer.

This form was created by Kuroto as a dark counterpart to Ex-Aid's Maximum Gamer Level 99, with vastly increased power. In this form, Genm is theoretically the strongest Rider, as he is able to freely set his ability perimeters. This allows him to have enough physical strength to move the moon and use it as a massive weapon.

Due to Genm infecting himself with a strain of Black Parado's virus, he gains abilities which parallel that of the original Genius Gamer, complementing Kuroto's own abilities as a genius game programmer. Thus, in addition to all the abilities of the original Maximum Gamer, Genm can create any game with his thoughts and use the game rules to attack his opponent:

  • Zombie Chronicle: Summons a horde of Zombie Gamers which attack and infect anyone on sight, turning them into a zombified Bugster Virus.
  • Cosmic Chronicle: Channels a giant lens in the sky, while using the refracted solar rays to burn his opponent. He can also summon a shower of meteorites at will.

Additionally, this form is immune to Cronus' Pause ability, previously something only Hyper Muteki could do. Genm can also produce an acidic breath which dissolves any form of enemy attack.

Genm is able to eject from the Maximum Gamer in the form of Action Gamer [2], retaining Level 1000000000 but gaining more agility. Meanwhile, the God Maximum Gamer enters some kind of autopilot state, but the extent of its independent combat capabilities is unknown.

This form was lost when it dissolved after being hit by Lazer/Lazer Level X's Critical Crews-Aid, which was imbued with Cronus' Reset ability.

In this form, Genm gains the following parts from God Maximum Gamer:

  • GM Head-GMAX BIL (GMヘッド-GMAX BIL, GM Heddo-GMAX BIL) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer Level Billion head.
    • Air Fresh Guard (エアフレッシュガード, Ea Furesshu Gādo) - An intake system within the helmet that filters out harmful substances in the air. It also regulates the suit's temperature and allow for underwater breathing. It also allows Genm to spray purple gas and dissolve projectiles fired by the enemy.
  • God Judgement Eye (ゴッドジャッジメントアイ, Goddo Jajjimento Ai) - Attack device on Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's chest. It embodies the ideas of Genm. It can also scan reprogrammed subjects and analyze the status of their genes.
  • God Breast Signal (ゴッドブレストシグナル, Goddo Buresuto Shigunaru) - Control device on Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's chest. It adjusts the output of the body so the performance is at maximum at all times. It also switches to auto pilot when Genm is ejected from the armor.
  • Mighty Almighty (マイティオールマイティ, Maiti Ōrumaiti) - Armor to protect Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's chest. The built-in stage editing device allows Genm to freely manipulate concepts in the game area such as physics and time.
  • Mighty Providence Suit (マイティプロビデンスーツ, Maiti Purobiden Sūtsu) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's enhanced powered armor. It increases the rider's physical capability by strenghtening the body. It is coated with a special coating created from the battle data to provide high defense against attacks from other Riders.
  • GM Immortal Guard (GMイモータルガード, GM Imōtaru Gādo) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's escape and defense unit. It is equipped with an emergency ejection device called "GM Bail Outer (GMベイルアウター, GM Beiru Autā) which allows Genm to eject from the armor at high speeds. It is also possible to close the protective shutter to transition into full protection mode.
  • GM Mythology Arm (GMマイソロジーアーム, GM Maisorojī Āmu) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's arms. There is no upper limit to its strength and it exerts fighting ability based on the value set by the rider. It can also hit distant enemies with celestial bodies using a telescopic mechanism.
  • Meteor Fight Knuckle (メテオファイトナックル, Meteo Faito Nakkuru) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's hands. It can hit enemies into outer space within the game area with punches that has the same strength as a meteor impact. It also executes reprogramming when executing punches and rewrites a Bugster's abilities.
  • GM Mythology Leg (GMマイソロジーレッグ, GM Maisorojī Reggu) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's legs. here is no upper limit to its strength and it exerts fighting ability based on the value set by the rider. It can also attack distant enemies using a telescopic mechanism.
  • Rebuild Fight Boots (リビルドファイトブーツ, Ribirudo Faito Būtsu) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's boots. A power thruster is built in, allowing Ex-Aid to perform high-speed movements and continuous air dashes. It also executes reprogramming when executing kicks and rewrites a Bugster's abilities.
  • Divine Mech Guard (ディバインメックガード, Dibain Mekku Gādo) - Kamen Rider Genm God Maximum Gamer's grey Guard pieces. The heat resistance rises when exposed to heat, and it becomes more durable by changing the structure of parts according to the damage received.

The form's finisher is God Maximum Critical Blessing: Genm powers energy to his right foot, jumps and extends his foot, covered in black and purple energy, and performs a powerful flying kick.

This form is exclusive to Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Trilogy: Another Ending Part III: Kamen Rider Genm vs. Lazer.

These Forms are exclusive to Kamen Rider Battle: Ganbarizing.

Zombie Gamer Level X
KREA-Genmlx

Zombie Gamer Level X

"Buggle Up! Danger! Danger! (Genocide!) Death the Crisis! Dangerous Zombie! (Zombie Screech)"
―Transformation Announcement[src]

Rider Statistics

  • Height: 205.0cm
  • Weight: 115.5kg

Ability Perimeters (Level 10 → Level X):

  • Punching power: 24.1 t. → 66.6 t.
  • Kicking power: 30.2 t. → 73 t.
  • Maximum jump height: 52 m. → 63.2 m. (one leap)
  • Maximum running speed: 100 m. per 2.5 sec. → 1.8 sec.

Zombie Gamer Level X (ゾンビゲーマーレベルX[テン], Zonbi Gēmā Reberu Ten) is Genm's upgraded form, activated by inserting the Dangerous Zombie Gashat into the Buggle Driver and pressing the small red button next to the Gashat slot.

This form's original stats are superior to any forms provided by the first 10 Gashats, including Hunter Action Gamer Level 5's, and only loses to Ex-Aid's Robot Action Gamer Level 3 in terms of punching power. After collecting enough data on death by reviving 10 times, it becomes more powerful than even Level 50.

An extremely powerful form, this form's primary ability is immortality. Zombie Gamer can immediately recover from all but the most powerful of attacks. Only Kamen Rider Para-DX Level 50 has managed to knock him out of his transformation. As a result of Dangerous Zombie's theme, Genm often groans or exhibits bizarre and lumbering movements.

Though the Gashacon Bugvisor can be removed from the Bugster Buckle to absorb the debris of destroyed Bugsters, Genm does not use the Bugvisor as a weapon in this form. As such, he uses other Gashats in his possession to summon weapons. He predominantly uses Gashacon Sparrow from Giri Giri Chambara, but he has also been able to access the Gashacon Sword and Gashacon Magnum.

As described by Kuroto himself, "X" in this case refers not only the number 10, but also the unknown (due to the letter X being used in mathematics to represent an unknown variable). Thus, by purposely taking hits to die and revive, Genm can continuously use the data of death to increase the power of Level X (レベルX[エックス], Zonbi Gēmā Reberu Ekusu). This causes Genm's stats to skyrocket beyond that of Level 10 and grants him new abilities, such as creating duplicates of himself. Kuroto refers himself as Genm X while in this state.

Due to Ex-Aid Level 99's reprogramming ability, Genm eventually loses Level X's immortality, causing his Rider Gauge to refill and allowing it to be depleted normally like with other Kamen Riders.

Zombie Gamer (Level X) is composed of the following parts:[4]

  • GM Head-ZOM-X (GMヘッド-ZOM-X, GM Heddo-ZOM-X) - The helmet.
    • Eye Light Scope (アイライトスコープ, Ai Raito Sukōpu) - The 'eyes'. It can emit light for night battles and can also capture images comparable to a high- speed camera. It can also observe microscopic Bugster Virus.
    • Broken Goggles (ブロークンゴーグル, Burōkun Gōguru): The goggles. It emita a special light that can make an enemy's visual sensors malfunction and induce hallucinations.
    • Zombignal (ゾンビグナル, Zonbigunaru) - The red signalling device on the forehead. A play on the words 'zombie' and 'signal'. It can capture and identify motion and set tracking markers automatically. The radar on the internal monitor shows the positions of enemies, allies and energy items.
    • Fear Ride Hair (フィアーライドヘアー, Fiā Raido Heā) - The 'hair'. It is modelled after the player character of Dangerous Zombie and is coated with a blast-resistant coating.
    • Deadly Jammer (デッドリージャマー, Deddorī Jamā) - A special device installed on the Fear Ride Hair's white sections. It stops the protection function incorporated in the enemy's Gamer Driver, which would automatically cancel a transformation to protect the damaged Rider. Genm can also control if the Deadly Jammer remains active or not if he wants to keep his enemies alive.
    • Skull High Guard (スカルハイガード, Sukaru Hai Gādo) - The overall head armor. It is coated with an calcium-containing armor-strengthening substance, and protects various parts of the head from damage.
    • Face Guard Shackle (フェイスガードシャックル, Feisu Gādo Shakkuru) - The 'mouthplate'. Not only does it regulate Genm's internal heat by releasing it outside, but can also inject a high temperature steam to overheat his enemies (possibly the aforementioned internal heat).
  • Life Jail Armor (ライフジェイルアーマー, Raifu Jeiru Aāmā) - The white chest piece on Genm's right breast. It maintains the state when damage is temporarily invalidated when a Rider Gauge hits 0.
  • Rider Gauge (ライダーゲージ, Raidā Gēji) - Genm's Rider Gauge is shown cracked and always at 0, which never changes even when taking battle damage.
  • Zombie Gear Suit (ゾンビギアスーツ, Zonbi Gia Sūtsu) - The bodysuit. It increases the rider's physical capability by strengthening the body. The athletic ability and reaction speed oriented adjustments increases Genm's skills. Additionally, when the inbuilt limiter is released, unpredictable behaviour can be utilised by taking advantage of gaming problems such as lagging.
  • Revenant Dischargers (レブナントディスチャージャー, Rebunanto Disuchājā) - Circular control devices attached to Genm's right shoulder and joint parts. They automatically control the output and behaviour of techniques to increase hit rate. Additionally, they lift the body's power limit; the power of techniques is raised as a result of Genm's physical ability being pushed beyond the limit.
  • Dangerous Breaker (デンジャラスブレイカー, Denjarasu Bureikā) - Genm's left shoulder armor. It has spikes for protection, and can be used offensively to pierce the enemy's vital point with a charged spike to put them into a paralyzed state. Additionally, it can increase the entire body's defensive power by spraying a calcium-containing armor-strengthening agent.
  • GM Growth Arm (GMグロウスアーム, GM Gurousu Āmu) - The arms. It has a function called Gain Riser (ゲインライザー, Gein Raizā) that increases combat capabilities based on Genm's level and combat experience. The arms allow for quick responses for complicated attacks.
  • Living Dead Gloves (リビングデッドグローブ, Ribingu Deddo Gurōbu) - The hands. Their surfaces can data communicate with held Gashacon Weapons, linking and optimising attack systems. When coming into contact with an enemy, the Living Dead Gloves can inject a harmful program into their systems, drastically reducing their fighting power and causing serious damage to their Drivers and weapons.
  • Bone Build Guard (ボーンビルドガード, Bōn Birudo Gādo) - Protective armor pieces attached to the forearms and lower legs. They resemble bones. They will restructure themselves according to the extent of the damage received in order to increase durability. Additionally, each Bone Build Guard rewrites the Gain Riser installed in the body, dramatically increasing attack and defense power.
  • GM Growth Legs (GMグロウスレッグ, GM Gurousu Reggu) - The legs. It has a function called Gain Riser (ゲインライザー, Gein Raizā) that increases combat capabilities based on Genm's level and combat experience. Their high running speed allows the rider to attack quickly.
  • Living Dead Shoes (リビングデッドシューズ, Ribingu Deddo Shūzu) - The feet. They are protected with laminated armor that is strong against physical pressure and impacts, and can utilise powerful treading attacks that take advantage of its weight. When coming into contact with an enemy, the Living Dead Shoes can inject a harmful program into their systems, drastically reducing their fighting power and causing serious damage to their Drivers and weapons.

This form has seven finishers:

  • Buggle Driver finishers:
    • Critical End (クリティカルエンド, Kuritikaru Endo): This finisher has two variations.
      • Genm flies into the air, spins backwards rapidly to become an effective saw, and flies into the target. Genm uses this version in episode 12 to defeat and kill Lazer.
      • Genm directly performs a flying side kick. He uses this version in episode 18 to kill Motors Bugster Level 5.
    • Critical Dead (クリティカルデッド, Kuritikaru Deddo): Genm creates a horde of shadow zombies that close in on the enemy, beginning to flash red. After they get close enough, they turn fully red and explode into bursts of dark energy, causing a massive explosion.
      • A variation to this finisher is instead of creating a horde of shadow zombies, he creates a horde of himself as data clones that close in on the enemy, beginning to flash red. After they get close to the enemy enough, they enter the enemy's body, causing not only the enemy Rider to forcefully deactivate the transformation, but also destroying the enemy Rider's Gamer Driver, making it useless in the process.
  • Gashacon Sparrow finisher:
    • Giri Giri Critical Finish (ギリギリクリティカルフィニッシュ, Giri Giri Kuritikaru Finisshu, Slash Slash Critical Finish)
      • Arrow: Genm shoots several arrows at enemies, before creating a massive amount of energy arrows that under his command (In this case, a kick), can impales the enemy in high speed.

    • Totem Mad Armor (トーテマッドアーマー, Tōtemaddo Āmā) - The golden chest and shoulder armor. Because Totema is programmed to be an undefeatable enemy (倒せない敵, taosenai teki), and due to Genm absorbing some of Totema's powers, it will not destroyed unless an unexpected situation occurs.
    • Despair Claws (ディスペアクロー, Disupea Kurō) - The golden reinforced claws. Telescopic gimmicks are installed in various places, allowing Genm to attack multiple enemies within a wide range at once. It can also shoot beams to annihilate/critically injure targets.
    • Deadly Wheeler (デッドリーホイーラー, Deddorī Hoīrā) - The circular wheel-like attachment mounted on the back. It can materialise multiple monsters within a game area, and can restore itself and the monsters multiple times. It can capture and convert a monster into a purple destructive beam,

Attacks:

  • Despair Claw: A pair of claws which can be extended freely.
  • Deadly Wheeler: He can fire a purple beam from the Deadly Wheeler, which is strong enough to even be on par and overpower a Rider Kick from Ex-Aid Level 99.

Relationships

  • CR:
    • Emu Hojo: Emu respects him and see him as a good man. Although Dan helps him in his civilian form, Dan acts hostile/even murderous to him as Genm. However, Emu is oblivious of this fact until Dan reveals himself to the Riders once his battle data gathering has been completed. Turns out, Kuroto had known Emu 16 years ago and infected him with Bugster when Emu was a kid, shortly before he had a traffic accident and placed in a special surgery held by Kyotaro Hinata. Then the experiment on Emu by Michihiko Zaizen under request of Kuroto himself in 2010. Dan's relation with him only grew worse after seeing the Mighty Brothers XX Gashat, a game he didn't create, so he personally wants to kill Emu and wipe the data of the game out completely. Kuroto compares Emu and his idealistic, kind nature as a doctor with a crystal; once it's shattered, he won't be the same doctor again. He has said to Emu that he will soon destroy his crystal. Emu often calls Dan Genm when he transforms into Genm or not. Emu tries to save Dan after defeating him as a means of taking responsibility for his crimes, only to fail when Parado murders him in front of Emu. When Kuroto is later revived, though Emu does not forgive him, he gives Kuroto the chance to make up for his sins.
    • Asuna Karino/Poppy Pipopapo: Asuna affectionately calls Dan as 社長 (, Shachō) and greatly respects him. Dan in return also trusts Poppy for information regarding Gashats and the CR in his civilian form. Apparently, Poppy soon learns she was just a pawn to Dan when he reveals himself to the Riders that he is Genm, after he gathered enough battle data for his next plan. Later, after Kuroto's revival as a Bugster, he appears to be at Poppy's beck and call instead much to his dismay, due to Poppy being able to control him at will using the Gashacon Bugvisor II. Though he was originally bent on seeking revenge on Parado and acting on his own, Poppy's gratitude towards Kuroto for her creation (Affirming that he is her father), as well as she reminding him of his own mother, somewhat convinced Kuroto to side with the Riders for the time being.
    • Hiiro Kagami: They didn't interact much, but Hiiro shows some respect to him, although is somehow dubious of Dan's behavior until Dan reveals himself to the Riders of being Genm all along once his battle data gathering has been completed.
    • Kiriya Kujo: Kiriya saw Dan as his nemesis after he saw Dan's transformation into Genm. Dan, however, outsmarts him with Parado's help. Kiriya's hatred grows even further after that incident, even blackmailing him just to vent his anger. Strangely enough, however, he claims that he's committing all these actions to find out the truth of how the Bugsters came to the real world, not unlike Kiriya's search for the truth behind the Bugsters. Unfortunately, Kiriya was too late to notice and stop Dan's next move, after Dan finally reveals himself to the Riders once his battle data gathering has been completed. As Kiriya is a greater threat to Dan for his meddling, he then murdered Kiriya as Genm Zombie Gamer Level X and stole his Gashacon Sparrow for his own personal use. However, Ex-Aid Level 99 managed to render Genm powerless from being a Rider anymore and retrieved the Giri Giri Chambara Gashat back. After their respective revivals, Kiriya got his payback by injecting Kuroto several times with a lethal dose of Gamedeus virus, which he planned for the creation of Doctor Mighty XX. Four years later, Kuroto initiates Zombie Chronicle and Kiriya manages to stop Kuroto by depleting his last life, thus killing him permanently. However, After Emu and Asuna explained that Kuroto actually wants to be defeated and that God Maximum Mighty X Gashat restores his Human body, Kiriya was moved by his foe sacrifice. Kiriya decides to give Kuroto his final respect at their last battlefield and promised to always remember him.
    • Taiga Hanaya: Taiga mocks him because of Dan's laid-back behavior in civilian form. Although, Dan paid him no heed, even when Taiga bought his Gamer Driver back. Dan states that his Rider skills are undeniable despite how dangerous he is. Once Dan reveals himself to the Riders after he gathered enough battle data from Snipe and other Riders' battle, Taiga finally found out that he's being used by Dan.
  • Ministry of Health:
    • Kyotaro Hinata: Dan helped Kyotaro in the Gamer Driver and Gashat development. As such, they seem to be on good terms, until Kuroto reveal his true colors to the four doctor Kamen Riders once he completed his first evil plan. After his revival, he gave Kuroto a non-severe punishment as a result of creating an anti-Gamedeus vaccine, by locking him inside Poppy's DoReMiFa Beat arcade booth.
  • Bugsters:
    • Graphite: Dan seems to see Graphite as a tool for his goals, Graphite in return didn't like Dan either.
    • Parado: Dan is often helped by Parado regardless of his mission as Genm. Parado also noted that Dan's necessary for his plan. However, his relationship with Parado appears to grow more bitter when Parado destroyed the Revol Bugster against Dan's deterrence.[The Paradox of Defeating M] It gets worse even further when Dan himself does the same deed to the Burgermon Bugster right in front of Parado, though he completely destroys him instead of leaving any remains to absorb into the Bugvisor like Parado did. Thus, driving a wedge on their partnership. Ultimately, this becomes the reason Parado is fed up with his delusions when he kills Dan with no signs of remorse. When Kuroto is revived, he swears revenge on Parado. However, upon finding out that Parado needs to remain alive for Emu to access Ex-Aid Muteki Gamer and clear Kamen Rider Chronicle once and for all by defeating Gemdeus, Kuroto and Parado join forces for the time being.
  • Masamune Dan: His father and the first CEO of Genm Corp before Kuroto. During his childhood life 16 years ago, their relationship was well. In 2010/2011, he become corrupted and betrayed his father by framing him that he started the Zero Day, although it was revealed that his father used him as a "pawn" upon his true nature of completing the Kamen Rider Chronicle. Despite that, all of Kuroto's efforts in helping the Doctor Riders worked very well to the point he outsmarts his father. Kuroto seems to talk to him disrespectfully calling his by his name instead of Dad. Four years later, Kuroto manage to revive and imprisoned Masamune to gain his dad Bugster Virus, Another Parado, thus completing God Maximum Mighty X. Masamune then decide to battle his son as Cronus, but utterly defeated by Genm Level Billion. Before his second death however, Masamune give Kiriya his Bugvisor Zwei, imbued with Masamune Reset Power to stop Kuroto insanity for good, in which Kiriya accomplish as Lazer Level X.
  • Sakurako Dan: Kuroto was a loving son towards his mother while she was still alive. Even after her death, Kuroto seemed to never forget the memory of his mother.

Behind The Scenes

Portrayal

Kuroto Dan is portrayed by Tetsuya Iwanaga (岩永 徹也, Iwanaga Tetsuya). As a teenager, he is portrayed by Mitsumasa Sato (佐藤 光将, Satō Mitsumasa). Assuming the form of Kazuma Kenzaki in Kamen Sentai Gorider, he is portrayed by Takayuki Tsubaki (椿 隆之, Tsubaki Takayuki).

As Kamen Rider Genm, his suit actor is Satoshi Fujita (藤田 慧, Fujita Satoshi) in Level 1 and Yuya Nawata (縄田 雄哉, Nawata Yūya) in Level 2 to Level X. Nawata quit due to unknown reasons and was substituted out for Yuji Nakata (中田 裕士, Nakata Yuji) in Episode 23, and resumes his role as Genm Level X-0. Kosuke Asai (浅井 宏輔, Asai Kōsuke) was the suit actor for Genm Level 0. Genm's bike action suit stunt actor is Keigō Arizono (有薗 啓剛, Arizono Keigō).

Etymology

Kuroto's first name is a play on the Japanese words for black (, Kuro) and proto (プロト, Puroto). This is a reference to Genm being a dominantly black-colored Rider that is also a prototype of the main Rider, Ex-Aid.

Memes

Continue Claypipe

Continue Claypipe

  • After Kuroto reveals to Emu's status as patient zero of the Bugster virus in Episode 18, one of the notable memes is him laughing madly at the sight of Emu's subsequent outbreak. This is the moment where he became more erratic and infamously started became a more popular character.
    • Originally Kuroto's laughter wasn't scripted and was ad-libbed by Tetsuya Iwanaga himself, upon coming up with the idea noticing Emu's character fighting for making everybody smile except Kuroto's character.
  • In Episode 23, Kuroto was lethally infected by the Dangerous Zombie virus at the hands of Parado. As he struggles, another viral meme is death and his line "I'm God! My dreams are...IMMORTAL!!!".
  • After his resurrection as a Bugster, a common running gag for Kuroto is insisting the others to be refered with his self-proclaimed name New Kuroto Dan (新檀 黎斗, Shin Dan Kuroto) and later Kuroto Dan Shin (檀 黎斗 神, Dan Kuroto Shin).
    • This also applies whenever he gets a Game Over, Kuroto will usually re-appear from a purple pipe, usually with hilarious theatrics.
  • The warp pipe which the revived Kuroto Dan uses is named as Continue Claypipe (コンティニュー土管, Kontinyū Dokan) by fans and the blog of Bandai Candy Hatena Blog. [7] Because of the warp pipe's role to revive Kuroto after each Game Overs, it receive multiple memes from fans by reviving various characters, including those who received tragic deaths.

Notes

  • Genm's name when written in kanji is "幻夢", which means "illusion" and "dream".
  • Kamen Rider Ex-Aid is a game & doctor themed series; although Kuroto is a CEO of a game company, his actor Tetsuya Iwanaga is a licensed pharmacist in real life.
    • Likewise, while Kuroto arrogantly proclaims himself to be a genius, Iwanaga is actually a certified genius, a member of the Japanese branch of Mensa, and holds a number of licenses and qualifications including the aforementioned pharmacy license.
    • As Gamer Driver users (save for Parado) are known to have associated with the medical field, Kuroto's position may be an allusion to executives who have higher authorities in the hospital. As Genm (who infects patients rather than curing them), he is based on terrorists that weaponize pathogens for biological warfare.
  • His Action Gamer Level 1 and Action Gamer Level 2 suits are recolors of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid's Action Gamer Level 1 and Action Gamer Level 2 suits.
    • As this is a gaming themed Rider series, the recolor is a reference to palette swap characters often seen in Fighting games, which is one of the motifs of Ex-Aid.
  • He follows both the dark Kamen Rider trope and the evil counterpart trope, which are common respectively in the Kamen Rider Series and in video games.
  • Genm is the first Kamen Rider that is not the protagonist to debut in the previous series.
  • He is the first Rider to have a bicycle as his main Rider Machine, unlike previous one-time bicycle users, Beast and Double.
    • His Sports Action Gamer Level 3 is similar to Specter Houdini Damashii as well as Drive Type Tridoron, as all of these forms are made from the combination of the Kamen Rider and his Rider Machine.
    • His Rider Machine and Level 3 form are colored neon pink and green, which are strangely enough the same as Ex-Aid's base colors. Ironically, Ex-Aid acquired the Shakariki Sports Gashat after Genm's defeat, and used the said Gashat on the next episode.
SportsActionGamerFaceblinkers
  • Original scans showed Genm's Sports Action Gamer Level 3 wearing blinkers.
    • Coincidentally, the visor shares a visual similarity to the one worn by Kamen Rider Cronus.
  • Despite being a prototype, he is able to beat Ex-Aid. This makes him similar to AbareKillerIcon-crosswiki from Bakuryuu Sentai AbarangerIcon-crosswiki whose prototype status is revealed some episodes after his introduction.
    • Since the prototype Gashats caused users to behave increasingly erratic from using them, the prototype and the stabilized Gashats may share a similar nature to Gaia Memories used by the Dopants and W Riders respectively.
  • Dangerous Zombie is a survival horror game which features Zombies, this pays homage to other games such as Resident Evil and Dead Rising, where the zombies are people who are infected with a virus. Therefore, it's likely zombies in Dangerous Zombie are infected people too.
    • Due to Dangerous Zombie based on various zombie games, Kuroto's personality is similar to Resident Evil's Albert Wesker.
    • If proven true, Zombie Gamer is likely to reflect on Genm's status of "revived by being infected by the Bugster Virus and turned into a zombie".
    • Zombie Gamer's red and blue colored eyes could be a reference to the use of 3D in horror movies in the 80s, such as Friday the 13th Part III and Amityvile 3-D.
    • A further trope from such games lies in the weapons: Dangerous Zombie has no assigned weapon, and Kuroto uses weapons from the Gashats in his possession (Giri Giri Chambara, Taddle Quest, Bang Bang Shooting), which change as the series progresses. This is similar to survival horror games like Left 4 Dead 2 where weapons can be picked up and swapped at will.
  • Genm using the Buggle Driver to access his upgrade form (Zombie Gamer Level X) is very similar to Takatora Kureshima and Kaito Kumon when they both transform into Zangetsu Shin Melon Energy Arms and Baron Lemon Energy Arms respectively by using Genesis Driver and Takeru Tenkuji when he transforms into Ghost Grateful Damashii by using Eyecon Driver G.
    • Unlike the other Riders, however, the transformation device has no relation to its predecessor like the Sengoku and Genesis Drivers, nor is it related to the system from which the Eyecon Driver G is derived.
      • The transformation to Zombie Gamer also stands out in appearance as there's no transition like Level 1 (lacking a rear-facing face), and the armor and undersuit design has a marked difference from the Riders in Level 2.
    • The way the Gashat is slotted into the Buggle Driver and the mixture of black and white colors is similar to Kamen Rider Double's FangJoker form.
    • Genm's Zombie Gamer Level X is quite similar to Mashin Chaser's design, as well as spikes like Kamen Rider Double FangJoker.
    • Genm Zombie Gamer also has bi-chromatic eyes, probably a foreshadowing of Ex-Aid Double Action Gamer Level XX which debuted later.
      • It can be noticed that Genm Zombie Gamer's bi-chromatic eyes are due to a red-colored visor which has a piece broken off where the left eye is.
  • A recurring running gag form Genm is that he is completely mistaken as Ex-Aid (or vice-versa) in crossovers, due to their resemblance.
  • Dan is similar to Takatora Kureshima, in which both of them are top executives of their respective corporations who became Riders and are one of the strongest fighters among the Kamen Riders of their respective series. However, his personality has more similarities to Tenjuro Banno and Mitsuzane Kureshima (in the Over Lord and Forbidden Fruit sagas), in which he would ally with nonhuman enemies, deceive the protagonist, and try to eliminate Riders who he deems to be threats to his goals.
    • But his role is more like Kamen Rider Kabuki's role as an apparent ally to the heroic Kamen Riders who is secretly the antagonist, though only Kuroto's untransformed form is paraded as an ally while both Kabuki's human and Oni forms were falsely presented as good.
    • In addition, he is rather similar to Kyoji Murakami from Kamen Rider 555. As CEOs of their respective companies who have connections with their series' villains.
      • However, most of his traits as a CEO who is revealed to be a mastermind behind the starting events to achieve his superiority is much more like BOARD's chairman Hiroshi Tennoji than Murakami, as both are ultimately defeated by the heroes and killed by their former pawns in front of the heroes.
  • Like Ryoma Sengoku with his development of the Lockseeds, Kuroto doesn't like it when someone manages to create a new game that he doesn't know by using his Gashats. Though Kuroto is more extreme than Ryoma, since being the 'Game Master' himself, he swore to delete the data of any games he didn't create, while Ryoma just feels either surprised or jealous when someone managed to become more powerful without his own creations.
    • Also, the comparisons between Kuroto and Ryoma Sengoku are simply too obvious to ignore aside from being creators of their respective Rider Systems. Both take pride in all of their inventions, and seems to show their anger when one of the main Riders gained a power that they did not create - Double Action Gamer Level X(X) and Kachidoki Arms, respectively.
  • Dan's god complex as well as his manipulative nature in viewing the Bugsters and Kamen Riders as expendable pawns in his master plan is similar to Tenjuro Banno from Kamen Rider Drive. This would later turn out to be carried over from his father, Masamune Dan.
  • Dan being the creator of the Gashats and being in the "game" could be a nod to some games with Game Master Player Characters, where they are the ones who made the powers of the heroes possible, but can also give themselves powers that the other people playing the game can't have (such as the Dangerous Zombie Gashat).
  • Genm's Zombie Gamer "Level X" punching power of 66.6 tons and Zombie Action Gamer Level X-0 jump height of 66.6 m, are respectively a reference to the number 666, also called the Number of the Beast.
  • As of his death, Genm Zombie Gamer Level X has never demonstrated the ability to fire a hot stream from his Face Guard Shackle as mentioned on TV-Asahi's official website.
    • He would later show a similar ability as God Maximum Gamer level Billion during a special where he breathed purple mist that disintegrated enemy projectiles.
  • The method of Kuroto's death is very ironic, as he first used the Dangerous Zombie on his victim to drain his Rider Gauge and stole the Gashacon Sparrow before killing Kiriya. On his last stand, Emu would use Kiriya's Gamer Driver and Maximum Gamer's reprogramming ability (conceived by Kiriya himself before his death) to strip him away of his compatibility of being a Rider, only to be killed by Parado when he infects Kuroto with Bugster viruses contained from the aforementioned Gashat.
    • His death in Genm vs. Lazer is an ironic callback to his and Kiriya's fateful duel which lead to the latter's death where Genm steals the Giri Giri Chambara Gashat and Gashacon Sparrow. In their final battle on said movie, Kiriya uses the aforementioned Gashat in the Buggle Driver II to defeat Kuroto.
  • Kuroto masquerading as Blade parallels a similar situation in D-Video Special: Kamen Rider 4 where the Great Leader of Shocker took the form of Takumi Inui and transformed into Faiz with the Signal Legend Faiz.
  • While Kuroto's data was partially recovered in Proto Mighty Action X Origin, his physical appearance was covered in various markings and labels, including the label "GAME MASTER". This can be a reference to the appearance of partially corrupted or incompletely rendered graphics in a game's data.
  • Genm Level 0's ability to negate a Bugster virus's ability to infect their host is similar to the Anti-Bio ParticlesIcon-crosswiki harnessed by the Neo Empire GearIcon-crosswiki and Bio Hunter SilvaIcon-crosswiki from Choudenshi BiomanIcon-crosswiki.
    • Unlike his original usage as Genm Level X, Genm's usage of Dangerous Zombie Gashat along with the Proto Mighty Action X Origin Gashat as Genm Level X-0 does not give him immortality; his life count still applies even when he is in this form.
  • Kuroto's implied intentions behind Kamen Rider Chronicle as a means to revive his mother is similar to that of the Rider Fight orchestrated by Shiro Kanzaki of Kamen Rider Ryuki.
  • The way Kuroto stole a Rider's weapon makes him similar to Takeshi Asakura (Kamen Rider Ouja) from Kamen Rider Ryuki as both stole a Rider's arsenal by taking something of theirs for Kuroto he stole a Riders Gashat to access that Riders weapons like when he took Kiriya's Giri Giri Chambara Gashat to have access to the Gashacon Sparrow and for Takeshi he made contracts with fallen Riders Contract Monsters to access that fallen Riders arsenal and powers like when he contracted with Kamen Rider Gai's Contract Monster Metalgelas.
  • Dan's final level is Level Billion (ビリオン, Birion), which can also be translated to Virion, with a meaning of a complete, infective form of a virus outside a host cell, with a core of RNA or DNA and a capsid.
  • Kuroto Dan is the only Ex-Aid character and a veteran Rider who became an Another Rider (Another OOO) made by a Time Jacker, as well as the third Ex-Aid character after Emu Hojo and Hiiro Kagami who appears in Kamen Rider Zi-O.
