Kouta (コウタ, Kōta) was a young man who transforms into the Gecko Orphnoch (ゲッコーオルフェノク, Gekkō Orufenoku).
History[]
Sometime after his transformation, Kouta is taken in by Naoya Kaido and begins working at his ramen restaurant, which is actually an sanctuary to help Orphnochs with controlling their powers and living among humans. Kouta works with Kaido, Kei and Hisao. The Orphnochs are living peacefully until Hisao is attacked by the Kamen Rider Muez, Rena Kurumi. Though the others come to the rescue, the battle takes a turn for the worse when Takumi Inui attacks them as Kamen Rider Next Faiz. Kouta survives Next Faiz’ Axel attack with Kaido and Kei, but they are forced to retreat after Hisao is killed by Muez.
Back at the restaurant, Kouta becomes overwhelmed with fear of death and he rejects Kei’s affections for him. Not wanting to die, Kouta secretly contacts Smart Brain and reveals the Orphnoch sanctuary. When Muez attacks the group again, Kouta rushes to Nozomi Kitazaki and begs to be spared. But the Smart Brain president mortally wounds him by slashing wires through his head. Kouta tearfully apologizes to Kei for not treating her better and disintegrates in front of her. His death serves as the catalyst for Mari Sonoda to transform into the Wildcat Orphnoch.
Personality[]
Kouta is a shy individual who is clumsy with work, as he transforms into an Orphnoch when he accidentally spills ramen on himself and almost gets exposed to the human customers. Though he is very close with Kei, Kouta is easily teased by her antics. Sadly, he is also shown to be a coward as he betrays his friends to Smart Brain in hopes of joining the company. But Kouta is remorseful of his betrayal when Kitazaki mercilessly kills him.
