Kento Handa (半田 健人, Handa Kento) is a Japanese actor and singer who portrayed Takumi Inui/Kamen Rider Faiz in Kamen Rider 555, with his most recent reprisal of the role in Kamen Rider 555 20th: Paradise Regained.
Biography[]
Handa was selected as a finalist in the 2001 Junon Superboy Contest. He made his acting debut in Gokusen, where he was co-stars with Masayuki Izumi before they were cast in 555. After receiving the role of Takumi, he was considered the most handsome lead Rider so far.
In 2014, he began a music career.
Personal Life[]
- Handa had never watched any Tokusatsu prior to being cast into the role of Takumi. He had considered watching the original 1971 series in preparation for the role, but was suggested by director Ryuta Tasaki to not do so, as he wanted Handa to create his own vision of the character without any prior "prejudice".
- Handa was never informed of the plot revelation that Takumi was an Orphnoch, but he had suspicions since filming the first episode. The director, Ryuta Tasaki, directed him to act dignified, as Handa originally performing the scene with surprise. He only found out about Takumi being an Orphnoch during the filming of Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost.[1]
