Kentaro Maeda (前田 拳太郎, Maeda Kentaro) is a Japanese actor and model who portrays Ikki Igarashi/Kamen Rider Revi in Kamen Rider Revice.
Biography[]
Maeda wanted to be a Kamen Rider at a young age and began to pursue acting, In college, he applied for the Junon Superboy Contest and won BEST 30, but did not make it to the finals. As COVID-19 had also shut down most of the clubs at his school, Maeda did not want to give up on his dream of being an actor and actively searched for an agency to join. [1]
He ultimately found LDH and received acting training at an Exile Tribe studio.[2] After graduating, he made his acting debut where he appeared in a drama series. He joined LDH that following July, and was cast into the lead role of Ikki Igarashi in Revice.
In November 2022, Maeda joined his agency's theater troupe GEKIDAN EXILE, to which he is a member of alongside Ex-Aid-star Hayato Onozuka.
In 2023, Maeda starred as Takumi Misusawa in Themis' Classroom alongside both Fumiya Takahashi and Yuki Yamada
, both whom Maeda sees as his "Tokusatsu role models", while also referring to the Zero-One-star as his "Reiwa Rider co-star".[3]
In September 2023, Maeda starred in Kimi ni wa todokanai (I will not reach you), which released to international acclaim.
In April 2024, Maeda reunited with Revice co-star Tomoya Oku in Kimi to Yukite Saku ~Shinsengumi Seishunroku~. Maeda expressed his excitement in working with Oku again.[4] The show also stars other former Kamen Rider cast members such as Maito Fujioka, Kazuto Mokudai, and Hideyoshi Kan. In October 2024, Maeda made his voice acting debut as Yuta Inohara in the anime film Fureru.[5]
Personal Life[]
- Maeda is skilled in karate and holds a second-degree black belt, having won several competitions in high-school.[6][7] Maeda is also a skilled ballroom dancer.
- Maeda watched both Kamen Rider Kabuto and Kamen Rider Den-O as a child.[8] Maeda is also a fan of Super Sentai as well, having noted Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger
and Tokuso Sentai Dekaranger
as favorites.[9][10] - Maeda's younger sister is Kokoro Maeda, who is an idol.
- Maeda is childhood friends with Haruka Kudo.[11]
- Maeda's favorite actor is Ryusei Yokohama, who previously portrayed Hikari Nonomura/ToQ 4gou in Ressha Sentai ToQger and had a small role as Jiro Iseki in Kamen Rider Fourze.
- Maeeda is close friends with co-star Tomoya Oku, where they both bonded over the anime The Quintessential Quintuplets upon learning that one of the anime's cast members Miku Ito, had joined the cast of Revice.[12]

Notes[]
- Maeda celebrated his 22nd birthday one day after Revice's first episode was aired.
- Much of the karate that Ayaka Imoto performs as Sakura Igarashi in the show was taught to her by Maeda himself.[13]
- Both Maeda and Wataru Hyuga had visited the set of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger on its final day of shooting to congratulate its cast members.[14]
