History
Background
Keiwa Sakurai was born on August 25, 2000 to his parents Shigeru and Yukino Sakurai, and has an older sister, Sara. When Keiwa was young, his parents were slain by the Jyamato in a prior Desire Grand Prix, though Keiwa has no recollection of the events due to not being at the venue in person while Sara's memories of the events were altered following the conclusion of that round. Now under the pretension that his parents died in an unfortunate accident, he was raised solely by Sara.
During his adolescent years, Keiwa often participated in humanitarian aid, which fueled his desire for world peace. After entering college, he began job hunting.
Daybreak/Encounter Arc
While attending a group interview at an IT company, Keiwa was declined a position by the manager Takahito Taira, who was dissatisfied with Keiwa's responses. When Sara took him to lunch for tanuki soba, the siblings were separated by a sudden Jyamar Area. While running to safety, Keiwa ran into Neon Kurama and were saved by Takeshi Goutokuji, who was later instantly killed by the Slug Fortress Jyamato. When the pair encounter Ace Ukiyo, he assured them that he would save the world. Keiwa and Neon watched Ace transform into Kamen Rider Geats and defeat the Jyamato horde, which returned the world back to normal and erased their memories. [Daybreak F: Invitation to the Rider]
Keiwa suddenly awoke in his room and believed that the entire experience was a dream. When he returned to the restaurant for a meal, he was approached to enter the Desire Grand Prix by Tsumuri, which restored his memories. Reuniting with familiar faces like Ace and his interviewer Taira, Keiwa became motivated to participate to fulfill his desire for world peace. After orientation and being put into combat, Ace chastised Keiwa for not battling valiantly enough for his wish. Keiwa witnessed firsthand the true nature of the Desire Grand Prix; Taira tragically died in his hands while he was tricked into giving Ace the Boost Buckle, but nevertheless was able to pass the first round. [Encounter I: Treasure Hunting and Thievery]
Going into the Zombie Survival round, Keiwa prioritized getting civilians to safety and received the Boost Buckle as a reward. After the first wave, Keiwa and Ace provided emotional support for Neon, who was infected by the zombie virus and had temporarily lost her will to fight. Keiwa gave her his Boost Buckle to boost her morale and assisted her in clearing the final horde of zombies. During the Concentration game, Keiwa was paired with Michinaga Azuma, but temporarily re-paired with Kamen Rider PunkJack after Morio Koganeya requested a switch. However Keiwa made it through with Michinaga after the latter secretly requested a switch back into their original pairings. [Encounter II: Zombie Hunting][Encounter III: Conditions for Victory][Encounter IV: Duo Concentration][Encounter V: Reversal Boost]
During the final round, the players were forced to battle the Saboten Knight Jyamato, a final boss that had annihilated every player in a prior tournament. While Ace seemingly encouraged him to face the Jyamato head on, this was actually a ruse to get the Ninja Buckle, which enraged Keiwa. After saving Sara from a Jyamato attack, Keiwa learned from Sara's regained memories of the truth behind their parents' deaths. Determined to save his sister, Keiwa was chosen by the Ninja Buckle and transformed into Ninja Form. Although he defeated the Jyamato, he was retire ddue to having taken excessive damage. Regardless, he expressed his relief for his sister's safety before vanishing. [Encounter VI: Last Boss and Kicking Can][Encounter VII: Trump Card Ninja]
Conspiracy Arc
Due to his retirement, Keiwa lost not only his memories, but his desire for world peace as well. However he was one of the "victims" inside a bus caught in a Jyama Area. As this indicated a new round of the Desire Grand Prix, Keiwa was protected by Ittetsu Tanba and cursed himself for being unlucky. After being caught in a dangerous situation while having regained his memories through touching Ace's ID Core, Keiwa expressed his desire to fight again and was approved by the Game Master to return as Kamen Rider Tycoon once again. Though they were able to finish the round, Keiwa's entry meant Ittetsu had to be eliminated, which the latter gladly did so voluntarily to make room for the young man.
At the end of the round, Ittetsu thanked Keiwa for giving him the strength to live, thus no longer needing the wish to restore his youth. With Keiwa back in the competition, he chose a new wish: to restore the lives and memories of all fallen players.
Later on, Keiwa discovered that a Jyamato Rider was reciting the words of a previously deceased player. He brought this up to Girori but was not given a solution.[Conspiracy V: Glare of Anger]
During the interim round, Girori tasked Keiwa and Neon with taking down Ace, as the latter was nearing victory once again. While Keiwa was unsure whenever to follow Girori's orders, he was reassured that his wish would be granted should he take Ace down, while being given a Command Buckle to aid him in his fight. Keiwa discussed Girori's new orders with Neon at the Desire Temple salon, and the two secretly formulated a plan expose Girori's behavior to management after agreeing that his actions were indeed corrupt. The next day, Keiwa confronted Ace in battle in an attempt to lure Girori out, while Neon used her connections with her father to have the producer Niramu witness the corruption firsthand. Despite Girori defending his actions, Keiwa was able to dispute his arguments, resulting in Girori's deletion by Niramu. The players then learn that the Desire Grand Prix is actually a reality show, with the three being given priority entry in the next season due to the current one being canceled.
Divergence Arc
Having entered the new DGP run by Chirami, Keiwa began to notice that the Jyamato were exhibiting behavioral patterns similar to the previous DGP participants that died fighting, such as Takeshi Goutokuji or Takahito Taira. Simultaneously while attempting to unmask the DezaStar and avoid suspicion from the intelligent Daichi Isuzu, Keiwa's discovered a Jyamato wearing the face of Takeshi but was not believed. [Divergence I: Welcome! To the New Season!] With his personal ratings with the audience at a low and him being highly suspect of being the DezaStar due to his own careless actions, Keiwa found advice with his new Rider supporter Kekera.
At the same time, Ace had believed Keiwa after learning of the Jyamato's true nature from the surviving Michinaga, and encouraged him to prove that he wasn't the DezaStar. After saving a group of children to prove that he wasn't so, he gained Ace, Neon, and Sae's trust and was able to vote Daichi out of the game. During the Timebomb Game, Keiwa learned that Sara had received a bomb package, which was set to explode as per the rules. After working with the other players, Keiwa learned how to disarm the bomb and saved his sister. Later during the voting period, Keiwa was surprised to see Sae vote herself out despite not being the DesaStar, which left either Ace or Neon.
With no Jyamato appearing, Chirami personally entered the game as Kamen Rider Glare2 for the sake of entertaining the audience, but Keiwa exhibited poor performance due to the round's various traps. As Keiwa expressed his worries about accusing his friends, Ace assured that Keiwa would not regret trusting him in the end, leading to Keiwa ultimately deducing Neon to be the DesaStar as he noticed she had been casting a lot of doubt over Ace.
Voting period however, was canceled due to Chirami having lost his Vision Driver to Beroba, Michinaga's new supporter. To prevent Beroba from accessing the mighty power of the Goddess of Genesis, the three were personally tasked by Niramu to retrieve the stolen Vision Driver from Beroba's base of operations, the Jyamar Garden. While Keiwa and Neon fight a horde of Jyamato there, they encounter Daichi working for them. Before their fight could conclude, Beroba transformed into the giant Kamen Rider Beroba and destroyed the garden.
Lamentation Arc
Although Beroba destroyed the garden, Keiwa and the others were able to escape with minor injuries. Keiwa sat with Kekera in his supporter room where they watched the Special Episode, learning of the various eras in which the Desire Grand Prix existed. However Beroba hijacked the show and announced the reformatted version of the Desire Grand Prix, the Jyamato Grand Prix, where they were deemed the enemies while Michinaga and other Jyamato were the "players." To reclaim their game, the Riders participate in the Lightning Jyamato Festival, where Keiwa and Neon are injured from an incoming Jyamato attack while defending a mundane festival. As such, they devote the rest of their time protecting the crowds while Ace fought and defeated both Michinaga and Toru Imai directly on his own.
During the Sengoku Game, Keiwa and Neon began to notice Ace's weariness, which left him out of commission from fighting. After meeting with Ace's supporter Ziin, he informs them that it was due to Ace's newly acquired form, Boost MarkII, which did come with side effects. Ziin revealed his intent to discover Ace's past and learned of Ace's reincarnation for the past 2000 years, a fact that left Keiwa and Kekera surprised. Later during the game's conclusion, Keiwa and Neon stayed to protect Niramu while Ace fought Beroba, having acquired the new LazerBoost Form from Ziin to defeat her.
As the Bullfighting Game went underway, Keiwa was the first participant of a series of 1v1 matches, but was unfairly defeated and imprisoned by their enemies. Keiwa could do nothing but watch behind bars as he witnessed Neon's biggest secret regarding Akari Kurama unfold. He was released after Neon and her supporter Kyuun were able to win the game.
In the final round, the Heaven and Hell Game, Sara is put in danger by the colorful dots created by the Evil Goddess. Keiwa struggled to save her and fight the Jyamato at the same time until he learned from Beroba and Michinaga that the Goddess of Genesis, was actually Mitsume, Ace's long-lost mother, whose powers were entirely fueled by stealing the desires and hopes from other people. Distraught by the fact that this symbolized the complete opposite of what he thought was world peace, he angrily confronted Ace and blamed Mitsume for his family's misfortune. In his attempt to be the righteous hero, Keiwa is killed by Michinaga.
Yearning Arc
In the light of Michinaga winning the Jyamato Grand Prix, Keiwa did not return, prompting Sara to look for him. After Ace returned Suel inviting both Ace and Michinaga into the Desire Royale, it prompted Kekera offer to help Beroba with whatever she wanted in exchange for her promise to help revive Keiwa. Kekera initiated Sara until the Desire Grand Prix as Kamen Rider Hakubi, to which Keiwa is revived with no memories of the DGP, reverting to his desire-less, lottery-scratching personality after his last elimination and before his re-entry in the Conspiracy Arc.
After Sara entered the Desire Grand Prix and was on the verge of defeat by Daichi, footage her fight was shown to Keiwa by Kekera, which spurred the return of his memories and his return to the Desire Grand Prix. Tycoon saves Sara from Nadge-Sparrow and spars with him before Buffa arrives, knocking Tycoon down and preparing to kill him, Na-Go, and a detransformed Sara in one blow. Geats saves all three and helps them escape.
Later, Ace tells Keiwa that he plans to wish for a world without the DGP to free his mother. Keiwa says he can't allow that until he's used his wish to revive all players and undo the damages Ace's mother has done as Desire Goddess. [Yearning II: Geats' Aim of Attack]
As Sara was unconscious when Keiwa saved her, she did not know that Keiwa had returned as Kamen Rider Tycoon. To keep it that way, Keiwa uses his Ninja Buckle's cloaking ability to hide from her in the field as she hunts with Neon for unused ID Cores, the latest game in the Desire Royale. In the player's lounge, Keiwa would use an animal statue to pose as Sara's supporter and give her advice. Neon, Daichi, and to a lesser extent Ace help maintain this charade. Separately, Keiwa tries to convince Neon that even though she was born of the DGP, she can have a future in their era with Keiwa and Sara is she so chooses. [Yearning III: A Sister's Wish, A Brother's Wish]
However, Kekera and Beroba have the Jyamato target Sara, with the belief that killing her would push Keiwa to new heights as a Rider. As their efforts become aggressive and Sara is seconds away from being killed, Keiwa intervenes and transforms in plain sight, blowing his cover. The siblings escape with Neon, confronting each other about having become Riders to protect each other and keep each other from also becoming Riders. After Neon breaks up the fight, Sara explains that she now also participates in the DGP in an effort to help Neon obtain happiness. Keiwa acknowledges that his sister is strong in her own way. [Yearning IV: Temporary Co-Op]
The final results of the ID Core quest reveal that Sara and Michinaga are tied for first with 33 ID Cores each, resulting in one hour of "overtime." Keiwa learns from Neon that the administrators do not plan to grant anyone's wish after the Desire Royale, no matter who wins, before Keiwa, Neon, and Sara are ambushed by Michinaga. Michinaga succeeds in destroying the Hakubi and Na-Go ID Cores in one blow, eliminating Neon and Sara in front of Keiwa's eyes. Michinaga tells Keiwa that if he surrenders, letting Michinaga destroy the Tycoon ID core will allow Keiwa to return to life before the DGP with Sara (and Neon, to a lesser extent). Keiwa insists that it is not an option until he's used the Desire Goddess's power to restore all the fallen players. Michinaga argues that he cannot do that without making someone else less happy, which Keiwa rejects. Michinaga defeats Keiwa and nearly destroys his ID Core before Win intervenes as Kamen Rider PunkJack, announcing the end of overtime.
Win also tells Keiwa, Michinaga, and Ace about his discovery - that Ace's mother entered into a romantic relationship with a former DGP Deza Shin, which led to Ace's birth. Her desire for love led to her receiving the power to warp reality, but it was the DGP administrators who then decided to enslave her and use that power to increase the stakes. [Yearning V: Pure White Destruction]
Genesis Arc
In this new tournament Keiwa is unsure to participate because there is no prize itself. In the end, he decided to join in order to protect people from this new threat. [Genesis I: My DesiGra] After Daichi turns Sara into a Pawn Jyamato as part of his revenge against him, Keiwa desperately searches for her only to see her accidentally killed by Buffa, leaving him devastated and blaming him for her death. [Genesis II: Tycoon Awakening]
At home, he is still devastated by the supposed death of his sister when Kekera approaches him to propose that there's a way to revive his sister. After that Keiwa asks Tsumuri for help to create a new Buckle for him so that he never loses forever. He witnesses Buffa killing Stage 2 Jyamato victims then mockingly asks if he's gonna kill more people, with Michinaga replying there's no choice since they can't be cured, leading to a fight between them, which ends with Tycoon defeating him.[Genesis III: The Jet-Black Shogun]
[Genesis IV: Completion of the Goddess, Blade of Darkness]
[Genesis V: His Name Is Gya-Go!]
Keiwa would finally decided to confront Ace in order to realize his ideal world. Both fighters transformed and battle each other. However, when he recognized that Ace is holding back, he chided him for not taking him on seriously and asked Ace if the happy world he talked about is worth believing.
When Ace genuinely asks him to believe in his world that could make all people happy, Keiwa is immediately taken aback as he feels that he doesn't have the adequate power to do it and requested that Ace prove his status as God of Genesis by reluctantly swinging Bujin at him.
Upon witnessing Ace's transformation into God of Genesis and being asked once more to believe in his world, Keiwa returns to the light. [Genesis VII: Where Wishes Go]
After Ace changed the world back to how it was, Keiwa would have a long chat with Ace. He managed to learn about Zitt's plan to commence war on humanity using Bad End Game. He would also be encouraged by Ace to forgive Michinaga, by exclaiming that it was Michinaga sin that Keiwa should hate, not Michinaga himself.
When Michinaga defeated Beroba for good, Keiwa would prevent Kekera from finishing Michinaga off and tend to the purple Rider. Both then have a heart-to-heart with each other, where they apologize for each other's mistakes. This earned him a disappointment from Kekera, due to not meeting the supporter's ideals of a Kamen Rider. Keiwa immediately rebelled against Kekera, saying that he is the one who forced the twisted ideals on him and that he's done being manipulated by Kekera.
Keiwa then gathered with the others to free Sara from Tree of Knowledge, which is successful as Sara returns to Keiwa once again. [Genesis VIII: Goodbye, Michi]
Keiwa would confront Kekera for one last time when the later had taken three hostages and plan to pawn them off to the Jyamato. After Daichi saved the hostages using his Jyamato powers, Keiwa transformed again and fiercely beats up Kekera with Ninja Form.
In order to show Kekera what true Kamen Rider is, Keiwa assumed the Bujin Sword Form (now with bright red eyes) and launched a powerful Rider Kick at his supporter, knocking them both out of their transformations. Keiwa then thanked Kekera for choosing him to be a Rider in the first place, garnering a heartful laughter from his supporter as he disappeared for good. [Genesis IX: A True Kamen Rider]
[Genesis X: Tsumuri's Requiem]
After Suel's defeat, Keiwa returned to a normal job hunting life and began aspiring to be a police officer to aim for his dream of world peace, while Keiwa takes out his Tycoon Core ID for a moment to look at it, seemingly to remember Ace. [Daybreak I: Here Comes The Highlight!]

Personality
Keiwa is an extremely good-natured person who wishes for world peace. He is also described as a straightforward person who thinks of others first. However, he also has a cynical outlook on life, believing that a perfect world is just an unreachable dream. He is also visibly disturbed by the fact that Riders are capable of dying during the Desire Grand Prix. However, despite this harsh fact on life, Keiwa remains an unyielding young man, willing to put his life on the line for others, the principal of the shinobi. After Suel's defeat, Keiwa's wish of world peace is reinforced in him attempting to become a police officer.
In the Desire Grand Prix, at first, due to inexperience, Keiwa does not usually go out to fight the Jyamato, instead opting to save any civilians in the area, which earns him enough points to advance through the rounds, but later he grows to be a formidable combatant who still focuses on saving civilians. His inexperience also leads for him to be tricked by others such as Ace Ukiyo, as the DGP is a game where players compete with each other to get their wish granted and he's one of their opponents. Despite the competitive nature of the game, Keiwa stays considerate to other players, he acts as the peacemaker who constantly tries to make the players get along, talking things out concerning their problems, and calling out the players who behaved rudely. He also often hands over his Raise Buckles he acquires to support someone else, especially the Boost Buckle, which for some reason he keeps finding in the game events through sheer luck. Overall, he wants the Desire Grand Prix and its players to be used as a means to protect the world from the Jyamato.
After Keiwa's elimination from the DGP, as a result of the game's cost of removing desire from a person, several aspects of his personality were temporarily changed, such as his favorite food being sushi instead of tanuki soba, and buying lottery tickets for himself instead of donating his money for charitable causes as Sara expected, due to giving up in his efforts to find a job. This is due to Keiwa's cynicism worsening, making him much more unmotivated than usual and instead wallowing in his bad luck. Keiwa later manages to regain his motivation after being inspired by Ittetsu and Yoshiki's risky actions to protect others, and this change fully fades after Keiwa regains his driver and memories.
Despite his heroic and selfless nature, though, he's not completely infallible. Though kind, he lacks resolve and a clear path on what he truly wants in life. This makes him fail to properly understand why the other players would risk their lives to achieve their dreams, thus when he encourages someone, he only offers them weak platitudes, as he doesn't understand their struggles and resolve, getting himself lectured that nice words alone isn't always helpful. His lack of understanding of others' resolve culminates in him being inconsiderate in his attempts to defeat the final boss and save Sara, forcing the other Riders to do his biddings to achieve that, with a strategy that involves them throwing the game and their dreams. This changes after Ace scolds him for his self-righteousness, that other Riders' reasons to fight that are just as valid as his own, and questions if he himself would care if he and Sara are safe. By this, he renews his resolve, and relies on his motivation to save Sara, getting himself eliminated due to his injuries, but gaining the respect of the others, with him later also standing up for the Rider's wishes when Girori calls Ace's wishes "trivial".
His motivation for world peace is also done for Sara's sake, like Ace suggested, to make the world safe for her. While he does care for others, he has tunnel vision for Sara, prioritizing her safety above all, even at the expense of others, including his own elimination in the DGP. Overall, Sara is the rock that keeps him falling to despair, and Sara's apparent demise by Michinaga amplifies Keiwa's negative traits to the extreme. From this point, Keiwa discarded most of his heroic traits, being fully consumed by hatred and vengeance, hellbent on making those with Genesis powers, such as Ace and Tsumuri, pay for Mitsume's "sins", despite that Mitsume was innocent and is only used by the DGP management as personal tool, and intends to mercilessly kill Daichi Isuzu without thinking of the long-term consequences. His cynical outlook worsened to the point of resorting to extreme methods to get his wish granted for immediate benefits, resorting to working with the DGP management by manipulating Tsumuri to grant himself Bujin Sword, and kidnapping her afterwards. When his attempts to fix the damages done by the DGP fail with his family getting killed, he plans to revive his own family at the expense of others' happiness. He also replaces his transformation pose with a sinister finger crack which in turn confirms that the Inner Demon that Kagero saw in Keiwa's head is his cynicism and self righteousness taken form.
Despite his now-cold personality, Keiwa still retains some of his original personality, such as when he was visibly upset when Beroba kidnapped Neon Kurama. He also falters when he realizes that he's turning more similar into Kanato Sumida from his despair, a spiteful misanthropist when the latter ask him who was it that wants to have his family back at the cost of everyone. Eventually, Ace sets him back on the right path, by giving him the proof of what his powers can do, and others' resolve in saving Sara, renewing his hope and idealism. Ace also encourages him to not hate the sinner, but the sin itself, allowing Keiwa to return to his kind-hearted personality while letting go of the hatred and vengeance he held against Michinaga, thanking him for his efforts to try to save Sara even afterwards. This is also later shown in him giving Daichi a second chance, and giving Kekera some credit in acknowledging his role of turning him into Kamen Rider despite acknowledging how much suffering he causes to him and rejecting his teachings, firmly refusing to sacrifice the happiness of others for his own, believing that he doesn't need to do so to achieve it. Keiwa retained some of the assertiveness he had gained since then and dared Kekera to come at him.

Relationships
Family
Family
- Sara Sakurai/Kamen Rider Hakubi: Keiwa's older sister who was unaware of being involved in the Desire Grand Prix. Later not only she befriend Ace & Neon, but ends up competing in the Desire Royale by Kekera as a means of turning Keiwa. Michinaga accidentally murders Sara as a Jyamato, not knowing Daichi infected her with the parasites. Her death ends up with Keiwa turning into what Kekera wanted, as he takes his revenge on Michinaga. Finding her sister still alive as Michinaga sought redemption, Keiwa used the formula Daichi created to free Sara from the Jyamato tree, bringing her back to life.
Friends
- Ace Ukiyo/Kamen Rider Geats: Keiwa's fellow competitor in the Desire Grand Prix. They previously met in the 1st Known Game of the Desire Grand Prix when Ace saved him and Neon. He has a mixed relationship with Ace, as even though him and Ace are friendly outside of battle, he has also been tricked a few times by Ace for the latter's own benefit. However, Ace's flip-flop attitude has also indirectly served as a guide for Keiwa, challenging his shaky outlook and resolve on life. In the end when Keiwa is eliminated for sustaining too much damage, Keiwa thanks him for securing the Ninja Buckle, claiming that through Ace he had managed to save his sister. Ace rejects the idea, claiming it was Keiwa's own resolve and "undying heart" that was responsible, implying he held a new respect for Keiwa. Ace then made a promise to Keiwa that he would "end the world with his own hands." During one of Girori's attempts to oust Ace by giving Keiwa Command Twin Buckle, they come to acknowledge each other's strengths. Ultimately Keiwa became sharp and witty enough to expose Girori, much to Ace's joy. Ace became further pleased at Keiwa's progress when he was able to look past his naivete to identify Neon as the Desastar in the Divergence Arc. The two were staunch allies in the Jamato Grand Prix until Keiwa learned that Ace's mother was the Desire Goddess and her power bestows DGP winners with the happiness of those who die during the DGP, whether players or civilians like Keiwa's parents. Following both Riders' resurrections, their goals are at odds. Ace seeks to free his mother as Desire Goddess by ending the DGP, while Keiwa seeks to keep the DGP alive long enough to force her to revive the fallen. Nevertheless, they're still friends shown in Ace rescuing Keiwa and his sister Sara from Michinaga's killing blow. He also does not hesitate to aid Keiwa in his efforts to keep his enrollment in the Desire Royale a secret from Sara. However, Sara's demise soured their friendship, as Keiwa resorts into making Tsumuri the new Goddess of Genesis, and still blames Mitsume for the pain he and others had suffered, with Ace calling out how low Keiwa has sunk to perform similar actions as the DGP management. However, after their duel and Ace's transformation into the God of Genesis, he begins to believe in Ace again, regaining their friendship.
- Neon Kurama/Kamen Rider Na-Go: Before Keiwa had met Neon, he knew of her as a celebrity liked by his older sister Sara. However as both Keiwa and Neon joined the Desire Grand Prix, Keiwa began to care for her, expressing his worrisome over Neon's zombification. During this time, he also became highly protective of her and immediately jumped to stop Buffa from attacking her without any hesitation. Due to Neon's Dezastar status, they interact less in the Divergence Arc, and their relationship briefly goes sour, but they quickly set this issue aside and become friends once again during Jyamato Grand Prix. A semi-running gag is that Ace will refer to their relationship as that of a couple, which they both deny. They often work together for mutual needs, such as fighting Jyamatos together, helping other people and Riders, and keep Sara in the dark regarding Keiwa's enrollment in Desire Royale. Eventually Neon revealed to the siblings that her wish was for a world that could forget about her because she was a fake person born of the DGP; that way, she could go into the future with Kyuun without worrying her fans. Keiwa told Neon that he cared about her as a friend, and that if she wanted to stay in the present, she'd always have a place with him and Sara. Despite Neon trying to convince Keiwa to release Tsumuri and give up his plan, he ignores her, although Keiwa doesn't go as far as harming her.
- Michinaga Azuma/Kamen Rider Buffa: Keiwa works alongside Michinaga for a time. Upon his return to the game, Keiwa has no choice but to face him after Michinaga joins the Jyamatos. After his sister's death by Michinaga's hands unintentionally, Keiwa swore revenge and successfully doing so as Tycoon Bujin Sword. Keiwa ended up not killing Michinaga as he prefer the latter to live with the guilt of him killing Sara. On the other hand, Michinaga feel responsible about her unintentional demise and devote himself to solve this predicament on his own. After Michinaga finally defeats Beroba so that Daichi could bring Sara back from the Tree of Knowledge, coupled with Keiwa listening to Ace explanation thoroughly, Keiwa not only saves Michinaga from Kekera, but also apologize for not trusting him in the first place. Thus, the two finally make amends on each other.
- Tsumuri: Tsumuri warns Keiwa not to make the Desire Grand Prix known to the public, despite making those video diaries of the events he took part in. Later, a resentful Keiwa asks her to make him a Raise Buckle so that he won't lose again, which Tsumuri reluctantly accepts, thus creating the Bujin Sword Buckle. Keiwa later kidnaps Tsumuri and holds her hostage in order to have his original wish granted, which is to revive all of the DGP victims. After Zitt and Samas succeeded turning Tsumuri into the next goddess (despite failing to petrify her like Mitsume), Keiwa succeeded in getting his wish granted, turning him into Dezashin.
- Win Hareruya/Kamen Rider PunkJack: to be added
Desire Grand Prix
- Chirami/Kamen Rider Glare2: The new Game Master after replacing Girori. Chirami often annoys Keiwa with his antics, much to his dismay.
Allies
- Takeshi Goutokuji/Kamen Rider Shirowe: The two had met the day Keiwa and Neon were civilians during the final round of the last Desire Grand Prix. Keiwa witnesses Takeshi's demise during the final battle with Fortress Jyamato, and become distressed as Rook Jyamato took upon Takeshi's appearance, making him the prime candidate to be ousted as Dezastar until Ace reveals the truth.
- Takahito Taira/Kamen Rider Ginpen: Taira is the IT company manager who conducted Keiwa's interview. They were surprised to see each other in the Desire Grand Prix, while Taira had joyfully thought Keiwa had an amazing dream despite it being unfit for the company. However Taira's time was cut short when he is unceremoniously defeated by the Jyamato and dies in Keiwa's arms. This incident not only put Keiwa in emotional distress when one of the Jyamato Riders start mimicking Taira's words, but also becomes the main motivation for Keiwa's wish to revive the fallen Players if he become the Dezashin.
- Ittetsu Tanba/Kamen Rider Keilow: They meet during Conspiracy Arc while Keiwa become the Non player side. Both Keiwa and Tanba formed a close bond with each other as Tanba is moved by Keiwa fighting to protect the young people, allowing himself to be retired in order to allow Keiwa join the Desire Grand Prix midway, to live his life in his current age to the fullest.
- (Kamen Rider) Ziin: Keiwa & Neon meet Ace's supporter for the first time, as he asks for their help on solving Ace's origin.
- Daichi Isuzu/Kamen Rider Nadge-Sparrow: At first, Daichi is suspicious of Keiwa, not believing his words. Daichi also use the fact that Keiwa hesitate to finish Rook Jyamato despite fully known about the Jyamato mimicking Takeshi appearances, effectively putting Keiwa on the prime suspect as Dezaster. Thanks to Ace who reveal the truth about the Rook Jyamato to everyone present, the table turned against Daichi as he was voted out and retired. Upon his return to the game, he decides to destroy Keiwa no matter what to pay for his early humiliation, which also extends to attacking his relatives. Ultimately, Daichi is the one responsible to Keiwa series of misery as he's the one who infect Sara into Stage 2 Pawn Jyamato and consumes the Memory of her. Keiwa later manages to defeat Daichi in his Jyamato form using Tycoon Bujin Sword, although Keiwa failed to kill Daichi due to Ace interference. In the end, Daichi reclutantly brings Sara back from his Tree of Knowledge after listening to Ace Pep Talk and Michinaga reclaimed Tree of Knowledge from Beroba.
Enemies
- Jyamato: to be added
- Jyamato Rider: to be added
- Kanato Sumida/Kamen Rider Da·Paan: to be added
- Morio Koganeya/Kamen Rider Mary: Koganeya ignored Keiwa for the most part, only showing interest in him when he seemed to find a new way to gain points through saving civilians. He seems to regard Keiwa as one of the weaker players and thus not worth the time it would take to butter up. Later, after learning of Morio's background, Keiwa becomes wary of him, and suspects him of cheating when he used his VIP pass to switch his partner PunkJack with Keiwa's partner Michinaga. Already at a severe disadvantage and at risk for elimination, Morio then steals Keiwa's Boost Buckle to twist the knife further, and Morio tries to feign sympathy for him to cover it up, but Keiwa and the other Riders see through his actions with Keiwa being visibly angered and demanding his Buckle back, culminating in their battle in the "catch the Boost" game set up by Michinaga.
- Girori/Kamen Rider Glare: The Game Master who's been pulling the strings of the DGP, just so he can get rid of Ace. Girori chooses Keiwa to get rid of Ace for him by giving Keiwa Command Twin Buckle, so that he may fulfill his wish in the final round. Ultimately, Keiwa opposed Girori as the latter deems Ace's wish foolish, with the former exclaimed that all the wishes of Desire Grand Prix players are worthy.
- Mitsume/Goddess of Genesis: Although Keiwa never meet Mitsume in person, Keiwa hold a deep grudge against the goddess due to a false assumptions that she sacrificed many people wishes (including the innocents such as his late parents) to grand the Dezashin their wish. Even after Win explained the truth, Keiwa refuses to let go of this prejudice. When confronted by Ace, Keiwa justifies his motivation for kidnapping Tsumuri is partly for Ace to atone for Mitsume's sins, further enraging Ace in the process. After Ace successful recreates the world, Keiwa's hatred for Mitsume seemed to have subsided as Keiwa opts to not hate the sinners, as Ace told him.

- (Kamen Rider/Premium) Kekera: Kekera acts as Keiwa's supporter in the Desire Grand Prix, giving him secret missions on a regular basis to help him in the game. Despite Keiwa initially being confused at his use of a frog statue, the two would come to have a better relationship later on, with Kekera recognising Keiwa's wish of reviving those lost to the Jyamato as the image of what a Kamen Rider should be, and him helping Keiwa overcome his hesitation and naivety several times, especially when the Jyamato began taking on human forms and he was accused of being the Dezastar, though Kekera has no qualms chewing him out for his shortcomings. Keiwa later gets mad to him for making Sara a Rider, though he lets it slide when Kekera claims it's her decision to become a Rider to prevent dragging him back, and decides to protect her from a distance. After Grand End is successfully postponed by Geats, Kekera now assume his Human form to interact with Keiwa, much to the latter shock. It's also Kekera who goaded Keiwa ruthlessness after Sara was unfortunately slain by Michinaga, setting the motion of Keiwa's fall into darkness. Ultimately, Keiwa manages to stand up and rebelled against Kekera once Michinaga finishes Beroba for good, with Kekera become furious with Keiwa deviating from his dark side, thus ruining his image of 'True Kamen Rider'. In the end, the two would have their final battle, with Keiwa emerging victorious and rejecting what Kekera taught him in favor of Ace's. Even after everything that happens, Keiwa acknowledges one positive thing about his supporter's role in making him a Kamen Rider and giving the power he needs to protect the world, with Kekera's become satisfied with his Idol determination before his demise.
- (Kamen Rider/Premium) Beroba/Kamen Rider Glare2 (II): Keiwa asked Beroba if defeating Geats would save his family, with her saying that if he completes Tsumuri's transformation into the second Goddess of Genesis.

Behind the Scenes
Portrayal
Keiwa Sakurai is portrayed by Ryuga Sato (佐藤 瑠雅, Sato Ryuga). As Kamen Rider Tycoon, his suit actor is Eitoku (永徳, Eitoku), who was the suit actor for the secondary Heisei Riders from Diend to Cross-Z (excluding Beast, Mach, Specter, and Brave). In Kamen Rider Geats: Jyamato Awaking and some scenes in Kamen Rider The Winter Movie: Gotchard & Geats Strongest Chemy★Great Gotcha Operation, his suit actor is Takahiro Yoneoka (米岡 孝弘, Yoneoka Takahiro), who was also the suit actor for Kamen Rider Glare2.
Etymology
The English word "tycoon" is a loanword derived from "taikun" (大君 ), a title used for shoguns of Japan. "Taikun" itself is an anagram for "tanuki" (狸 lit. "raccoon dog"), Tycoon's animal motif. Furthermore, the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu was known as "Tanuki-oyaji" (狸親父 lit. "raccoon dog father"). The shogun aspects of Kamen Rider Tycoon's etymology foreshadowed his eventual shogun-themed Bujin Sword form.[17]
Notes
- Keiwa's transformation pose was created by Sato, a long-time fan of Kamen Rider. Audiences have noted the pose to be similar to Eiji Hino's from Kamen Rider OOO.[18]
- Ever since obtaining the Ninja Form, Keiwa's transformation pose has incorporated a hand rotation gesture resembling a shuriken.[19] Starting from episode 7 onwards, Sato began patting his chest since he couldn't integrate the raccoon dog elements into his pose.[20]
- Sato also boasts that he has perfected a 0.45-second version of the same pose, affectionally named the Usual Full MAX Version (通常フルMAXバーション, Tsūjō Furu Makkusu Bājon) by Kazuto Mokudai.[21]
- For the finger cracking towards the end of the series, Sato copied it from the same gesture performed by the character Ken Kaneki from the anime Tokyo Ghoul.[22]
- Because Keiwa's character is meant to be viewed from the audience's perspective as opposed to Ace, Sato made sure during filming that his spoken dialogue and facial expressions were easy to understand.[23]
- A recurring gag with Keiwa is him often getting hit by the flying Boost Buckle after it is used.
- Keiwa is the only Geats character to have an inner demon, a concept originally introduced in Kamen Rider Revice.
- Tycoon's Shinobi Form uses a repainted version of Kamen Rider Woz Futuring Shinobi's chestpiece and the Ninja Players' armguards. The form also reuses the mouthpiece from Zombie Form and the yellow eyes typically used for the Boost, Armed, and Fever Forms. His kunai also appear to be repainted from the Ichigo Kunai.
- Tycoon Bujin Sword uses a black/green recolored variant of his Command Form helmet and torso armor, with the visor being further modified, while the leg armor is recolored from Ninja Form's bottom half and the forearm guards are from the Ninja Players. The shoulders and upper arm armor are original, as well as the inclusion of a black cape.
- Because of Ninja Form's lower half being used for Bujin Sword, the lower half would appear as CGI in the finale, with Tycoon performing a quick kick to Regad Omega before the Revolve On sequence is initiated.
- Typically, Tycoon Bujin Sword has blank eyes underneath a red visor, though some media shows the form with red eyes alongside the visor, such as in the Game Result for episode 41. Additionally, the blank eyes will still remain while utilizing another Raise Buckle (Monster and Boost), despite the aforementioned buckles giving a different eye color.
- Although Tycoon Bujin Boost (Red Eye) has never appeared in the show, Kamen Rider Geats Chozenshu and Kamen Rider Zukan both prove the existence of this form.
- According to Yuya Takahashi, he considered having Keiwa as the final antagonist following the production of Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale, but ultimately abandoned this idea after observing Sato's portrayal, believing that he wasn't truly evil but rather fiercely fought to protect the trivial happiness of his family. Takahashi, however, was open to having Sato portray an antagonist role should they work together in a future non-Kamen Rider related project in the future.[24][25]
- During production for episode 42, Sato started dieting as soon as he received the script, aiming to authentically convey his character's worn and fatigued appearance.[26]
- The suit that Keiwa wears after he becomes leader of the Gang Riders is reused from the regal robes worn by Hiryu Kakogawa in episode 41 from Kamen Rider Zi-O. Furthermore, the suit was originally worn by Emperor Maya from Kamen Rider Wizard in Magic Land, when he met Koyomi at night.
- Tycoon's version of Boost Form MarkII repaints the mouthpiece from Ninja Form. Tycoon's helmet shape is unchanged while the green is recolored vermillion.
