Keisuke Watanabe (渡邊 圭祐, Watanabe Keisuke) is a Japanese actor and model who portrayed the various iterations of Woz in Kamen Rider Zi-O.

Biography[]

Watanabe was scouted when he was in college and debuted as a model. After transferring to Amuse, he debuted as an actor in Zi-O.

Post Kamen Rider[]

In 2019, he starred as Naoto Watanabe in Taiwanese singer Jay Chou's music video for his song Won't Cry. [1]

Watanabe was a special guest for the July 11, 2020 livestream premiere of Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Forever in the United States. He gave words of encouragement for those struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic and gave away an autographed DX Beyondriver.

In 2022, Watanabe starred as Ling Yao in the live-action film adaptations of Fullmetal Alchemist.[2]

Personal Life[]

  • Watanabe originally auditioned for the role of Sougo Tokiwa, but ultimately dropped out due him not resonating with the character. The producers later called him back to set and cast him in the role of Woz. According to Watanabe, he was working at a second-hand clothing store three days before he received the callback.

  • Like Erina Nakayama and Naoko Miyama, Watanabe portrayed two roles within the same series. Although unlike both actresses who previously portrayed biological siblings within their own series, Watanabe portrayed several alternate variants of the same character.
