Kazuto Mokudai (杢代 和人, Mokudai Kazuto) is a Japanese actor, singer, and dancer who portrays Michinaga Azuma/Kamen Rider Buffa in Kamen Rider Geats.
Biography[]
Mokudai was scouted by Stardust Promotion multiple times as a child, but turned most of the offers down. Mokudai was scouted again when he was in middle school; he decided to accept Stardust's offer for good as he did not have any particular future aspirations but became interested in idols after his parents had been fans of SMAP.
Mokudai debuted as a member of the acting troupe EBiDAN, and later competed in BATTLE BOYS. Mokudai was eventually placed as a member of the boy-band Genin wa Jibun ni Aru.
In 2022, he took a brief hiatus from the group and auditioned for Kamen Rider Geats, ultimately landing the role of Michinaga and briefly reuniting with fellow BATTLE BOYS member Ryunosuke Miyamoto, who portrayed Kanato Sumida.
In 2024, Mokudai portrayed Ryosuke Sugano in the live-action drama adaptation of Oshi no Ko. reuniting with Hideyoshi Kan. (coincidentally enough the anime has Rie Takahashi starring as Ai Hoshino).
Personal Life[]
- As a child, Mokudai watched Kamen Rider W and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger
. Although he had owned a DX ShodoPhone
, his friend had owned a DX Doubledriver and they would imitate Double's transformation pose together.[1][2] - To prepare for his role, Mokudai watched Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and paid heavy focus to Kamen Rider Genm, another zombie-motif Rider also suit acted by Yuya Nawata in a show also penned by Yuya Takahashi. He also received advice from his friends Keito Tsuna and Kouhei Higuchi, both whom were Sentai heroes.
- Mokudai is close friends with Geats co-star Ryunosuke Miyamoto.
