Kagayaki (カガヤキ), formerly known as Kanenokouji Kadenokouji (勘解由小路 金小路, Kadenokōji Kanenokōji), is an Oni Training Leader who transformed into Kamen Rider Kagayaki (仮面ライダー輝鬼［カガヤキ］, Kamen Raidā Kagayaki, lit. "Masked Rider Bright Demon").
He is a legendary Oni who evolved over the Kurenai and reached Kohgane color. Like Kamen Rider Shuki, Kagayaki is quite old although sounded younger. He is the grandfather of Kamen Rider Yuki.
History[]
Kagayaki retired. Knowing that only the apprenticeship system could not train Onis very well, where there even veteran Onis who did not take on any apprentice, he wanted to create a system where one instructor can train several Oni. Kagayaki became an Oni Training Leader to help train new Onis in the field.
When Kamen Rider Hibiki, Kamen Rider Ibuki, and Kamen Rider Todoroki were under tough battle with Super Douji and Super Hime, Kagayaki stepped in and saved the Oni in danger. After repulsing the Super Douji and Super Hime with his legendary weapon Ongekibin Retsuen, he told the the three of them that he came to warn them about the return of the strongest and most terrible phantom Makamou Kobutori. Kohgane Neko, the Disk Animal of Kagayaki, returned. Kagayaki knew that would mean his other Disk Animals found Kobutori. He told the Onis to stay and continue training, while he went to battle the Makamou himself.
Following Kohgane Neko, Kagayaki caught up with Super Douji and Super Hime and found Kobutori. Seeking to avenge his gradnson, he battled the Makamous with his finisher Ongekinie Enkiissen, producing Sound of Purification infinitely. Kobutori tried to absorb the sound, but Super Douji knew it may explode after abosrbed too much under the endless incoming attack. Super Douji then tried to lure Kagayaki to stop the attack, revealing that all the soul of absorbed Oni were stored in the hump of Kobutori, and Super Douji could resurrect Yuki with his power. Super Douji and Super Hime told Kagayaki to defeat other Onis and they would revive his dead grandson. Kagayaki refused the bargain. Knowing the deal not going to be accepted, Super Douji assaulted Kagayaki, but stopped by Ibuki and Todoroki who just arrived.
Suddenly, Kagayaki turned around and vied the weapons of the Onis. He gave Super Douji the Ongekikan Reppu and Ongekigen Retsurai, letting him to feed Kobutori with the weapons. Super Douji and Super Hime told Kagayaki that was not enough, Kobutori wanted to eat the flesh of Ibuki and Todoroki. Kagayaki had no choice and aimed his Ongekibin Retsuen at two of them and shot. Hibiki arrived and asked Kagayaki to stop, told Kagayaki to thought about what would Yuki say when he saw the situation. Kagayaki hesitated, and Kobutori took the chance, attacked Hibiki and eaten the Ongekibou Rekka. Ibuki, and Todoroki tried to stop Kobutori, but the Makamou shaked off them and took away their strength. Hibiki stopped Kobutori with Armed Saber, and successfully damaged it. Transformed into Armed Hibiki, he united Ibuki, and Todoroki for the finla battle. Where the three of them getting close to deafet the Makamous, Kagayaki stopped them and attacked and knoked them off. Kagayaki expressed that before he was an Oni, he was an old man who missed for his grandson. Armed Hibiki used Super Kishinkakusei and heavily damaged Kobutori. Super Douji then told Kobutori to eat Kagayaki to heal himself. Armed Hibiki gave Todoroki the Armed Saber, and rushed to save Kagayaki. Under the covering fire of Ibuki and Todoroki, Hibiki set up the Ongekiko Kaentsuzumi and started the Ongekida.
Kagayaki heard the drumming sound that have a tone similar to Yuki, awakened and gave his Ongekimei Sennorikyu to Ibuki. The Ongekida of Hibiki, combined with the Enkiissen of Ibuki and Super Kishinkakusei of Todoroki, defeated Kobutori. Super Douji and Super Hime fleed, and Kobutori exploded. With his face detransformed, Kagayaki asked Hibiki why Hibiki still save him, Hibiki told him Oni should fight in advance to help people. Hibiki told Kagayaki that he was sure Yuki also fought until the end, and took out a pair of borken Ongekibou. Kagayaki cried bitterly as he holding the memento from his grandson. He told Hibiki that he was an Oni who not only beats the drums, but also strikes people's hearts.
