- For the series' main character, Zeztz, see Baku Yorozu.
Kamen Rider Zeztz (仮面ライダーゼッツ, Kamen Raidā Zettsu), often stylized as Kamen Rider ZEZTZ is a Japanese Tokusatsu drama in Toei Company's Kamen Rider Series. It is the seventh series to debut in the Reiwa Era and the fortieth overall. The series premiered on September 7, 2025, joining No.1 Sentai Gozyuger
in the Super Hero Time
lineup after the finale of Kamen Rider Gavv. After the finale of Gozyuger, Zeztz will be joined in the Super Hero Time line-up by Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity
on February 15, 2026.[1]
The series' first cour tagline is "His dream is a mission to save the world." (彼の夢は、世界を救うためのミッション, Kare no yume wa, sekai o sukuu tame no misshon).
The series' second cour tagline is "Who's the one having a nightmare?" (悪夢を見ているのは、誰だ?, Akumu o mite iru no wa, dareda?)
Production[]
Development[]
During an early planning meeting with Shin-ichiro Shirakura and Hideaki Tsukada, screenwriter Yuya Takahashi pitched an idea about a dream-themed Rider, which was approved. However as "dreams" was an extremely vague and broad concept, the concept of "secret agents" was added.[2]
Post-Production[]
Toei Company confirmed and filed the trademark for Zeztz on March 19, 2025.[3]
On July 25, 2025, the day of the premiere of Kamen Rider Gavv: Invaders of the House of Snacks, actor Ryutaro Imai was announced to have been cast in the lead role of Baku Yorozu, making an early bird cameo appearance as his character in the film.[4]
Marketing[]
On July 5, 2025, a teaser trailer was released.[5] On July 10, 2025, a second teaser was released, featuring a obscured look at Zeztz's then-unidentified actor in a cinematic demonstration of the Zeztz Driver.[6] On July 19, 2025, a third teaser was released, featuring a first look at all of Zeztz primary forms.[7] On July 26, 2025, a master cut of the three teaser trailers was released, with Imai's face fully unobscured in footage from the second teaser.[8]
During the press conference on August 7, 2025[9], several actors such as Maho Horiguchi, Kenta Mishima, Kamen Rider Geats-star Rina Onuki, Miki Yagi, and Yuki Furukawa were announced to have joined the cast. Famed composer Hiroyuki Sawano alongside his band NAQT VANE were announced to be performing the show's opening theme song "VISIONS".
Story[]
- "Tradition. History. Pride. Struggle. Reflection. Courage. Beyond that, there is innovation. Don't lose your dream. Wake up. (目覚めろ。, Mezamero.)"
- ―Narrator from the 1st trailer of Kamen Rider Zeztz[src]
Baku Yorozu. He is a (self-proclaimed) ordinary young man living a boring, dull life, but, when he falls asleep, he turns into an invincible agent with his lucid dreaming skills that let him control his dreams! Within those dreams, he battles to rescue the captive heroine, Nem.
However, in the dream world, monsters called Nightmares appear, trying to make nightmares a reality! With the belt he obtained in his dream, Baku transforms into Kamen Rider Zeztz!
Stop the Nightmares which intend to invade the real world! The fate of the world is on Baku's shoulder, and the dreaming mission of Kamen Rider Zeztz starts![10]
An ordinary young man becomes an "invincible agent" in his dreams and protects humanity from the "Nightmares", nightmare-based monsters who bring about the worse in reality.
Now, the mission begins![11]Characters[]

Notes[]
- Kamen Rider Zeztz is noted for being a milestone in the international expansion of the franchise outside of Japan, to countries across the world. Producer Hideaki Yanaka had attended L.A. Comic Con in 2025 as a guest panelist for the Kamen Rider Zeztz panel where he revealed that Zeztz was designed with international distribution in mind, with the suit's design being a homage to the orignal Kamen Rider but also updated to match modern-day standards for new and existing fans.[23]
- The show's Riders all share the common theme of their transformation devices being worn as a sash instead of the traditional waist belt.
- Aside from the tradition of omitting the opening theme sequence in the first episode, the series also omits the opening in the second and third episodes, which was intentionally done by director Kazuya Kamihoriuchi who believed that the first three episodes served as the "pilot" of the show and were required to properly introduce the characters, setting, and plant future plot elements.
