The film also features Rinne Kudo's debut as Kamen Rider Majade ahead of her televised debut in Episode 19.

Pre-Production[]

During the planning concept stage, the tentative title for the film was Kamen Rider Chemy Gathering (仮面ライダー ケミっこぐらし, Kamen Raidā Kemī Gurashi)[1]

Filming occurred throughout October.[2][3]

Post-Production[]

In 2023, it was announced that a crossover film between Geats and Gotchard would premiere in the Winter of 2023.[4] On November 5, 2023, it was announced that VTuber Shirakami Fubuki had joined the cast as the Geats Chemy.[5]

On November 26, 2023, it was announced that Rie Takahashi had joined the film’s cast.[6] The artist for the film’s ending theme was revealed to be blank paper, a collaborative effort between KENJI03 of BACK-ON and his wife Koda Kumi.[7] On December 3, 2023, several voice actors were announced to have joined the cast.[8]

Continuity and Placement[]

Plot[]

Flashing back to years ago, Ace mourns over the death of his dog in a traffic accident. In the wake of his death, the dog’s soul materializes into a brightly colored spirit.

In the present day, Rinne, Sabimaru, and Renge are accompanied by Supana as they investigate a ghost incident at an abandoned restaurant. Simultaneously, Houtaro is late for said mission as he scrambles out of the house before being stopped by his mother Tamami for his recent poor academic performance. Houtaro yells at her for being annoying and calls her names as he leaves, leaving Tamami angry. Houtaro arrives at the restaurant just as the team finds Utsubocchama, a Chemy haunting the restaurant and capture it.

However, shortly, they become surrounded by several Jyamato who intend to attack. Keiwa, Michinaga, and Neon arrive and transform to fight the Jyamato, and are shortly joined by Ace, while Houtaro and Supana transform as well to assist in eliminating the Jyamato.

After a short round of introductions, Keiwa, Michinaga, and Neon are shot by X Wizard, who turns them into Chemies. They chase after the Level 10 Wizard Chemy to a warehouse where they meet up wuth Tsumuri. X Wizard advises the team to find the other Level 10 Chemies before she will turn them back, kickstarting a new Desire Grand Prix as Tsumuri navigates.

At the Alchemist Academy, Minato expresses his concerns with the new game the team are forced to play, but is reassured by investigator Licht Kugimiya who see this as a new opportunity.

Tsumuri splits them into four teams: Team 1 with Sabimaru, Renge, and Neon, Team 2 with Supana and Michinaga, Team 3 with Houtaro and Keiwa, and Team 4 with Rinne, Ace, and the mysterious Geats Chemy.

Teams 1 and 2 succeed in capturing Exceedfighter and Lixion, while Team 4 uses Team 3 as bait to capture X Fortress, though Ace is not interested in working with his Chemy counterpart at all due to his disdain with pets. That night, Houtaro and Keiwa rest up after their misfortunes against attempting to capture X Fortress and devise a way to outsmart Ace. Back at Kitchen Ichinose, Tamami looks at photos of Houtaro from when he was younger while thinking on his actions from that morning, saying he reminded her of his father, Tamami's husband.

The next morning, Rinne and Ace move in to capture Xeggdrasil while Houtaro and Keiwa try to show him up. However the two are blasted to a distance, leading for Houtaro to accidentally find BeetlX. After both Chemies manage to crash into each other, Houtaro captures both with his quick thinking, impressing Ace. The teams gather back to the warehouse to turn in their captured Chemies, and X Wizard turns Keiwa, Michinaga, and Neon back. After X Wizard surrenders herself into a Chemy Card, the two teams then go their separate ways.

Six months later, Houtaro captures all 101 Chemies and achieves a new alchemist rank. However the arrival of X Wizard and the Geats Chemy makes him realize that he was in a dream. Simultaneously, Neon dreams of running after her “Prince Charming”, Michinaga dreams of eating a large steak, Keiwa dreams of becoming a full-fledged police officer, and Rinne dreams of meeting her father Fuga.

While Houtaro falls through the dream world, Ace appears in an attempt to save him. X Wizard appears and reveals that she put the team to sleep so they can live out their greatest wishes. In the past, X Wizard played with a group of human children, but their memories of X Wizard were ultimately erased by the Alchemist Association, leaving X Wizard sad and heartbroken from being left alone again. Houtaro refused to stay in his dream as he wanted to apologize to his mom for his hurtful words, allowing Ace to activate his powers and wake everyone up.

Minato and Tsumuri await the team at the warehouse as they awaken, and Houtaro invites X Wizard to join him to achieve his dream. However Kugimiya appears, saying that everything was set up to lure Ace out. Absorbing X Wizard to become the Wizard Malgum, Kugimiya uses his powers to put the general populace to sleep, with a nightmare that would eventually kill them, and summons several Jyamato in the process. Geats, Gotchard, Buffa, and Valvarad stay behind to fight Kugimiya while Tsumuri brings the others to the academy. Minato advises using The Sun and Unicon cards to dispel Kugimiya's magic, but only an elite Alchemist can handle that power.

Deciding that her father may be able to help them, Rinne willingly subjects herself to Kugimiya's spell to enter the dream world, while Keiwa and Neon defend her from Jyamato. Meeting with her father and presenting him the two cards, he grants Rinne the Alchemisdriver, and she returns to reality with the power of Kamen Rider Majade. With the rest of the Riders struggling against Kugimiya’s onslaught, Majade single handedly eliminates the Jyamato and the Wizard Malgum with her new powers.

With Kugimiya on the ropes, he reveals that he was a former participant of the Desire Grand Prix who was defeated by Ace over two millennia ago, and only studied alchemy to exact his revenge on the man who humiliated him. After re-absorbing X Wizard, Kugimiya summons a giant black hole in the sky, which sucks everything up. He fires a lethal shot at Ace, but the Geats Chemy jumps to take the shot for him, before being absorbed by Kugimiya, who becomes Geats Killer. Houtaro and Ace transform into Gotchard and Geats respectively to fight Geats Killer, but they are overwhelmed by his power. The five Level 10 Chemies recognize the dire situation and lend their assistance to Gotchard, transforming him to Kamen Rider Star Gotchard. With new power, Star Gotchard and Geats IX defeat Geats Killer, freeing X Wizard and the Geats Chemy.

Kugimiya is arrested by Minato, while Ace realizes the Geats Chemy's identity, his late dog Constantine. Ace and Constantine were inseparable until the latter's accident that claimed his life. Constantine's longing and love for Ace allowed him to live as a spirit. When X Wizard first attacked the team, Constantine took the blast that would have turned Ace into the Geats Chemy and became the Geats Chemy himself. Ace tears up and says his goodbyes before Constantine disappears. At that point, everyone gives their farewells and go their separate ways.

Ace returns to his family home and reminisces about Constantine’s old dog house, while Houtaro apologizes to his mom. Keiwa helps an old lady down the street, Neon reads a letter from Kyuun, Michinaga goes back to work with his colleagues, and Tsumuri maintains Ace's shrine. In the end, Houtaro and gang hold a welcoming party for X Wizard.

Errors[]

  • It is not explained how Rinne was able to release herself from Kugimiya's sleeping spell, though she most likely broke through with the cards' powers before she transformed, or one method of breaking it is realizing the difference between dream and reality.
  • It is not explained how Kugimiya, who participated in the Desire Grand Prix and lost, was able to retain his memories, though they were most likely retained through his long-time practice of alchemy. It is also possible that the administration had not yet begun erasing memories of its losing participants around this time.
  • When X Wizard reverses the Chemy spell, it is unknown why Constantine had not turned back as well, as he was still the Geats Chemy towards the latter half of the movie.

  • During the scene in X Fortress, Ace and Rinne were seen eating Akai Kitsune & Midori no Tanuki brand noodles, one of the collaborators for Kamen Rider Geats and the film.
Kyohei Yamaguchi Cameo in Gotchard & Geats

Kyohei Yamaguchi's cameo as a suspect interrogated by Keiwa.

  • Director Kyohei Yamaguchi makes a cameo in the film as a suspect that Keiwa interrogates. Eitoku was originally meant to play the suspect but could not do so due to a scheduling conflict with filming the main Gotchard series, forcing Yamaguchi to "reluctantly" take his place.[29][30]
  • During the dream sequence where Keiwa police records state that his residence is 202 Crystalia, Sekkoku-cho, Byunkyo-ku, Tokyo, a reference to the Crystalia KingdomIcon-crosswiki from Mashin Sentai KiramagerIcon-crosswiki.[31]
  • The events of the film would have repercussions on the subsequent storyline of Kamen Rider Gotchard:
    • Episode 16: Rinne possesses Unicon and The Sun, and at the time, lost her ability to transform and perform alchemy.
    • Episode 17: Kugimiya's actions resulted in the closure of the Alchemist Academy, and the Alchemys Union deciding to eliminate the students.
