Kamen Rider Revice The Movie: Battle Familia (劇場版 仮面ライダーリバイス バトルファミリア, Gekijōban Kamen Raidā Ribaisu: Batoru Famiria) is a Japanese superhero film that serves as the Summer Movie adaptation of Kamen Rider Revice, double-billed with Avataro Sentai Donbrothers The Movie: New First Love Hero. In the film, Ikki, Daiji, and Sakura face off against the dangerous terrorist Azuma, who wishes to judge the fate of humanity himself. The film also features an early-bird appearance from Kamen Rider Geats ahead of his in-series debut.

A TTFC-exclusive companion special was released alongside this film.

Production

Filming

The film's style was chosen by director Sakamoto, who took inspiration from the 1981 film Escape from New York due to their similar plots of saving people from an hijacked airliner. He also borrowed elements from several of the animated Doraemon films due to many of the supporting characters of Revice appearing in large roles.

Post Production

On June 5, 2022, Norito Yashima and Zyuohger-star Haruka Tateishi were announced to star in the film in guest roles, while main cast member Fujimori voices the film's antagonist. On June 13, 2022, Issei Mamehara of JO1 fame was announced to guest star in the film. On June 19, 2022 former Kakuranger-star Kane Kosugi was announced to have the joined the film's cast as Azuma, a casting choice made by Sakamoto due to his experience in action films.

Synopsis

A hijacking incident has occurred! Genta and Yukimi, alongside several other passengers have been kidnapped by the criminal named Azuma and taken to the forbidden land known as Area 666. The Igarashi siblings rush to save the hostages, but are met with Azuma, who transforms into Kamen Rider Daimon with a strange belt in his hand. He attacks the Igarashi siblings with the intent of judging humanity himself.

The mysterious scientist Soutomi, who was kidnapped alongside Genta and Yukimi, then reveals a great secret within the Igarashi family and hunts them down, while setting up a trap that prepares them for their greatest crisis ever.

At the end of the fierce battle with Azuma, what will become of the ultimate buddy that Ikki and Vice have? Will it shatter or transcend into an unwavering bond?

Continuity and Placement

• Kamen Rider Revice: The film and Birth of Chimera is set between episodes 46 and 47.
• Kamen Rider Geats: Ace was active as Geats during his high school years and participated in the Daybreak edition of the Desire Grand Prix for a duration of six months, his appearance in the film could occur at almost anytime prior to the first episode.

Teasers of the film had been announced at AnimeJapan 2022 during the weekend of March 26th and the 27th.

On April 10, 2022, an announcement poster featuring Revi and Vice alongside the Donbrothers was unveiled.

Starting on April 22, 2022 in collaboration with TV Asahi, Toei held a summer campaign for a coloring page of Vice, Revi, and Don Momotaro was held on Twitter, allowing those who post their finished sheets online a chance at a lottery.

A new campaign trailer was released on May 15, 2022, featuring Revi and Don Momotaro.

On May 29, 2022, a teaser trailer was released.

On June 12, 2022, TTFC-exclusive companion special was announced to premiere alongside the film.

Geats' movie transformation vs in-show

• The theatrical poster featured a first look into Kamen Rider Destream weeks before his in-series debut on Episode 42.
• Although the film takes place after Daiji and Sakura obtained EvilytyLive and Invincible Jeanne, they do not utilize said forms as the film was produced before the final arc of Revice had finalized. However, because Kamen Rider Jeanne & Kamen Rider Aguilera with Girls Remix was filmed before this movie (as well as Episode 36's production), Lovekov Tricera Genome makes an appearance in this film, even though the aforementioned special would release two weeks after the film's theatrical release.
• In his movie cameo, Geats has a different version of his transformation from the one in the show, mainly the lack of the railing unit in which all the armors slide on for it to be put on the Riders.
  • Subsequently the buckle icons for Magnum and Boost are completely new 3D models different from the ones in the show which are the just the original logos.
• During the scene where Geats assumes Magnum Form, Genta describes the new Rider as a "fox", mirroring the scene in the premiere for Kamen Rider Geats.
• Showings of the film in theaters included previews of Kamen Rider Geats × Revice: Movie Battle Royale.
• Clips of Geats' fight scenes were used for the TV Size version of the Trust・Last music video.
• There are two references to the original Kamen Rider series.
  • The bus driven by Yukimi to help escort the plane passengers out of Area 666 has a license plate labeled "19-71", which is the year the series first aired.
