Icon-bladeThis article is about a novel in Kamen Rider Blade.

Novel: Kamen Rider Blade: Twilight (小説・仮面ライダー剣“たそがれ”, Shōsetsu Kamen Raidā Bureido Tasogare), is a short story written by Sho Aikawa that ties up loose ends of the show's finale.

It was published in Kamen Rider Blade: Complete Works (仮面ライダーブレイド 超全集, Kamen Raidā Bureido Chōzenshū) in 2005.

Plot[]

The story is about a dying old woman (Amane) who tells her grandson the story of the four Kamen Riders. The story covered what happened to the four after Kenzaki went missing after his fight with Hajime.

Hajime lurks around Amane, and stayed by her side during her last moments. He looked exactly the same as when they first met. Mutsuki Kamijo, Shiori Hirose, and Kotaro Shirai died due to old age. Kotaro's book about Kamen Rider was so popular that it later became a TV drama and merchandise, which made a lot of money for the Kurihara family.

Tachibana became the head of the BOARD. He kept on researching the Undeads and did experiments on himself. He gained long longevity from his research and kept an eye on the two Jokers. He is also Amane's health insurance benefactor.

Tachibana found information about an unknown beast attacking an armed insurgency in Africa. The beast was trying to keep homeless kids safe from the war zone. That beast is likely to be Kenzaki in his Joker form.

Notes[]

  • In addition, outside the short story, Kamen Rider 555 was supposed to have an extra episode where Kenzaki meets Takumi. Sadly, this was never released in public and the whole story was only brought up the Kamen Rider BLADE DVD round table discussion. This idea would later be used for the conclusion of Kamen Rider Wizard, Kamen Rider Drive, and Kamen Rider Ghost.

  • According to Aikawa, a few contents from the novel had to be removed due to being too long. One if which is the explanation that Tachibana's longevity and the aftereffects of using his own body as a guinea pig was inspired from trying to find a cure to reverse Kenzaki's Joker mutation.[1]
