Kamen Rider (仮面ライダー, Kamen Raidā, Masked Rider) is a Japanese fighting game developed by Kaze and Bandai Namco Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation, featuring characters from the continuity of the original Kamen Rider series as playable characters. It was released in Japan in 1998.

Game Modes[]

  • 1P Battle Mode: Defeat 9 random CPU opponents before fighting Hilchameleon last
  • 2P Battle Mode: Fight against a human player
  • Team Battle Mode: Form a team of up to 5 characters to defeat the opposing team. Once a character in either team is defeated, they are eliminated, and the next character takes their place. This repeats until all characters on either team are eliminated.
  • Survival Mode: Same as 1P Battle Mode but with a single health bar and one round per fight. Defeating an opponent will restore a small bit of the player's health.
  • Death Battle! Combatman Mode: Defeat as many Shocker/Gel-Shocker Combatmen as possible using only one of the Double Riders
  • Special Training Mode: Perform a combo that matches or satisfies the on-screen requirement to earn a card
  • Digital Card Mode: See the cards collected
  • Options: Adjust the game's options
  • Story Mode: Play through the game's story mode

Story Mode[]

In Story Mode, the player can choose to either play the Rider Story or Shocker Story.

Rider Story[]

In Rider Story mode, the player must defeat the evil Shocker organization to restore the peace by battling against 6 combatmen before fighting against a Shocker kaijin, if the kaijin or player's health is 50% or less, the game automatically switches the position of the player on the screen. If all Shocker and Gel Shocker kaijin are defeated, the player will immediately fight against the Great Leader without fighting combatmen or switching around.

Shocker Story[]

If the player successfully passes the 8th round, the player's Shocker kaijin turns into Strongest Kaijin (最強怪人) which is stronger and has a different appearance from the original form. The player can then upgrade punching power, kicking power or both or can summon 6 Combatmen to aid them. the player then must defeat Kamen Rider 1 before facing Kamen Rider 2.
