Junya Komatsu (小松 準弥, Komatsu Junya) is a Japanese actor who portrayed Hiromi Kadota/Kamen Rider Demons and Muramasa in Kamen Rider Revice.

Biography[]

After winning three consecutive Grand Prix awards in 2013, 2015, and 2016, he made his acting debut in the multimedia project Tsukicro. Since then, Komatsu has appeared exclusively as a stage actor.

In 2019, he left his agency GVjp. inc, and in 2020 joined his current agency Sun Music Brain. In 2021, Komatsu was cast as Hiromi in Revice, later remaining on the show for 20+ episodes until his departure to participate in other stage performances. His character was temporarily written out until Komatsu's return for the series' second half.

In July 2022, he received a letter of commission as Ishinomaki Tourism Ambassador that took place at the Ishinomori Manga Museum ICYDK. [1]

Personal life[]

  • Komatsu was seven when he attended the grand opening of the Ishinomori Manga Museum. He had met and shook hands with Hiroshi Fujioka there, where it would inspire Komatsu to pursue acting and join Kamen Rider.

  • Komatsu is more known as a stage actor, and made his drama debut in Kamen Rider Revice.
  • Komatsu's hometown is Ishinomaki, which is the hometown to the Kamen Rider franchise creator Shotaro Ishinomori.
  • According to series writer Hanta Kinoshita, Hiromi was originally intended to be killed off after his failed transformation with the Revice Driver. However, following Komatsu's splendid audition, the character was rewritten to be included as a main cast member and eventual Kamen Rider.[2]
  • Komatsu had performed in the Ouran High School Host Club musical in January 2022.[3] During that timeframe, his character in Revice was written off during production.
