In 2001, Toei licensed some of their 1970s Tokusatsu shows to JN Productions.[2] The shows were Kamen Rider V3, Inazuman, Kikaider and Kikaider 01. Rather than send them to a distributor, the company decided to do the entire project in-house, including DVD distribution, and created Generation Kikaida. The website is named after the term for native Hawaiian fans of the program Android Kikaider. On the website, fans can purchase English subtitled DVDs of the four shows as well as officially licensed merchandise such as T-shirts and coffee mugs.

In December of 2014, the company released Kikaider REBOOT on DVD to US fans to commemorate the franchise's 40th anniversary.
